Oh NO. They aren't going to release the other seasons. That is where it gets interesting. Please please release the other seasons and POSSIBLY get some tv commercials for it DURING LOST (with Matthew Fox) you might see a jump in the numbers. I only watch lost because of Fox. I've watched this first season over and over..I need a new one.

"Let me introduce you to my friend Harvey"

Guess what? I'm 15 years old. Why would such a "punk" review a movie from the 50's? Because it bloody well deserves it, THAT'S WHY! I saw this movie on TV one time and I laughed myself silly! James Stewart was apparently a great actor and did a hell of a job making me laugh. Sure it's black and white, sure it doesn't have all the special effects that a "stupid kid" like me would get into, but I know a really funny movie when I see one. I recommend it to everyone.

If you only see one movie this year, see this one..

Instead of going for a more "cosmic" approach, the producers focused the story around more human elements: Spike and Jet breaking up a liquor store holdup to catch a wanted fugitive, followed by the opening credits featuring scenes of city life even if it does take place on Mars. Kids playing, people sitting outside a caf?, people working accompanied by some really sweet jazz music.
The visuals? It was like watching a living Monet painting. The Fight scenes are so well choreographed and filmed that it was like watching an animated Jet Li film. Ed, Ein and Faye Valentine are also added to this marvelous drama and generate some very comical moments. I'm always amazed by Ed, an Anime kid who is actually very funny without being repulsively obnoxious.
Then it got better. The scene where Jet has to elude three military fighter jets (Jet vs. jets? hoo-ha!!) was worth the ticket price by itself.
Slick, stylish and visually stunning...The best anime series just got better.

What took so long?!?!

Finally, after a very long wait, Charmed joins the ranks of other popular series on DVD! I'm hoping that the extras include commentary on a few episodes (at least) and the unaired pilot featuring Lori Rom as Phoebe. The first season was superb, with nary a bad episode in the bunch, and I can't wait to have it on DVD.

West Side Story - movie DVD cover picture

This 1961 film version of of Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein's stage hit begins hopefully. The camerawork, editing, choreography (by Jerome Robbins) and, most of all, music, pulsate with dazzling energy. Then, after a vibrant and exciting ten minutes, it all begins to full apart. It all becomes static and uninventive, failing to live up to the grand promises of that first reel. Most of the musical numbers (especially with the two rather bland leads) are executed with little imagination. A few of the songs fall prey to gimmicky visuals which nowadays look trite.
An at times compelling drama is soured by mediocrity which should never have surfaced, given the immense talent involved here (chiefly Bernstein, Sondheim, and Robbins). What a disappointment!

The Piano - movie DVD cover picture
The erotism made music !

The piano is my favorite instrument . The musical literature has been widely generous with it. Since Bach to Mozart , and from Beethoven to Shostakovich , the piano has proved with all the deserved respect to the rest of the instruments the unbeatable king.
And that special profile that incorporean majesty given through the pianissimos and crescendos makes of it a perfect caleidoscope of sensations and auditive fragancies according the tonal color .
The piano is one the supreme films of the nineties . Conceived as a tribute for the female soul , the movie explores deep laberynths in the soul of a married but unsatisfied woman who only through the music she is friendly about her inners demons and obviously hidden desires .
The decisive argument for developing a poetic and dazzling script where Holy Hunter plays a superb role and Harvey Keitel shows his unexhaustive actoral powers. The locations are really sumptuous with the precise light quantity and the marvelous landscapes working out as an additional actor . The dark forest , the unbeatable , the exquisite close ups and one superb script . Anna Paquin steals the show and excels among all these giants actors .
The credits go besides, to Michael Nyman who inspired himself with such commitment level to offer us his fine moods for this film .
Sublime is one common characteristic of the masterpieces .
And this is one of them.

A soaring good time!

This film leaves you craving for more. You will cheer as the "Feds" and the gansters team up to fight the nazis. Timothy Dalton plays an Erol Flynn type character to the hilt. I've watched this movie several times over and still crave more. Disney, who released this film in 1991 should definitley follow this baby up. The potential for serialization or sequels here is big, big, big!

would have been funnier if Jim Carrey was the Cat

where was Jim Carrey when they filmed this movie? it would have been a lot more funnier. Mike Myers is good at some things, but Jim Carrey would have been a better cat. it starts out with the the threat of Conrad getting sent off to military school, but at the end, Joan dumps her boyfriend for even thinking it. it wasn't that way in the cartoon, but that's Hollywood for you.
