Nice Movie - One of the best DVD's

Other than a lack of dialogue, character development,a decent script,a realistic storyline or any point in having been made at all, this is a good movie.

v good

I know, I know, the script is horrid, as well as the acting. This movie may have one-liners taken straight out of a Bazooka Joe comic, but I just can help but be taken in with the action scenes. Tsui Hark is at his best here, (hes later at his worst with "Knock Off"). Call it a guilty pleasure, I guess. I still laugh with excitment when I watch the scene where Van-Damme runs into that Ninja in a hotel room.

Review mania

This movie, is great, how the beast has its own very unique caracter, and how the beast had gotten a spellbound on him because he had judged a princess over looks, in the begining of the movie, until belle's father Maurice, had gotten lost on his way to an nvention contest. Belle on the search for him, had met the beast, replaced her self for her fathers freedom and soon enough the beast had fallen in love with Belle, and the Beast had left Belle free. She new there was trouble so she had come back, Because of Belle's love, the Beast's spell has been broken, and the Beast and all of the other people who also had turned into an object, all turned back into humains, and they all lived happily ever after!

Great Film!

What can I say that no one who loves the film has said already? The movie is great! great acting, great fight scenes, fun, lots of action, SFX serving the story instead of it taking over the story. I loved the characters. Watch it and see for yourself how great this film is.

Devo - Live - movie DVD cover picture
D-E-V-O!

It was 1977 when I first saw the magic and aura that is Devo in a video for "Come Back Jonee" that had just aired on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. (Anybody remember him?). From that point on, I was hooked. Devo was, and are, unlike anything before or after them. Their quirky, revolutionary sounds and visuals influenced many bands that followed, and being a "Devotee" you always felt like you were a part of some secret loyal underground club who shunned the conventions of the rest of world, whether or not you fully understood the messages (sometimes I think even Devo wasn't sure what they were spouting off about). Nobody married avante garde electronica and subversive humor with a uniquely identifiable sound and concept better than Devo. They were 100% original, and you'd be hard pressed to pinpoint their musical influences (perhaps Bowie, The Residents, or Kraftwerk, but Devo was clearly defined). They perhaps lost their way after departing Warner for the smaller Enigma label, running out of fresh ideas and no longer as immediately relevant in an ever-changing fickle world of flash-in-the-pan artists and music.
Happily, this performance drives the point home as to just how cool and radical they really were. I was hesitant at first to buy this, as the thought of my heroes becoming some fat, bloated 40-somethings who got together for pure nostalgia would sadly dillute the impact of the band and it's history, but thankfully I was dead wrong. This is no Motown review reunion, Devo rocks! They sound raw and inspired, and best of all: wonderfully strange and out of touch with the rest of the world (for the better). Their music still sounds as bizarre and off-kilter as ever, proving that little has changed in 20+ years of music evolution. Duty Now for the Future!

A must have DVD for those lazy afternoons ...

I know that this Star Wars has received some mixed reviews from the die hard fans that have PHd's in Star Warology, but, as far as I'm concerned, a mere wookie mortal living in Ft Lauderdale, this is one great DVD .....
As far as I'm concerned I think Jar Jar Binks absolutely rules and it's one of the greatest characters ever to come out of the mind of Lucas, right afer Joda .....
For those of you that have surround sound at home with a wide screen television, the technical production of this movie will let you put those amps and speakers through their paces ..... The movie is cut in an anamorphic widescreen ration of 2.35:1 which for the uninitiated means your wife won't be sitting beside you complaining that everyone in the movie is too fat ....
What can you say when video, sound and special effects are perfect ...... hands down one of the best DVD's around today .....

Emma - movie DVD cover picture
Great!!!!!!!!!

Douglas McGrath's 1996 version of "Emma" is an absolute delight! Modern actors put a new and fresh spin on a timeless classic. Emma's character is brilliantly captured by award-winning actress, Gwyneth Paltrow. The viewer can sympathize with Emma, despise Emma, and fall in love with Emma all in a matter of two hours. Emma's innocence and good heart is exactly what causes pain to many. It is this age-old internal struggle that makes you fall in love with Emma. Emma's escapades will have you wondering, laughing, and may even jerk a tear from your eye. The modern actors bring a fresh look to a story that will live on forever. Emma is the upscale twenty-one year old daughter of Mr. Woodhouse(played by Denys Hawthorne). Emma is a good natured, yet very sheltered girl with an amusement for the art of matchmaking. Emma has been quite successful at making matches among her friends and neighbors. It is Emma's success that is her failure. As Emma becomes more successful at making matches, she obtains a sense of graditude and learns to endulge in self-reward. Making others happy is soon overcome by her own obsession to be successful at making them happy. To the townspeople, Emma is a symbol of perfection. There are two people who are able to see Emma's faults, Mr. Knightly and the viewer. Emma depises the fact that Mr. Knightly (played by Jeremy Northam) is able to see her faults and call her on them. As Emma matures throughout the movie, it is the honesty of Mr. Knightly that she learns to love. One of the main themes in the movie is the old adage "you find love where you least expect it". Emma definately finds love where and when she least expects it. It is a bit ironis that Emma falls in love while attempting to make others fall in love. During Emma's failures, she confides in her only true friend, Mr. Knightly. Emma and Mr. Knightly's solid friendship is the foundation for what is to be a healthy relationship. "Emma" is a friendly reminder to us all...that the one you love the most, may very well be the one you considered least.

Out right Funny

When I first saw this film in theatres, I laughed my a** off! What makes this movie funny is yes the toilet humor, and the whole movie is great from the first frame. Jay and Silent Bob find out that their comic book hero's Chronic and Bluntman, there is a movie being made about them, and they dont know about it! So when they find out on the 'Internet' who's Ben's character was funny, taught them what the 'Internet' is, and they find out that they are getting smacked talked about them by 40 year old virgins who still live with their mothers under their basement. So Jay and Silent Bob decide to head to Hollywood to STOP the movie from being made. Along the way, they learn the unwritten book of the road: you have to give oral pleasure to the driver whether they are male or female, unwritten rule. So they get picked up by a nun, Jay sits in the front and they talk about the unwritten book of the road, but the nun is talking about the bible. So then Jay decides to give oral pleasure to the nun, but from then on, the movie just gets funnier and funnier. Sean William Scott (who's character's name is Jake.) is a total geek with braces, so Jay wants to get rid of him because he is hitting on Justice (Shannon Elizabeth) so he asks Jake if he was a sheep would he give pleasure to another sheep (that is not what he reallys says but work with me.), then Jake looks at him and says "What's your damage little boy?" Jay then told him think about it, so Jakes answers "Since you put it that way, you bet your a** I will." Jay nods his head and says "I thought so," then he screams "HEY THIS F***ER SAID HE F**K A SHEEP!" So they throw Jake out of the van with his acoustic and with Jay screaming "NOW WHO'S THE D**K YOU DIRTY SHEEP F***ER!" Anyway, see the film, and u wont regret it.
