Naschy's Masterpiece

Horror rises from the tomb is one of the greatest Spanish horror films to date. I recommend watching the uncut european version that this DVD collection provides. All of Naschy's horror films are reminicent of the old Universal and Hamer horror films, except they usually have more gore and nudity. Horror rises from the tomb is no exception.

Some things never get old

Most kids nowadays don't know much about the "other" Disney movies...you know the ones that haven't come out in the past 10 or so years. The ones that aren't Nemo or Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. But as someone who's seen practically every Disney movie, I can say that this is one of the best! It's funny with truly original characters. There's nothing better than spolied, mean Prince John crying for his mummy! The voice talent is great (Robin's voice especially) and while it may not be as flashy as the newer Disney movies, the animation is still very pretty at times. At the same time, it gives sort of a bit of a history lesson: that princes weren't always that great (there actually was a Prince John who was so awful that there was never another prince named John) and also in subtle ways shows the poverty that people faced. This movie is definitely one you should have in your Disney collection.

Great lesson for kids

My 9 and 10 year old daughters were shocked and disturbed by this movie. What a great lesson for them to learn about how some children suffer. Children who live coddled lives can benefit from seeing the reality of other children's struggles to stay alive.

Loved It...Every Time!

I am not a movie critic so I can't get into all of the details on cinematography, directing, screenplay and scriptwriting. I just know that this was a damn good movie. It was interesting from beginning to end. When I saw it in the theatre I didn't want to get up to go to the restroom and once I bought it I had to watch it right away. I thought the action was amazing...I'm a football fan and I enjoyed the hits, the sounds, the views from the players....I enjoyed it all.I hear lots of people complaining about how long the film was...well I guess that shows how much I enjoyed it because I never noticed that it was any longer than any other film because I was into it from beginning to end.
I thought that Jamie Foxx gave a wonderful and believable performance in his role as Willie Beamon. Al Pacino, Dennis Quaid, Cameron Diaz and Lauren Holly (as usual) did not disappoint. LL Cool J looked like he fit right in with the rest of the cast and I enjoyed the antics of so many of the other characters. LT Taylors performance was great and I had no clue Bill Bellamy had any athletic skills. As a sports fan I especially enjoyed trying to pick out current and former NFL athletes and coaches throughout the film.
Needless to say...I found every aspect of the film enjoyable and I have watched it over and over again. If you like lots of on the field action, lots of hits, lots of contact and great acting from the likes of Al Pacino, you will love this film. You'll watch it over and over again...like I do!

Just loved it :)

This movie is one of two movies that I bought without even seeing it before, and I fell in love with it. Since it came out in the theaters, most of my friends told me that I need to see it. It went out of the theaters before I had a chance to see it. Then one day, I found it on DVD, watched it and then I knew what all of my friends were talking about.
The movie takes place in late 19th century and in a place called the Moulin Rouge. Other than that, there is nothing "period" about it. The whole thing is Baz Luhrman's vision. It is a fast pace rollar coaster through the story with music being the car that you ride in. This is one of the most unique movies that I have seen in a long time. It was refreshing to see something that was not your typical Hollywood film.
Some people didn't like the fact that modern music was being used, but I feel that this aspect brought the feeling of the 19th century into the 21st. It connected me to the movie in a what that could not have been done if music from the time was used. I still find myself singing or humming the songs.
Visually, the movie was beautiful. The costumes were done wonderfully and nothing in that department felt out of place with me.
I will admit, this is not a movie for everyone, but it is one that I will always love and enjoy

Heartwarming John Candy Comedy

This is probably the funniest movie I have ever seen. John Candy and Steve Martin were awesome. Non stop laughs throughout, with a very touching ending. This is a must see.

Sarah Brightman - One Night in Eden - movie DVD cover picture
Lavish costumes, brooding sets and great songs...

"One Night in Eden" combines several different Sarah Brightman albums into one performance, including songs from Timeless ("Who Wants to Live Forever"), Dive ("Dive," "La Mer," "Captain Nemo"), and three songs from Phantom of the Opera ("Phantom Overture/Little Lotti," "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" and "Music of the Night"). The rest of the selections are from Eden, Sarah's 1998 set of classical crossover/cover songs that included "Dust in the Wind" (Kansas), "Il Mio Cuore Va" (James Horner/Celine Dion), "Eden" (Hooverphonic), and a number of classical selections ("Anytime, Anywhere" from Albinoni's Adagio, "Nessun Dorma," "Lascia Ch'io Pianga").
"One Night in Eden" presents us with a lavish staging that is full of dark atmosphere, especially in the opening numbers, complete with hooded dancers and gothic costumes. The selection of songs was excellent, combining the best of Sarah's works in recent years. I particularly enjoyed the selections from "Dive" as Sarah rarely performs her early albums. The sound and picture quality were both crystal clear, with sharp colours and good sound mixing (unlike some issues with the Sarah Brightman La Luna VHS). If you are already a Sarah Brightman fan or are just starting out, "One Night In Eden" is a wonderful concert with many memorable moments, and a look at Sarah Brightman's beautiful soprano voice and her ability to easily perform both classical and pop.
Tracklisting: Introduction/Bailero, In Paradisum, Eden, So Many Things, Who Wants To Live Forever, Anytime, Anywhere, Lascia Ch'io Pianga, Nella Fantasia, Nessun Dorma, Dive;/Captain Nemo, La Mer, II Mio Cuore Va, Only An Ocean Away, First Of May, Phantom Overture & Little Lotti, Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, Music Of The Night, Deliver Me, Time To Say Goodbye, Artist Interview

Yoga Zone: Conditioning & Stress Relief

This was my first yoga zone video. The instruction is very good. Alan Finger is soft spoken, encouraging, and thorough in his instruction. He emphasises that there is benefit at whatever level you may be at. I found this video to be great for me as a beginner. It has given me a love of yoga. I highly recommend it, especially if you are a beginner.

STEAMY CHASE THRILLER IS BRILLIANT

Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo create an amazing chemistry as they slowly fall in love. Compared to the similarly themed Entrapment this is a masterpiece. The initial painting heist is just superb and the later 'action' scenes will have you admiring this great film. Romance, action, drama and suspence this film has it all. Even better than the original.

Powerful Stuff

I've been a Springsteen fan for years, & saw the last tour at the Boston Fleet Center. This DVD captures the power & energy of the live performance like none other! The music comes through beautifully over the croud noise often interfering with live concerts. Great work technically, the sound & video are crystal clear.
The Boss can still rock, Big Time! Thanks, Bruce
