I never thought I would find a DVD my 10 month old would like as much as Baby Neptune, but I was wrong! She loves this DVD. Her favorite part is during the sequence for the color red. The racecars make her laugh out loud. Great addition to any Baby Einstein collection!

White Pin Good, Black Pin Baaaad...

Richard Boone plays Bob Craft, recently appointed chairman of a lovely little cemetery. He takes the job reluctantly, trying his best to get out of it. In his new, appropriately cold office, he notices a map on the wall. It is a map of the cemetery plots, both occupied (represented by black pins) and reserved (white pins). Craft accidentally sticks black pins in the plots of a newlywed couple who just left on their honeymoon. Grave error! The lovebirds wind up dead in a car wreck. Haunted by the implications of this "coincidence", Craft tries it again, sticking a black pin into some poor slob's plot at random. The scene switches to show the latest member of the boneyard club as he slumps over. Craft's co-workers decide to prove it's all rubbish by having black pins stuck into their 3 plot spaces. Was this a good idea? Watch and find out! The plot thickens with a twisty end...

Favorite Film

As I am not a rabid fan of Madonna's I really saw no reason for her to get an academy award except for the fact that she was in a serious movie for once and Sean Penn was nowhere in sight. She sings, she kind of acts, and it's all very trite.
The star of this movie is Banderas. He's a powerful presence that controls every frame that he's in. The only time that Madonna shines in the movie is when she and Banderas are having their fantasy debate over the politics of the country. They have a great chemistry, or at least a better one than their last movie outing (which would be the egotistical Truth or Dare where Banderas smiled at Madonna, nodded to his wife, and let her know that he was not going to be getting into this woman's list of sexual conquests). Jonathan Pryce is pretty good too, but he has nothing to work with.
The rest of the movie is boring. Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Weber have ruled Broadway by creating epic pangeants on the basis of two songs. Almost every single song in this movie is a rehash of "don't cry for me Argentina" that you kind of hate that song when they finally sing it. THere's a second song in the thing too, but I forget it. The only decent piece is that revolution song sung by Banderas the chronicles the shifting allegiances of a country that pulls a military coup every six months. It's a dopy rock opera song but at least it's not so blatantly the main song rehashed.
The plot of the movie is non-existant. Actually that's not accurate. The plot of the movie happens in the first hour. Eva comes to the capital, beds a bunch of guys, ends up with Juan Peron, becomes first lady based both on her personality than his political manuvering.
The rest of the movie has her dying of cancer. And dying of cancer, and still dying of cancer. I know that cancer is a long painful drawn out process but how realistic do you want to be with it? Especially when you are making the movie into a long painful drawn out process.
So buy it if you are a diehard fan of either Madonna, Banderas or Andrew Lloyd Weber but be prepared to be mildly disappointed. If you have no interest in either of these people, buy something else like Cabaret.

Hillarious - Better for Open minded

Boys trying to lose their virginity, girls waiting for the right time, moment etc. The same old cat and mouse high school antics. The plot only deals with sex. Good ending though. This film is not for anyone under 16, or over 21. Though it has it's moments, (the laxative scene) a comedy it's not! It is a teeny porn film disguised as a comedy. If I were a 16-21 year old as opposed to a father with impressionable sons, this would be a great film. Although it's not graphic visually, the dialogue is very graphic. It could have been done more tastefully, and the message at the end would have had more effect.

Eccentric Colin Firth.

Playing the dad to a rather large brood of children in Scottish highlands and running a moss factory of sorts. Charming story told from the viewpoint of his son, Frasier.

One of Hollywood's best.... and an Oscar Grand Slammer too

This movie is awesome. My teacher recommended it to me and I liked Jack Nicholson so I bought the DVD. It's great and the remaster is awesome. The DVD is well packaged and the "Making of" featurette is great. And hey who could forget about the actual movie. It's thoughtful, strong, captivating and there isn't any scene that's unimportant. Plus the Actors were superb. Historic Movie . Worthy of every Oscar it got. The ending was unexpected too (unless you read the book). Plus it's funny which I like. I've got to read the book someday.Although my only gripe was that they could have interviewed Jack Nicholson in the "Making of..".

MIB! An excellent DVD!

I have to say, I loved MIB and I thought it couldn't get any better, but this DVD proved me WRONG! IT KICKED BUTT! It had Everything a MIB fan could hope for. How they made it, edited scenes, commentaries and oodles of goodies. I loved how they had the MIB warning in place of the FBI one as soon as I popped the disc into the player! THIS IS AN EXCELLENT FILM AND DVD! I highly recommend it to any Sci Fi, Comedy, Action or Tommy Lee Jones-Will Smith-Linda Fiorentino fan out there!

Stunning, Spellbinding

These two films by Godfrey Reggio are absolute poetry in motion and music. I have been waiting for their release on DVD since the format was introduced; I have literally worn out my VHS copy of 'Koyaanisqatsi'. The only films of this type which come close to equalling the quality of these two films are the films of Ron Fricke (Baraka, for example [which I also recommend]). I cannot recommend any films more highly.

Very well made thrillers.

The first sniper film staring Tom berenger as Thomas Beckett who is a professional army veteran and sniper and also staring Billy Zane as Richard miller who has won an olympic gold medal as a marksman, they are both assigned on a covert mission deep in the south american jungle to eliminate a notorious colombian drug cartel but all sorts of problems happen. The film is more like a psychological thriller and drama with a few great action scenes like when Miller first arrives in a hellicopter and almost gets gunned down. Its obvious that these two films are low budget but they were made very well with an inteligent story, the second film takes place in the Balkans on a dangerous rescue and assassination mission with a deathrow inmate, seargent Thomas Becket who is retired goes on a final mission this time the film has more action scenes to it than the first which I thought was O.K. but not as good as the first film. There were no stealth manouvering and it seems like they just wanted it be more like a standard action film, now if you don't like straight to video action films then you shouldn't even think about getting these films but if you do then I deffinently recommend these two as both of these films are entertaining in their own way.
