Nice gems

The main reason i purchased this DVD was to see her perform 2 of her best songs... "UR" and "I Was Hoping." These unsung gems from her 2nd American release, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, are exquisitely performed against beautiful backdrops.

7th heaven is the best show that was created

Hi, I am 7th heaven's number one fan.. and after telling you why I think you would agree with me. I have three episodes on tape which I watch over and over again without getting tired of them. I'm always singing the theme song around the house and it drives my mom nuts hehe! But what does that matter to me? just kidding. Well anyway lets get on with the subject. Why hesitate to put 7th heaven on DVD? Well all that I have to say is DON'T HESITATE! There are so many 7th heaven fans out there that want this DVD to come out... it's their dream come true. Well at least it's mine. But seriously... soo many people are waiting for the opportunity to buy it! It's been the best show on the WB for 4 seasons and I cannot believe there is still not a DVD out for the show. That's CRAZZY! The show is so touching and great for the family that there should be no reason to doubt that no one is going to buy it. You would have to be nuts to think that. This show is great... and to all the 7th heaven cast memebers out there GOOD LUCK! And keep it up!! it's the best show ever created... and I would never miss an episode. I LOVE YOU GUYS. And fans.. keep trying to get this dvd out on the store shelves because it means a lot to me and I'm sure it means much to you too! :) Thanks again Amazon I hope you consider my request xoxo! 7th heaven RULES. <3 :)

Another Good Movie

This too is a very good movie and again I watched many times and saw things I missed the first time. Also with this one you have to have an open mind to grasph what is being told to you. If you can think about what is coming and is told to you in the bible and read the bible with an open mind you will see and can compare things with the movie. The movie may not be exact but it gives you the sense of what you might expect to happen when this time comes in my opinion.

Okay here is my opinion. One of my favorite actors in the whole universe is Bill Bixby. If Bill had not been in this movie, I would've gave it 1 star. I have respect for Elvis as a singer but he could not act worth a lick! This is another typical Elvis movie, that you just sit through it and by the end of it you think to yourself that you have spent 50 years watching this movie. I think that what makes me like it a bit is because of Bill Bixby being in it.

great movie, bad distributors

I think it's one of the best movies to come out in a long time--way, way better than the tripe (mostly) that Hollywood is doing these days.

There are problems, however, with Miramax and their distribution. The US version is edited and dumbed-down from the director's original vision for the film.

So, unfortunately, if you buy the DVD here, or even view the movie in a US theatre, you're not seeing what the director intended.

Please consider hunting down and purchasing the extended Chinese release instead. (It is completely legal.)

Madonna poured her heart out in this role. Playing Eva Peron isn't easy! First, she's complicated.Second, she's a legand,a myth! And third she's an ambitious b*#ch! Finding a balance between Anti-peronist and peronist views of her is hard. Why Faye Dunaway did a movie called Eva Peron,a boring 4-hour Anti-Evita film. And this movie shows how Madonna found great depth in this role and did an amazing job! Working her a*# off! Oscar was not granted to her,she has a golden globe and like many other great women of the Twentieth Century like Garbo, and Dietrich. Madonna has proven herself, and if Oscar never comes. She should continue to act so as to acheive a lifetime acheivemant award.A death award! Bringing back the medium of Film Musicals is a brilliant idea and CHicago is a good idea. Evita was the best!

Why I hate sequels

The sequels (though at times entertaining) to this movie, along with the coterminous "Rambo" series, almost made this crtitcally acclaimed, truly great film, a joke. They also nearly ruined the premise of this original, that of a middling fighter, albeit with voluminious heart, who takes his one shot at glory and catches a much more talented man off gaurd. In the subsequent movies Balboa becomes a "great" boxer, and we lose one of the most endearing characters in film history. This egregious example confirms that sequels are self-serving and spoil the imagination of viewers of the orginal work.

The main reason that this work is so moving is the character development of the title character. From his inept attempts at loanshark enforcement and romance, to his moments alone in his seedy apartment staring in the mirror, talking to his pets, to the advice given to the young girl, we find this man of violence very appealing. His development (and pari passu transformation of Adrian-played brilliantly by Shire) culminates in the poignant moment when he reveals to Adrain that though he knows he cannot win, if he can just go the distance he'll know that he wasn't "just another bum from the neighborhood". And go the distance he does--in one of the greatest fight sequences ever made.

Other plusses: The inspiring theme song which swells perfectly as he accends the steps, the interesting love story, and the fabulous acting of Shire, Young, Weathers and Meredith.

A great film.

Awesome Brit-com, great DVD!

I got into the show Coupling a couple of years ago when I visited my boyfriend in his native land (Britain) and was hooked immediately. From thereon in I didn't miss an episode of the show on BBC America. The only problem was that I hadn't been able to catch the first season reruns. Coupling -- The Complete First Season is a clear indication as to why I became a big fan of this hilarious and clever Brit-com. The show is about six thirty-something single Londoners and their relationship plights. Well, there's a lot more to it than that. The clever one-liners, the hilarious situations and the smart and witty quips among the six friends make this show a comic marble. The three girls -- Susan (the sexy one), Sally (the anal retentive one) and Jane (the eccentric, manipulative one) -- are great and sort of remind me of Rachel, Monica and Phoebe (sorry, but I am sure that most of you saw that one coming). And the guys -- Steve (the more romantic one), Patrick (the commitmentphobic one) and Jeff (the hilarious, somewhat perverted one) -- take it one step further in comedy and bonding than the guys on Friends. Jeff is my favorite character. I love his quirky lines and immature behavior. My favorite episodes are "Flushed," "Size Matters," "Sex, Death and Nudity," and "The Girl with Two Breasts." (The latter episode is the funniest one.) I got to see how Steve broke up with Jane and how he met Susan. And in that breakup and get-together, all six of them meet each other and become friends. I was not disappointed. The execution was great, especially during the first scenes of the episode "Flushed." In the hopes of saving both time and word space, I won't give a complete episode guide. I see that some reviewers have already done it. I just wanted to share my enthusiasm and utter satisfaction with the show's first season. Also, the DVD is quite good. It is far user-friendlier than the Sex and the City DVD in that each episode has a menu with scene choices -- something that SATC DVDs don't have for some reason. Anyway, if you're in the bargain for a clever and modern British comedy then I suggest you give the first season of Coupling a whirl.

A true masterpiece

I've never read the Dune series. I did see the David Lynch movie and the Sci-Fi channel miniseries. I actually liked Lynch's Dune much better, so I wasn't expecting much from Children of Dune. However, I found this new miniseries to be so incredibly captivating! The acting on the part of Alia and the twins were incredible! I could actually feel the strife that the family was going through. The CG effects were definitely above average for a made-for-TV movie and the film's score was breathtaking. The movie moves at a decent pace, just slow enough to unravel the intricate plot but fast enough that you don't get bored. That was a problem with the Dune miniseries.
I would recommend this to anyone who has seen the original Dune. This film is truly epic.

Futurama: better than the simpsons

there is no doubt in my mind that this is better than the bulk of the simpsons library. no show has been more original, so far out, while being such a satire of the modern day. it will make you laugh, and possibly cry if u cry after youve laughed too hard.
