No booklet with special edition dvd?

My copy of Goodfells (Two-Discs Special Edition) didn't come with a booklet. Was it just my copy, or Scorsese didn't want to include one?

You've Got Mail - movie DVD cover picture

First of all...I loved this film. Okay, I know everyone is saying, "can you say Sleepless in Seattle"...well yes I can. Can you say, Spencer Tracy and Kate Hepburn? If the movie duo of the 60s can make numerous successful films playing similar roles, then so can Hanks and Ryan. Quite simply, this film was just great. I enjoyed every moment of it. I think Hanks played a great character who never lost his sarcastic wit, but gained a bit of charm. Meg Ryan was...well, Meg Ryan. This film is for everyone. Whether you see it in the theater or at home, just see it. Bottom line...while I felt like I was watching an AOL commercial at times, I was still able to receive the message quite clearly.

Hulk (Widescreen Special Edition) - movie DVD cover picture

I anticipated this movie greatly. Being a comic book hero fan, I was looking forward to a spetacular movie with a notable director, fine cast, and padded budget; yet, we get all these, but an otherwise flat movie based on a flat scripted.
The film has its moments like the "Hulk vs the dogs", but besides a few moments here and there, one's mind starts to wonder because of the sheer silliness and overly done multiangle filming.
The end, as the Hulk/Banner battels his father (uninspiring performance by Nolte) is just anti-climatic and boring. Sam Elliot provides the screens best performance as Jennifer Connely's father.

wonderfully romantic

To tell the truth, I could care less how authentic this film is to the novel. In the end I loved it, and that was enough for me. I have seen several other recent Austen adaptations, and read her work. I first read (and saw) Pride and Prejudice. I liked the film version, and the novel as well, but I was not intrigued as I was with this film. And I sat, waiting for Persuasion to pick up -- it never did. Mansfield Park is my newest addition to my top ten favorite movies of all time. As for the accusations of lesbianism - I can easily see when one could assume that. It however, was not the case. When Miss Crawford is "rehearsing", she is simply trying to subtly seduce Edmund, case closed. If you wish to see flat acting, look into another Austen adaptation. As for the slavery issue, I believed it showed just how much a heroine Fanny is. Some have said that Austen her self would know nothing of it. Completely untrue! England was practically the center of an ongoing Abolitionist/pro-slavery debate at the time! I think in the end, Austen's points come across. Notice this - When Mrs. Price tells Fanny "I married for love" (Implying that is why she suffers so) to the comparison of Mariah who marries for money, has an affair, and becomes an outcast. This movie truly drew me in. I particularly loved the ballroom scenes -- truly enchanting. I will watch it many times in the future - and am sure I will find new things to love with every viewing.

Good material with only minor flaws

The shorts presented herein are very fine and funny material, even the shorts that aren't real L&H shorts per se because they either appeared together but hadn't been teamed yet or because only one of them were appearing. The strongest material of course comes from the two proper L&H shorts, 'Liberty' and 'We Faw Down'; I also very much like 'The Lucky Dog,' the film in which they first appeared together, even though they were nowhere near getting teamed yet. 'Love 'Em and Leave 'Em' is the original silent version of what later became 'Chickens Come Home'; but for the difference of roles (Ollie and not Jimmy Finlayson plays the blackmailed husband running for mayor in the sound version), it's such a practically word-by-word and gag-by-gag retelling it's uncanny. 'Bromo and Juliet,' the Charley Chase short in which Ollie appears as a police officer, is very funny and enjoyable too; it's a criminal shame that today this great funnyman and performer is all but forgotten. 'Along Came Auntie,' which was rescued from near-decomposition, is also enjoyable, but overall I'd peg it as the weakest of the six shorts presented here. Of course the material on the discs in this collection are fantastic, but it just seems like they were assembled without rhyme or reason, like by theme or chronological order.

There are however a few minor flaws; it appears that this DVD is like the others in this collection in that it just starts playing right away, or at least it does so on my computer's DVD player. You have to click the Menu button on the control bar to be brought to the main menu to select the short you want to see yourself, and if you're only interested in seeing one, four, and six, say, you have to repeat this every time instead of having it automatically start and the beginning and not display the menu by itself until the final short is over. The background music, even if some of it may have been the original backing soundtrack in theatres, can also become repetitive and monotonous. Sure it's not EXACTLY the same throughout every short, but it's not very varied either.

Dallas...finally on DVD!

I wondered if they were *ever* going to release this awesome show. I can't wait! Remember when J.R. got all those investors to go in on what he knew was a bunk deal, and then the 1 guy even committed suicide over it? Man that J.R.'s a real card! GREAT SHOW!!!

Great Movie! When will it come out on DVD?

This movie is the best cop show I have ever seen. Aside from its controversy and violence this show was well made. John Lone was at his best as always and Mickey Rourke was the same with attitude. I hope that the director would bring this great show out on DVD in stead of letting it collect dust!!! When it does come out buy it you won't be sorry!!!

Great show - better in widescreen

This is an imaginative and entertaining show - one of the best on TV in a long long time. One that is fun to watch over again on DVD. Widescreen makes it tons better than the old square pictures we have been used to. Widescreen is the way of the future and it's here to stay.
