Must Be On Top Ten Westerns

All the others on this page have done a wonderful job of reviewing this movie, so I will not continue. However I think it is a shame that it is not on any Top Ten lists of westerns. All the lists I have seen are heavy with Ford directed movies depicting the Indians as the bad, the yellow scarved cavalrymen as the good, and the obligatory love interest of some chick riding into indian country on the stage. I suppose it is understandable given the times these were made, etc., but most westerns are a notch below Little Big Man. Outlaw Josie Wales should be in the top ten also, but that rant is for another page.

Seductive ... Captivating ... The Phantom soars!!

Having seen the stage production in all its glory 3 time, I was convinced that the Motion Picture version could never equal the "live" presentation.... I was WRONG... WRONG... WROnG... After viewing the movie version 5 times, I am still mesmerized by the excellence of the production. Emmy Russum is the true "Christine" and fits the role as if she were born for it. Gerald Butler makes his mark as "The Phantom" in the best tradition and his voice and visual reactions gives one, moments that simply do not exist in a stage production.
The visual effects created by cinematography, especially the sequence of the transition from "old theatre to the present" is so realistic, one can almost "smell" the dust in the old theatre as it is transformed. The pagentry of the "Masquerade" number far surpasses the stage version... costumes ... color... lighting... a true masterpiece.
Another memorable moment is on the roof of the Opera House... the Phantom is concealed behind a statue as he listens to Raul and Christine sing of thier love ... with "All I ask of You"....even with all his evil... you can feel the pain in his heart as he watches them embrace. His vocal response in song after they leave is not only touching... but one of the many highlites of the entire production.
If you have any "heart and mind or soul" for beautiful music, that for once, has been performed as the composer intended... you will join me in watching this splendid creation over and over again. See the motion picture... buy the DVD and share this Masterpiece time and again. Thank you Andrew Lloyd Webber

A True Disney Classic!

A lot of the more recent Disney animated films haven't been so great. Definately not movies worthy of being in the Platinum Collection (wich includes to date Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and the Lion King). Brother Bear was so unexpected. I guessed that Disney was trying to cash in on the success of Tarzan (the other Disney film with music by Phil Collins), but the two are nothing alike. I went into the movie thinking the plot would be man turns into a bear resulting in good family fun. There is so much more to it. I really don't want to give anything away because the story takes you through so many surprises. The moose and the young bear, koda, definately steal the show, but you really do care for Kenai, the man who turns into a bear. I think Disney should have released this film after Home On The Range, the next and last Disney hand animated movie. That way they could go out with a bang. Home on the Range looks good, but good like Emporors New Groove was good. I really hope they change their mind and make more hand drawn, because I get sick of computer animation after a while. Take your family or friends to see Brother Bear. There is something for everyone in it.

Really GREAT!!!!

I picked up this DVD in the hopes my daughter would enjoy it. She was rather young to watch a full length movie at the time. However I would like to say that I found it rather enjoyable. The story is original and you cannot say enough about the Pixar animation. I can now say it is one of my favorite animated movies!!!!Maybe I really picked it up for myself...........

DTS Defines Dragonslayer!

I've watched this movie in other formats and finally was able to play Dragonslayer on my new DTS system - absolutely fantastic.
To hear every distinct wing beat as he circles above left me realizing the time and effort for DTS is worth every bit.
Got to have it!

A melting pot of talent!

This was the 2nd outing for Astaire and Rogers, it features more dance numbers than the previous film and they are more clipped and rehearsed here, but loose non of their trademark elegant appeal for it.
The plot is silly froth but that adds to the delight of the movie, there is, as there subsequently always was, a fine support cast of great comedic value here provided by Eric Blore, Edward Everett Horton, Erik Rhodes and the marvellous Alice Brady (she never did another Astaire/Rogers movies but is brilliantly dotty here!)
The sets are absolute Art Deco delights! check out the Brighton hotel were most of the action takes place!
And we are introduced to other film and music talents, Betty Grable and Cole Porter to name two. The latter gives us the classic "Night and Day", for the first time on film and Fred and Ginger set it alight with their beautifully agonising, almost balletic moves and their is a lot of sexual energy to this number, Fred even offers Ginger a cigarette when they are done!
The "Continental" is equally riviting, the first of their trademark ballroom, swing numbers with a riot of tap thrown in. A really joyous romp, kind of British theatre farce meets Hollywood musical; incredible!

Very nice set

To answer "alex alexes" question basically only front nudity
is censered. swears r clear as day, and you see don vitos a$$. so if your mom doesnt like that your screwed.

Anyway, i just recived my copy of viva la bam seasons 2 and 3, 2 days ago and i was very plzed with wut i got. all though there is no commentary like on the first season i belive the shear halarity makes up for that and the price I mean this pack cost 30 dollars for 2 season and season one is 22 for 1 season but season one does have more bounus metarial.
These two seasons of viva la bam you get a bilive r funnier then the first season and my favorite is season 3 becuase theres an episode with johnny knoxville and im a big fane of jackass jack ass.
within these two season you get to see things like a crab garb on to rakes "ummm.. you know", and see dunns saran rap wake up. you also get to see bams "mum mum" go insane on a camra man after shes shes vitos tatto of bruce springscen on his ass. i was laughing so hard i started to chough. oh and you get to see bam and friends destroy i think four of vittos cars.
Bonus thing,
there r deleted seances and some r vrey funny i think the makers of viva la bam should put those back into the show and have less commercials

all in all this is a very good box set it has three dsics 2 for the seasons and one for the bonus thing. BUY THIS NOWWWW!!
