Near Perfect.

The introduction of the gorgeous Eliza Dushku would have been enough but BTVS doesn't stop there. The Mayor is possibly the best villian ever produced in TV history. He is opie as a sociopath.

The season does a great job of contrasting the paths of Buffy and Faith. It is a great reminder that Buffy is human and can fail from time to time. The angel return is kinda lame but they deal with it as best as can be expected. With Angel leaving at the end of the season you knew that he and Buffy were over and it was tiresome at times to the see the angst ridden scenes b/w them.

The greatness of Season 3 is in the scoobies, and the villians. Willow and Oz get fleshed out nicely and Xander gets new layers added to his personality. Of course after everyone had given up on Willow/Xander you knew that Joss would throw them together. It is a brief arc but entertaining and a nice jab at the viewers who clamored for it for 2 solid years.

As far as episodes go season 3 has very few miscues. Each episode seems to have a purpose and helps move along the story. The most conventional season in aspect of episode structure that the show ever produced IMHO.

It may be straightforward but Season 3 is a terrific season that is worthy of all praise it gets.

Can it be true?

I am so happy the greatest tv show ever is finally being released to dvd. The Simpsons show is the greatest commentary on American society and it is funny too! I will finally be able to have a set of dvd's and not a bunch of VHS (64 last count) to fumble through to find my favorite episodes. BTW, set your closed caption on, you will see dialogue that isn't spoken.

Clerks is the one to check out

Word of mouth & personal expierience made me want to see this movie. And when I did,it left an indelible mark.Granted,Clerks will have you laughing from beginning to end(such phrases as Chewlies Gum,37,____mopper,Berzerker,shoe polish,& salsa shark bring to mind this film),but it's the look at Gen X 20-somethings in the 90's. The bad job, stagnation and indecisiveness of life at that age.
Brian O'Halloran plays Dante Hicks, the convienience store jockey with all the whiny"I HATE MY LIFE BUT DON"T WANT TO CHANGE IT" attitude heard among Gen-Xer's.But Randell Graves (Jeff Anderson ) the clerk at the ajacent video store and the ultimate slacker. He hates his job, but not his life.He disregards his responsibility to his job because he knows it's a dead end and just something to do in the meanwhile.
After a day in the life of Dante where he's conned and complaining about working on his day off(as well as other bizarre circumstances)Randell sets Dante straight telling him that he overdramatise things to make his life seem more interesting than what it is.
Kevin Smith is a genius.Even though his movies fall on the wayside sometimes(Mallrats,Dogma),his skewed vision has brought him a following.Legend has it that he sold his comic book collection to finance Clerks. It shows he sacrificed something he loved for something his fans will embrace & love for many moons to come

**Season Three** ...The third best...

Season three was, from the first couple episodes of the season, the worst in the series. It wasn't until the Darla troligy did things pick at all for me. From there on out the season kept getting better and better, until it finally peaked at the season finale. The addition of Connor was one of the geatest things in Angel history. While I like season four and five better, this season definitly is better than the first and second IMO.
The DVD is looking great, planty of featurettes to go around, some bloopers, and even screen tests. Widescreen looked great for season two, so it should look even better this time.
Hopefully Fox keeps up its six-month intervals so that season four and five (my favorites) will be out before this time next year. Season four was like watching a season of 24, you never get board, and season five, now with Lindsay's return as a big bad, is going to possibly become my favorite season.

Outstanding set for fans of the original "Zone"

Rod Serling was a writer's writer. His anthology series changed the way that science fiction, fantasy and horror were presented on TV. Although the episodes from the superb first season have been available on various anthologies released by Image Entertainment (and another company), this is the ultimate edition of the series on DVD. The image quality is exceptionally good with solid blacks and a crispness missing on some of the earlier sets.

The extras actually are what make this worthwhile to pick up. There are new audio commentaries by many of the stars that appeared in the original episodes and also excerpts from the interviews that Marc Scott Zicree conducted for his exhaustive tome THE TWILIGHT ZONE COMPANION. Additionally, there's an audio lecture that Serling gave. Add in the original promos for forthcoming episodes with Serling, the network pitch, the original cut for the pilot, isolated music scores by such masters as Jerry Goldsmith and Bernard Herrmann and you've got an outstanding package. Serling's bloopers show up on this set as well.

The addition of Zicree's superb "The Twilight Zone Companion" in a smaller format is the perfect book end for these classic episodes of television. Yes, you'll have to buy it again if you want all this stuff. Is it worth it? Absolutely for hardcore Zone fans this is like finding the Holy Grail. A hats off to Image for doing a terrific job with the first, best season of one of the most original anthology series ever broadcast.

DTS makes this worth owning

This happens to be the first dvd that made my wife exclaim loudy, "Wow, that sounds great!!!" Considering she never understood why i spent so much money on my surround sound system untill this dvd says a lot.
Plot wise it's weak but who cares!!! Visually it's not much different than most dvd's but the action is almost non-stop.
If you have a DTS decoder i would recommend this dvd as THE benchmark dvd for showcasing your DTS system.

What a pleasant surprise

I was skeptical, worried it was a mistake but I rented it anyway. Well, now I own it. There are puns and sidejokes running throughout this flick. Whenever I need a good laugh I pop it in. Whether you are a sci-fci fan or not you will enjoy this movie.

Quality Family Entertainment

I would watch these early Sunday mornings and laugh myself silly. Now I enjoy watching and hearing my children appreciate "dad's old movies". It's great to know that humor doesn't have to be vulgar and include foul language. Now, if we can get Dean and Jerry on DVD!!
