How the West Was Won - movie DVD cover picture
My favorite Western Epic... but I don't know why...

OK, OK, the frame ratio is not 2.35:1 and should be somewhere around 2.66:1, but who cares, considering the wonderful landscapes (some gone nowadays - documentary value!!!), a cast of thousands, who actually work for their money and a principal cast of characters and directors, worth as much gold as all the Oscars ever distributed.A haunting and poetic music covers it all and the off-screen commentary read by Spencer Tracy, is still worth all the money in the world. It's pure Americana, pure escapism, but with tons of poetry and beauty. It might not be a history lesson on how the U.S. developed, but it certainly reflects and sums up, some of the values and faults that still pervade American society today. It's a sincere expression of love for one's Country and as such it is a true love declaration.Despite being just a buggled up product, spanning the early 1820sto the "the fight against outlaws" in the late 1890s, taking one family of settlers as an example, all in it, is America as we know it.Although naive in scope, I love this spectacle, probably because there is something for everybody's taste in it.I can only hope that the people at MGM or at Warners come finally to their senses and will finally release the full widescreen edition of the movie. For the rest, what can I say? This is a "must buy"!

Fast Times at Ridgemont High (Collector's Edition) (High School Reunion Collection) - movie DVD cover picture

I can still remember the first time I saw "Fast Times". It was back in 1983 and this was one of the first tapes I rented when we finally got a VCR. This is a great film because it not only captures a period in time correctly, but it is also right on the money in regards to many of the things that take place in high school. The one thing that really stands out is the way director Amy Heckerling has created a place which it would seem is only inhabited by kids. The only adults in the film who are given any amount of screen time are the teachers. Make sure to watch the film with commentary by Amy Heckerling and Cameron Crowe, that alone is worth the price of this DVD.

This movie was awesome! Great special effects, and I almost cried when I saw it! It was soo sad at the end, but I loved it so much I just had to watch it again! I liked A.J.'s acting a lot! It was the greatest movie I have ever seen as far as action movies go!

This film is pure delight. From the beautiful rolling scenery of Scotland to the haunting soundtrack by Mark Knopfler - this film has it all. Very few films achieve the quaintness and subtle delight that this film presents. My only disappointment is with the DVD - it only comes with a mono soundtrack. A minor quibble really when one considers how good the music is and the emotions of escapism that it produces. Timeless.

The matches were awesome on this ppv especially stone cold's return.Eric Bischoff vs. Stone ColdTest vs. Chris JerichoTriple H Vs. Scott SteinerTeam Angle vs. Edge Benoit and Brock LesnarThe Rock vs. Hogan icon vs. icon II
These were some of the matches on this ppv. Even though Steiner lost to triple H and Hogan got ... out of his match against the rock it was still a great ppv because its all leading up to the grand daddy of them all wrestlemania.

daughter love this tape

While still absolutely captivating to my 18 month and 3 yr old This one is my least favorite of the otherwise amazing line of Videos. One questionable scene has a purple cow "Farting" !!While I guess this is the funny thing to kids now a days (ie. the stuff you see on Nickelodeon in the evenings) I still think this was a surprisingly poor judgement in taste when you consider the proposed audience. I'm trying to teach them manners for crying out loud! I suggest an edited version on the next run.Other than that It's still incredible the appeal of these videos.I've even examined it frame by frame just to see if there some subliminal messaging going on to put my kids into such a state of joy whenever I put it on! Anthony, my 18 month yearold shouts Baby Ba! Baby Ba! ( Baby Bach ) in a near crazed state at the same time before bed and tries to climb the shelf to get the DVDs! Vincent, the 3 yr old still loves them even though he's watched the same ones literally hundreds of times over the past couple of years. Needless to say we have the whole set. A safe bet for your little ones too!

Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - Live at the El Mocambo 1983 - movie DVD cover picture

At the beginning of their career in 1983, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble played a show at the tiny El Mocambo club in Toronto. It was a normal gig, and it was only by chance that there were cameras recording it. But thank god that there were cameras rolling, because if there weren't, music fans everywhere would be deprived of this piece of history. The band plays with basically no pause whatsoever between songs. There is just no weak point at all, and every song is filled with adrenaline and emotional playing from Stevie. The two songs that stand the tallest surely are "Texas Flood," a blues EPIC- and do I mean epic-one of the greatest recordings of the electric guitar ever put to tape, and "Lenny," a slow instrumental where Stevie just goes all out; you can really see that his heart is completely in it. Also definitely worth noting are "So Excited" and Stevie's awesome cover of "Voodoo Child (Slight Return.)" Just the concert alone would be fine, but also included on the DVD is a great interview with Double Trouble about Stevie- his playing and his personality. Don't miss out. This is a must-have.

Quick Workouts

I love this workout. It's easy to follow (after the first time of course), and it's great to be able to choose between one, two or three ten minute workouts. Each one offers a different type of workout, and they're fun. With the DVD it's easy to switch between workouts or do #3 first and #1 second if you want. Highly recommended.
