Love to sing the with the Oompa Loompas

I bought this DVD and sing the songs with the movie. I found the words at It's a great site to go with the movie. Brings back great memories of my childhood. I hope the new edition compares with the original. Widescreen Edition is packed with great interviews and it's also fun to see the actors grown up. Four Stars!

Bram Stoker's Dracula - movie DVD cover picture
"We've all become God's madmen. All of us."

Francis Ford Coppolla's stylish, bloody vision of Bram Stoker's infamous novel borders on greatness. Minor flaws (mostly performance wise) make this merely a good, beautiful Horror film. Gary Oldman as the Count has got to be the best rendition of the character ever brought to life. Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Van Helsing does a superb job. Wynonna Rider as Mina is believable. But then we get to Keanu Reeves, Mr. Mannequin himself. Probably one of the worst casting mistakes in the history of film, Reeves plays Harker with all the passion of a rotting log, making an integral character annoying at best. Thankfully his on screen time is limited and we can enjoy the eerie sliding motions of the Old Count, the crawling down the walls, the shadow an entity all its own. The blood and gore levels are high, the effects truly astounding. Purists argue that too much liberty was taken with the source material, and in some areas I have to agree. The level of the blossoming love between the Count and Mina was just a tad bit over the top, but we can't have the same movie over and over again. Coppola's vision is all in all satisfying, loyal enough to its source to quench most Horror fans bloodthirst. For some reason, taken as a whole, this film works. I just calls 'em as I see 'em. Required viewing for all the children of the night.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Special Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
it was good

I saw this movie recently and was surprised at how completely unwatchable it was. Robert Redford and Paul Newman mug their way through the action from start to finish, looking much more like self-conscious movie stars than train robbers or gun-slingers of the old west.
"Butch and Sundance" is not completely without interest to the casual observer of American cultural sensibilities, however. The most significant moment in the film by far is the scene where Paul rides his bicycle around a barnyard, flashing his legendary grin for all the world to see. As the dream-like Katherine Ross gazes at him adoringly, we hear B.J. Thomas sing Burt Bacharach's "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head." As I watched this taking place, I realized that I was witnessing the birth of the 1970s.
In spite of such curiosities, "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid" is quite simply one of the most overrated Hollywood films of all time. If you want to see an excellent film from that era about "the old west," I would suggest you get a copy of Robert Altman's "McCabe and Mrs. Miller."

Wesley kicks butt!!!!!!

It's about time we get what was due to us. Blade is a phenomenon that was waiting to happen. Wesley gets to finally show some of his skills as a Fifth degree black belt along with Donnie what's his name. Be prepared to witness high flying action and unrelentfull vampireism in this movie. Hope we aren't disapointed

Almost as good as Stranger

I loved Down by Law. It's a good place to start if your just getting into Jarmusch. It's more accessible than Stranger Than Paradise. The humor is broadrt and there's a firmer story line. However, Stranger Than Paradise is his masterpiece.

A Great Documentary

By the end, the viewer has been on that rollercoaster as to whether or not they are guilty. If "Fogs of war" did not come out this year, I'd say this was the best documentary of 2003.

One of the Most Underrated Movies Ever

The "Usual Suspects" is a movie that has been since it's release very underrated. This film will keep you on your seat from beginning to end and unlike most movies nowadays does not drop off with a predictable ending. Kevin Spacey won a best Supporting Actor Oscar for his preformance and I can honestly say it is one of the finest I have ever seen. A great movie, one that if you have not seen, I highly suggest it.
