No Limits On ... Live at Austin City Limits

I watch this DVD at least twice a month and I never tire of it.I believe that Roy had his famous" butterfly" stomach at the beginning of the show, half way through the first song Roy hithis stride. The rest of this show was outstanding.Roy was usingsome of his favorite musicians for this performance. You could tell that Roy really was enjoying the "jamin" during the show. All of the musicians were excellent. The DVD is awesome becauseI can hit the zoom in button and get great close shots of Roy'sface. Some people have said that they don't like his looks. Allthat I can say to that, is they don't know beauty when it hits them in the "ears." With the quality of this DVD shown on my large screen TV,it is almost as good as having Roy standing inmy living room.I also enjoyed the Documentary Footage,Still Gallery and the Song Lyrics.I also have it on VHS.But the DVD isa better way to enjoy Roy Orbison performing.I love, love, lovethis DVD!!!!

The Castle - movie DVD cover picture

I actually laughed so hard I stopped breathing. I watched it three times in a row, in as many days, and little in humor was lost. After spending 6 weeks in Australia, where I actually saw it, I think I may appreciate it more than most. Let me put it to you this way. If the idotic antics of Homer Simpson tear you up, then you will kick your self for not seeing this movie earlier. Because this is a family of Homer Simpsons. In fact they're so stupid, you might wonder how they got a house to begin with. Oh yeah, because it's practically under an Airport. And when the father stands there, and silently marvels at the high tension electric wires because, "they're a sign a progress." you get some idea as to the depths of retardation this family goes. But at the same time, I actually cared about the characters, which is so rare in contemporary story telling. Even the Narration is hilarious. I strongly approve of this movie. And for the people who didn't care for this movie... I dunno, move to Australia, and watch it again. And see if you don't find yourself silently pulling for them.

Lilo & Stich, Special Editon

I am wondering why Disney's studios was not release 2-discs special editon for this movie in USA. However, I found the 2 discs special editon for this movie in Mexico. This item can be seen in the USA because is encode region 1 (USA & Canada) and 4 (Latin America), NTSC format, widescreen, English, Spanish and Portugese Language tracks and subtitles available in those languages. It includes an alternative ending, music videos, behind the scenes, and lot's of more features. The price varies from US$17 to US$24, depending where you get it. I really like this movie, and I am planing to get the part 2 (Stich has a glitch) because includes the DTS soundtrack but I am still wondering if Disney is going to release part 1 in a 2-discs special editon, which I believe could be better than this one or probably the same. I am telling you this because the same happen with Mulan 2, which was release on October 04 in Mexico and February 05 in the USA, Tarzan 2-discs special editon which was release on May 05 in Mexico and is going to be available until october in the USA, other movies just are realease the same date like Tarzan 2, The incredibles, Bambi, and Cinderella 2-discs (on October 05). I got most of my Disney movies in the USA because I lived up there for 4 years and many through amanzon because some features are eliminated when change the language like the DTS soundtrack which is not included in MultiRegion format (1,4). Finally, I can say that I have the 2-disc special editon for Lilo & Stich for less than 19 bucks. bye.

'Stand By Me' for the Estrogen set

This flick rocks. Christina Ricci is unbeatable, as usual, and Janeane Garafolo has the coolest cameo. The whole 'Crazy Pete' thing made me cry, and the girls hiding the "Wormers" clothes made me laugh. If you see this film, you'll probably do some of both, too.

Just as good as the original

This is rocking! I can't believe all the stuff that is in this movie. The basic plot premis is that Tim Curry makes the Scary Movie gang do a report on some old house. But that is where all the fun spoofs begin! Yes, it is amazing all the newer stuff they could spoof on now. The Mummy, The Excorist, and most likely, Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer. Heck, they could even try to spoof Scary Movie! Watch this when it comes out!

Arlington Road - movie DVD cover picture
How Much Do You Really Know....

"Arlington Road" plays out a suspensfull tale that turns to a chilling conclusion. Most of the content...especially towards the end, makes you wonder if you are always getting the entire story of events that happen in our society. Jeff Bridges is excellent as an intelligent, slightly edgy college proffessor who uses his courses on terrorism to try and fill the gap made when his FBI wife is carelessly killed on the job. To tell the truth, I was only drawn to this movie the first time because Joan Cusack is my favorite screen performer...but once I saw it I was blown away. The cast and small supporting cast is equally well done, and Angelo Badalamenti's music composition fits perfectly with every tension-riddled twist and turn. One thing I should say to first time viewers is; dont spend the entire time watching the movie asking how things could possibly happen in this scenerio. The story seems frighteningly realistic, and there are no aliens or incredible special effects needed to keep you on the edge of your seat...particularly towards the end. I dont think this is a movie, I thinks its a lesson in life.

"I once had it all. Now, I just have everything."

Nicolas Roeg was once one of the GREAT directors of the 1970's. With "Performance", "Walkabout", "Don't Look Now", "The Man Who Fell To Earth" and "Bad Timing" he built a reputation for being a man who didn't compromise his vision to just pander to mere entertainment. Indeed these 5 movies are his most rewarding and challenging works. With "Eureka" Roeg begins to slip. There are some great Roegian moments in the film and the first half with Gene Hackman is compelling at times but as the film goes on it loses steam and just simply turns into a courtroom drama. From what I've read of Roeg, he likes this film very much and while it is very good in places as a whole it just doesn't have that vision that his previous work had. After this film his choices of material did not match his odd style and seem mostly like vehicles for Theresa Russell(it seems he was a better director BEFORE she came into the scene).

The Princess Bride Review

I have seen the DVD of the Princess Bride and let me tell you, if you liked the movie, then you will love the DVD. The DVD contians the movie and then, after the movie, there are interviews with the cast including the famous wrestler Andre the Giant before his death. Then they have cut scenes that apparently have never been seen before. They also have outakes. (One such example is when the Albino is coming down the stairs to clean the wounds, he trips and falls) I love this DVD!!!

Dogma scores big

This being the forth Kevin Smith movie, I was highly entertained. Kevin Smith's clever and witty writting mixxed with talented actors such as Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Chris Rock make for many laughs. If you have a problem with jokes that deal with religion then you may want stay clear of this one. If you are a Kevin Smith fan then most likely you have seen this one, if not I recommend it all the way!
