They are really good!

I don't know why this DVD was lauched in Brazil at the beggining of this year (2003)and only now in the US. Really great concert for the "Monsters of Rock" in 1991. 18 songs, over 2 hours of pure rock. You can buy it with your eyes closed.

Musical news report

A delightful and highly entertaining news report about kids by Herry Monster (with Elmo and Telly) interspersed with songs that describe our differences (hair color, eye color, skin color) and emphasize our similarities. My seven month old loves it and has been watching it for the past 3 months.

DON'T WAIT FOR THE CHRISTMAS PARTY! GET IT TODAY!

This has to be one of the most fun movies of all time. The music is GREAT! The acting is GREAT! The singing is GREAT! In a word, it's GREAT!!! The way such strong talent as Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Channing and Beatrice Lillie all mesh is amazing. No upstaging.. no trying to steal the show. Just working together to make non-stop, glorious entertainment. Too long? Not a chance. How can something so fun, visually and audibly pleasing, and well-crafted be too long. Many of my friends who aren't fond of musicals really like this one! GET IT!!!!

The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
The Quest for the Ring and the Companions who joined it!

The "Fellowship of the Ring" is an adventure story, the story of the quest that was started in "The Hobbit" to keep the ring safe that Bilbo has, and make sure that Frodo returns the ring into the fire. It is a children's fantasy tale come to life. It is the story of the members of the "Fellowship" many who did not seek to go on the adventure that they find themselves on. And they rely on "Strider" or Aragorn, who is a Ranger, to help them make their way. It is the most brilliantly executed film that you will ever see! It is the most beautifully done film that can be viewed. And Sean Bean, who plays "Boromir" joins "Frodo" the Ring bearer, as the bravest warriors of them all who will strive to overcome all obstacles to make sure that the "Fellowship is safe, and that Frodo is safe! The story and the beloved characters will remain with you after you watch the film! And the beauty will continue with the "Two Towers," in December. I have the Sean Bean club on Yahoo Groups, come together and talk about his warrior spirit, as the one character who was so entranced with the ring that he sought possession of it. Its a film that you will never forget! And the companions will make you weep, and they will make you smile! This film is one that you will never forget!

Unbelievable as well as untouchable

I was ecstatic at finding this DVD in the American format and so I ordered it instantly. The DVD takes a while to play as it has to show three or four production logos but these can be scanned past. Menus are easy to use and the view any match feature is a brilliant idea. Picture quality is very good and having the actual british commentators is a good touch. Finally the football contained on this DVD is spectacular and anyone who has an interest in soccer owes it to themselves to watch the highlights of the historical achievement of Arsenal Football Club. Unbeaten champions 2003/2004!

i'm a zit, get it!!!!

a funny as they come and probably the best Lampoon next to Vaction and Loaded Weapon 1. John Belushi, you gotta love his character and my favorite moment of his is when hes spying on the sorority girls, funny as hell. other funny parts include shooting at the horse, Stephen Furst in the horse pen, where Belushi's trying to cheer Furst up by bashing bottle over his head and the part where the man with the guitar is singing, Belushi takes his guitar and smashes his guitar against the wall and then says. "sorry", ah hell its all funny

I loved it!

The dubbing in this version is excellent. None of the voices seem out of place and they are expertly melded into the movie. I kinda wish they had put the Chinese voice track and English subtitles on this CD, but the quality makes you forget about that. Jet is awesome as usual. It may not be jam-packed with fighting scenes, but you'll be satisfied by the end of this movie. Also, Jet pays homage to Fist of Legend in part of his last fight where he uses his belt. The movie keeps you guessing who the "King of Killers" is til the end. All in all it's pure Jet Li joy and I recommend it to hardcore fans and newcomers alike.

Learn To Play Django-Style Gypsy Jazz Guitar #2 - movie DVD cover picture
A good-level masterclass

Part 2 of 2 of Paul Mehling's instructional exploration of Gypsy Jazz guitar techniques, this 1-hour DVD plays like a high-level masterclass. Of all the possible ways in which this rather broad topic could be explored, Mehling chose the most musical - and the most disappointing for those who just want to "pick up a few licks."

He gives the tools to acquire and practice the musical and technical ideas for this complex style. This he does by breaking down Django's style into its main musical building blocks: picking patterns, arpeggios, scales, embellishments, left-hand techniques. For each of these elements, Mehling shows the correct way in which to "think them out," study them, practice them and grow them into musical improvisation.

Furthermore, he gives insightful advice on preferred voicings, on whether or not to "think modally," and on good ways to become agile and intimately acquainted with the fretboard. As he does in part 1 on comping, he teaches to fish rather than handing the viewer the catch of the day.

I would have taken off a half-star for editing - some of the demonstrations could have used another take, but again, this has the extemporaneous freshness of an masterclass caught on DVD. Also, I have meditated on whether Mehling should have expanded on the Gypsy "rest stroke" of the right hand - but I think that doing so in the context of a one-hour lesson would have been less than practical.

For the casual guitarist who just wants to strum a few ready-made lines, this is definitely not the right buy. But for anyone seriously willing to understand some of the foundations of Django's style - and willing to dedicate it some serious hours of "active" learning - this is a great resource.

Excellent animation and sound! A fun DVD set! :)

I first discovered Cowboy Bebop on the cartoon network and just absolutely fell in love with it. That made me want the whole series on DVD, but I just didn't have the bucks to justify that kind of outlay. Here's where this set comes in really handy. If you really like Bebop and want a good taste of some of the best without paying an arm and a leg, then this is the set for you!
The sound is a bit cleaned up, too, which is nice, even if you don't have a top-of-the-line stereo system.
All in all, a very enjoyable DVD set!
