Kick Ass Sunday Night Spy Thriller!

I've been a huge fan of Alias since the first season. Some thought season three was a let down, but in my opinion it was a continuation of great television from J. J. Abrams and the Alias cast. This is a must have collection for any true Alias fan! Anyone new to Alias should think about purchasing or renting this collection to help catch up on the story line.

Alias is a great show, and is one show I'm sure to never miss!

An American tragedy

Portraying the life of a man larger than life is indeed a daunting task, but in this movie Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio succeed admirably. Many people today are unaware of the details of Howard Hughes' life and this movie brings a new generation up to speed on the highs and lows of this brilliant man. At first I thought that DiCaprio was an odd choice to portray the eccentric millionaire, but as the movie progresses, DiCaprio seems to grow into the role. Hughes was a man who admitted to no impossibilities once he made up his mind to do something. Whether it was producing a ridiculously over-budget movie or designing a plane that seemed doomed to failure, he never gave up in the face of overwhelming odds. He seemed fascinated with Hollywood movie stars and the depiction of his relationship with Katherine Hepburn (played with uncanny accuracy by Cate Blanchett)is a high point in the film. Unfortunately the demons of obsessive-compulsive disorder ultimately overcame his brilliance, and the movie accurately depicts his descent into madness. This is a fascinating and well-made biopic.

A really charming film

It's been a while since I came out from a movie without the desire to go to the box office to ask for a few bugs back. "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" is definately one of the best films I have seen in years. The story is simple and the characters ordinary, yet there is much one can relate to the story and the characters in the movie. It is the movie that gathers the charm of everyday life and the gives much hope to the audiences. This is really a movie worth watching over and over again.

It's a Wonderful Life - movie DVD cover picture
My all-time favorite!

I love this movie and it's a Christmas tradition to watch it with as many of my five kids as I can get together. It has helped me through some pretty tough times.
As a young boy in the 50s and 60s I grew up watching old movies on television with my mother. Jimmy Stewart has always been my favorite actor, not in any small measure because of this movie. It was my mother's fondness for him that initially led me to this great discovery. Having my own roots in a small community of western Pennsylvania, only 60 miles from Jimmy's hometown, helped to cement my affinity for him as well. I'm such a big fan of both him and this work that a copy of an original poster for this film hangs in my living room.
One of my greatest regrets is that, despite my exposure to what were even then "old" movies during my youth, I hadn't yet seen "It's a Wonderful Life" when I had the opportunity of meeting both director Frank Capra AND actor Jimmy Stewart on separate occasions while in college. I would have liked to have told them how much the movie meant to me. (As if they hadn't heard that before!) I found great pleasure in later learning that both Capra and Stewart said of all their movies, this one was their favorite.
Moving and inspiring the film is a human drama that touches my funny bone and my innermost senses in ways few movies ever do. It's an all-American timeless classic with a message of personal struggle and hope. In all it's simplicity it is simply great entertainment while at the same time leaving us no doubt as to the essential truth of what's *really* important in life.
Yes it's a bit sappy, certainly sentimental. Yes it's in black and white (unless you happen to see the "colorized " version) and granted it's an "oldie," but if you don't like this movie I can only have pity for you.
We all matter. We all have purpose. Despite what we might think at times, it IS a wonderful life and we have much to be thankful for.
"Each man's life touches so many other lives. If he wasn't around, it would leave an awful hole." -- Clarence
At least that's the way we should all live and hope it shall be.

First there was ALIEN, then came,PREDATOR now theres SPECIES

I must say, I am somewhat surprised at all the negative reviews and reviews that it is just a tit flick. I have always thought Species was one of the better sci-fi films of it's time. Sure, it's no Aliens, but what else is? Species is much more than just waiting to see Natasha nude, it has a very compelling story, good special effects, and characters that interest you. And no, I'm not just a Natasha fan. As proof, I thought Species II was lame. Species II, in no way, compares to the original.

Model to Actress... Excellent Job

Luc Besson has done some spectacular movies. This is not one of them. Milla's over-acting creates a character who is both annoying and difficult to believe. None of the central characters are easy to empathize with so one doesn't really care if they live or die. The violence seems unnecessary and gruesome. The script is choppy and the dialog is forced. Go watch The Professional instead.

The Best of the Live Bjork DVDs

I own all the other live performance DVDs Bjork has released and this is by far the best. She finally realized that her fans are too obsessed with her and need bonus material. She has provided a lot of bonus material. Most importantly, a behind-the-scenes look at the tour and the album, Vespertine.
Of course, you don't buy a DVD just for the bonus material. The actual performance is still the best part. She has surrounded herself with an orchestra, the Greenland choir, Zeena Perkins and Matmos and the effect is phenomenal. Every song is lush and it makes for an interesting treatment of Vespertine's quieter songs. I wholeheartedly recommend shelling out the extra bucks to buy this DVD if you are a devoted Bjork fan. And if you aren't, then what are you even doing looking at this page?

SUPERB and INDELIBLY MOVING!

PLEASE!! Please release all 3 seasons! Oh, and if you could.. PLEASE MAKE THEM AVAILABLE TO THE CONSUMERS!! ...I traveled for hours.. HOURS to find this EXCELLENT Series and was SO disappointed in the fact that other shows released to dvd on the same day were readily available but, THE BEST SHOW, "Once And Again" wasn't even on the computers for MOST of the stores I tried.. HELLO! ...FINALLY!! Media Play *THANK GOD!* had the set.. after hours of driving in the rain.. but, you know what.. take one look at this set.. you'll see that I didn't do nearly enough to deserve the quality and immense pleasure of this brilliantly casted masterpiece of a show. I am eagerly awaiting the last 2 seasons.. proof of intelligent, moving, thoughtful, forever-endearing programs are possible and able to be distributed to the masses..even if there seemingly isn't enough of the good ones *people* out there to appreciate it. ALSO, BUY "BACK TO THE FUTURE" on DVD!! :) Thank you kindly for your time and patience~

Jeffrey Dahmer's Training Video

Great acting and dialogue here. The women are attractive and naked all the time. The sadists are fully in control of their female captives whom they torture mercilessly. This is the perfect video to watch on that "first date". She'll be cuddling up to you in no time. Pass the popcorn.
