Luther is a Beautiful and Inspirational Film

After my pastor mentioning this movie in church a few weeks ago, I made a note to myself to watch Luther. My pastor has a doctorate in theology and says one of his minors is in Martin Luther history. He really likes Luther and the stand he took against the Catholic church. Although he's not a Luthern preacher, he stated that this movie is about 80% correct. In Hollywood, I feel this is a great score for historical accuracy.

I'm a staunch Christian and teach seventh grade history to middle school students. While watching this movie, I immediately wanted to show this superb show to my students. It was awesome. I could feel the schism between the reformers and the Catholic church as I listened to the musical score. There are chanting voices that are at war with eerieness. The costumes were rich with beauty and authenticity. The acting was full of emotion and each character served a purpose in furthering the plot and gaining the audience's heart.

I really couldn't find fault in this movie. If anything, I wanted to see more film footage on the DVD extras. I now believe I'll buy the movie soundtrack and have students use the score for their Power Point presentations. Christians need to buy this movie and show it to their children and families. We live in a country that forgets about how hard it was to gain our Christian freedoms and Luther was the first to protest tyranny. God has used this historical figure to change the world and make it a better place.

The scenerary, camera angles, story, and dialogue were powerful and moving to my heart. I've always been fond of the movie Braveheart, and after seeing Luther, I found even more emotion for this world-changer. It's hard to capture the life of one giant in two hours, but this movie excels in bringing Martin Luther to the hearts and minds of the twenty-first century. I know people should study more of their heritage, but most won't do it. Yet this movie might make them more aware of the impact Luther had on the world and dig deeper into their history books.

The sound mixers did a wonderful job of pounding the hammer noise into my ears as Luther posted his list of grievances against the Catholic church.

My major disappointment is not against this DVD, but I now wish I had known about Luther when it came out in theaters. Luther is the type of film that deserves to be heralded as a fantastic film based soundly on history.

Watch this film if you're a Christian. Watch this film if you like great historical films. Watch this film if you like good movies period.

Another Sailor Moon Classic.

I loved it. It was great. I thought the idea of Sailor Chibi Moon falling in love was so cute. It had a great story line and I hope that we will get more Sailor Moon movies as good as R, S, and this one(Super S). This movie is of course good because it is not dubbed and it has good subtitles...
Sailor Moon Super S has a great sound track and a good theme. I didn't find it as good as the other two because it has a puppy love theme and not deep passionate love like between Usagi and Mamoru(Sailor Moon R) or between Kakeru and Luna(Sailor Moon S). The romance was mostly friendship based which was very good...
The movie is about the bad guy trying to take over the earth through a Black Dream Hole. Everyone will fall asleep and dream happily...and it will seem like the earth is dead. Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon destroy this evil together. There are some more good attacks in this one also...
I hope that everyone will add this to their Anime library.

Although not as good as Star Wars, The Mummy and Star Wars have some things in common... Both have a REALLY cute (and I mean REALYY cute) guy (as in Ewan {obiwan} and Brendan {the american cute guy}). Both have cool plots. Both are good movies. Does that about sum up why U and i mean U shuld buy both The MUmmuy and Star Wars? I hope so!

Should be in every classic movie collection!

Quite simply, the definitive horror film, even surpassing the original "Frankenstein" (which was no slouch of a film). This one holds up so well after all those years. After many more years, you can bet it will still be viewed and admired, while many of the modern and "spectacular" horror films will be forgotten. This one combines true horror, pathos, and just the right touches of humor at just the right time. And if you get this film, you will double your appreciation for Mel Brook's wonderful and affectionate parody of the Frankenstein films -- "Young Frankenstein." A film for the ages... bring it back to life at least every Halloween!

The best love story ever.

This movie was incredible to say the least. Robin Williams was at his best. The special effects were breathtaking. And the story itself was such that it breaks your heart and then puts it back together with a very warm and fuzzy sensation. A must see for anyone who has ever been in love!

The 10th Kingdom - movie DVD cover picture

This review applies to the DVD version, which, for some reason is not showing up here at Amazon, even though I know it exists since I own it. I won't go into detail about the film since everybody else did that already. The DVD does have some interesting extras, especially a short about the making of the Tenth Kingdom and a spur of the moment Troll Song by the Troll Trio. We've already watched the film once on TV and twice on DVD; there's so much in it that it can easily be enjoyed many times. The Tenth Kingdom is the most completely enjoyable film experience I have ever had; it is simply superlative in every way, able to be viewed and enjoyed by anyone.

Best Vietnam War Movie.

If you want to know how the vietnam war was buy this movie. Its very realistic, its the second most realistic war movie ever (saving private ryan is the first of course). Its got a lot of war action, very chaotic with lots of explosions like the real thing. Its got good performances from the three main characters dafoe, berenger, and sheen. Its sad and funny at times, very dramatic when dafoe gets shot. It truely depicts the terrible things in war, definetly worthy of the best pic oscar. 9 out of a 10.
