Ninth Street is a gem

"Ninth Street" is a real gem. Martin Sheen and Isaac Hayes are featured in Director Kevin Willmott's first feature-length film. The film deals poignantly and humorously with a whole litany of issues----race issues, the Vietnam War, the military/ industrial complex, Christianity, and other hot-button issues. Kevin Willmott brilliantly recreates life in his hometown of Junction City, Kansas in the late 1960's. In particular, the movie chronicles life on "Ninth Street," a notorious street known as "the Harlem of Kansas." This strip of black-owned taverns, pool halls and other businesses was wildly popular with G.I.'s at local Fort Riley. Soldiers around the world knew about life on Ninth Street. The plot revolves around on ongoing dialogue of two old-timers----Bebo and Hudie---who lament the fact that Ninth Street has declined from it's glory days when they were young G.I.'s. This movie will make you laugh and make you cry. It has layer after layer of symbolism and meaning. In the spirit of pioneer black filmmaker Oscar Micheaux, Kevin Willmott portrays the lives of African-Americans with honesty and passion. Although the buildings on Ninth Street have been razed and are now only a memory, Willmott has preserved this unique time and place in a funny yet deeply serious film.

George Hamilton please.

This movie was one of the overlooked beach party movies. It has taken the spring vacation and showed both sides. The fun and the horror of meeting too many men too fast.Yes love will find it's way. When it comes to seeing one of the best looking men in that time it was George Hamilton. And he plays one of the sexy, kind and sweet men that you really want to dream of and meet. The movie has alot of fun in it and it also was very real.

LEGENDARY!

This is a must-see for everyone! I have been a fan of PRINCESS BRIDE since I was a little girl back in the late 1980s. This film has everything from love and romance to comedy and laughter. Now as an adult, watching this film as an added value. I can enjoy the sceneary, the script-writing, the actors' portrays and of course the great irony!
I remember the first time I watched Forrest Gump, I couldn't help but feel like I recognized the actress who played Jenny (Mandy Patinkin). That's when I remembered! She played Buttercup in PRINCESS BRIDE. That's what made me go out and buy this DVD. I highly recommend this film . . . you will be reciting the one-liners for a long time. This is one of those films you will re-watch and discover new things everytime you watch it.

Professer Plum is a U.N shrink who had an affair with his patitent. And Mrs. White(Madline Kahn) who's husbend was a nuclear fissist. And Wadsworth(Tim Curry) the butler who invitied them all. Then all of a sudden every one who is in the house and who comes in dies. The cook, Evite the Maid, A motorist a singing telgram girl, a cop, and Mr.Body himself dies. Whodunnit? My favorite movie

this is the best movie i've ever seen. I love A-PIX movies because they are so dumb, that they are hilarious. This is the best one yet. I've never laughed so hard at a movie that wasn't supposed to be funny. The movie is about a movie editor that replaces and old one, and he goes crazy, and starts to kill everyone. To tell how dumb this movie is, i'll describe the beginning. There is a crazy movie editor cutting up all of these movie tapes. His boss tries to get in, but the door is locked. The boss finally breaks down the door, and movie editor, who had put a grenade in his mouth, blows up. The boss responds with, "You're Fired!" If you need a good laugh, then watch this movie, or, if you want to see the dumbest movie ever, then I also recommend this movie. - CIAO !!!

Not all of the Odd-Numbered Films Were Duds!

When everyone says that all the Star Trek films with odd numbers are duds, they must've forgotten about Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Although the title may be dumb (if you saw Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, then you are well aware of exactly "where" Spock is), this film is just about equal to The Wrath of Kahn. Part III picks up exactly where part II left off, with everyone saddened by the death of Spock. The Genesis Project is now very controversial because it is known throughout the galaxy as a very powerful weapon. Enter the Klingons, led by Christopher Lloyd (in a role that had to have been tailor-made for him). He battles Kirk for the Genesis Project...and so on.
This movie's emphasis on the theme of friendship and sacrifice above all else makes it a winner in the hearts of Trekkers, or anyone with feelings for that matter. The rescue of Spock and the aforementioned "sacrifices" are just as dramatic and haunting as Spock's demise was in part II (there are two really big shockers in this sequel). The only real weak link in this movie was the replacement of Kirsty Alley by Robin Curtis as Lt. Saavik. Alley's Saavik in The Wrath of Khan was played surprisingly with a lot of emotion, and that's what made her character likable. Curtis plays her as being very dry and too "logical," which given who she was in part II, makes no sense. Part III was cleverly directed by Leonard Nimoy who also directed part IV: The Voyage Home.

His complete life story

They have footage of him when he is 13 years old all the way through 1994 World Cup. Not just his goals and accomplishments on the field. If you are looking for goals (and are not concerned about the quality of the program!) there are many Maradona programs available, but none are as interesting as this one. The previous reviewer seemed to be upset at the lack of goals, however we all know that Maradona is a very interesting person with a remarkable life story, which is what this programs covers- His Life Story. I really liked it and watch it quite often.

One Of My All-Time Faves...

Everybody has a different reason for being fond of a movie. This movie came out around the time I finished high school. It brings back fond memories of my boyfriend and I seeing it at the drive-in. Those were the days...... Besides that...it was a great movie. I understand what the person below was saying when they said they appreciated the fact that the characters didn't try a Texas accent. I don't especially like it when actors try to do a southern accent either. It never does really sound like us down here...know what I mean Vern?
