Love it; anyway to contact Spelling Ent. for an OST???

It's excellent show with a fabulous cast, think it could have gone far but none can replace Mark Frankel.

I could go on about how great it is- but other reviews have done it justice so instead I shall just say it is the best Vampire series I have ever come across- Buffy, Angel- none come close. Instead I shall just ask this question: How can one contact Spelling Entertainment and get them to release a soundtrack? they featured some wonderful music- Alexandra's theme, the love theme for sasha and cash on romeo and juliet, julian flying over his city: the list goes on.

Absolutely amazing

No other movie series ever made can compare to the magnificence of the LOTR series. These three movies combined make up the most action packed, adventurous, and dramatic movie epic you'll ever experience. What I find most interesting is how they're based around olden day Anglo-Saxon/Norse mythology. Well anyways, I highly recommend these movies, especially "Return of the King," to anyone who loves the old fashion battle scenes with castles, trebuchets, archers, and knights.

Around the World in 80 Days (Two-Disc Special Edition) - movie DVD cover picture

Around the World in 80 Days has aged better than most think. The film does show alot of long cinematic scenes. But it is funny (The ending is just hilarous, if you get it). Over 40 stars make apperances, if only brief, in the film. The only ones I could identify where Red Skeleton, Frank Sinatra and Buster Keaton. Then again, I am younger than this movie. Anyway, It's long, and old. But with performances by David Niven and an excellent one by Cantinflas, this movie is a classic indeed.

There has never been a movie like this before. It's orignality and visuals are the best I have ever seen. For any first time viewer of anime this is the movie that will get you hooked. It's mind bending graphics and storyline is incredable, but you have to experiance it for yourself.

Is This Really a 5-Star Movie...?

Probably not, but I love it and am giving it 5 stars anyway.

This movie sets out to be a very simple narrative, a quest/revenge story, in which Wilson, an aged cockney criminal fresh from a 9-year stint "at Her Majesty's leisure," sets out to learn the truth about his estranged daughter's death in Los Angeles. Along the way, though, it becomes a thoughtful story about self-discovery, of lives lived in one direction and understood (tragically too late) in all lives are.

This flick is full of great performances. Stamp is great as the cool, deliberate, and ruthless Wilson, a man who is not gratuitously violent, but not at all hesitant to use it when it suits his needs or satisfies his desire. He is a fearless--and probably foolish--criminal who has spent half his life behind bars and has become thoughtful, introspective.

Barry Newman, another hippie-era cult star (Vanishing Point, 1971), fills his supporting role as Valentine's (Peter Fonda) head of security with a snarling grittiness that contrasts with Fonda's whiney, pampered aging record producer character hilariously. Nicky Katt his equally hilarious as an idiot hitman who takes himself very seriously ("Hey, this is a lifestyle I embrace!").

I don't think this movie's non-linear editing is at all confusing. While shots from one part of the narrative are frequently inserted into scenes in another part, they make perfect sense within their "new" contexts, even if they are temporally out of place, and this editing reflects perfectly the idea that this story is one that is reflected upon, not told as it actually happens, and the realization that past actions can't help but define the present.

This movie is a treat, and worth seeing. It's a shame the DVD doesn't have any interviews or commentary, though, because I would like that access to the artists' insights into their own work.

Better than the first!

I had heard many times that the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was a great movie. When I saw the preview for the remake, I decided that I wanted to see the original movie before going to view the remake. I went to see the 2003 version last night, and there is no comparison. It is FAR better than the original.
The original movie might have been great for it's time, but it really pales in comparison to horror/slasher flicks of more recent years, including this current remake. The genre as a whole has really changed, and thus audience expectations have as well. What may have been scary, gory, and tense before is no longer the standard for more current films.
One BIG difference that I found (and liked) between the two versions is the variance in plot. The new movie goes into much more detail, and explains things that I felt were left out in the original movie. There were gaps in the plot of the original movie which the new version tries to fill. Sure, they did have to change some plot elements completely, but not only did this keep you surprised (if you are familiar with the first film), it also helped the flow of the story tremendously. Another difference was the "scare factor." I was MUCH more scared watching this movie than I was viewing the original. I actually jumped in my seat at a few parts during this film. Nispel did a great job of keeping the tension maintained throughout the movie's entirety. There was also more gore as well. Another thing I enjoyed was the acting. I found the actors/actresses in this version to be much more likeable and believable than in the original film.
As a side note, I like the fact that the film-makers tried to make the plot out to be a "true story." I was even handed a fake police report as I was walking into the theater. Though this movie is very loosely based on a true story (so loosely that it shouldn't even really be considered a "true story"), I thought the extra effort added to the scariness of the movie, and helped make the plot more cohesive.
Overall, I really think this movie does a great job of updating a classic to be a more viewable movie for modern audiences. If you enjoy more recent horror movies, and like being scared, then go see this film! Be forewarned: it will make you not want to eat meat for a while!
