Keeps my toddler's attention

This DVD is our favorite Elmo's World DVD. It keeps his attention for almost every minute... almost. My chief complaint is general for ALL Elmo's World episodes: Mr. Noodle. He is irritating and can't hold my son's attention. Other than that, it is fantastic. He loves it when Elmo opens the door and the clothes fall on him. He giggles when Elmo gets a sock stuck on his nose.

Intriguing look at the rise and fall of the Roman Empire

I saw this series originally on television. TLC ran it a couple of times, and I thought it was one of the best documentary type series I have seen. It was very interesting to learn about where the founders of the city of Rome came from, how the city grew, and how the empire expanded. If you are interested in Rome, this is a great series to watch.

That OCTOPOD monster is so FUN

It's sure great to get the complete first season on DVD, but even though A and E never said anything about the Season One Documentary, all these other DVD ordering places are. I don't know were they are getting their info, but there is no Documentary on the last season one DVD. I sincerely hope to see the Fanderson Documentary (or whatever) shows up on the future Year 2 DVD sets. The trailers are pretty cool, though. All 24 of them. All four of these box sets are a must have....

Zombies are great fun!

Romero's work is a bit cheesy sometimes, but it will remain a permanent part of the horror film genre forever. I mean cheesy in an affectionate way because we have to remember this time period where violence in film was not normal and in glorious gory digital details. It was new then and budgets were tight and makeup technology was being pioneered by Savini.
This remake is visually stunning and the excitement of the 'fast zombie' cannot be denied regardless of your loyalty to Romero. I do think more character development seemed a bit short the first (and only) time I saw this film.
Zack Synder stands on the shoulders of Romero and I do think he has made an awesome film that does the genre true justice.
Can't wait to own the DVD. Hurry up, please!

Mel Brooks's Best Movie!!!

Spaceballs is by far the best Mel Brooks movie I've seen. The movie begins with Princess Vespa of Planet Druidia, being forced to marry a clutzy, inenpt prince named Vallum. Vespa doesn't love him, but he's the last prince in the galaxy. To avoid the marriage, Vespa and her servant droid, Dot Matrix, escape in her Mercedes space car and hide out. Meanwhile, the ruthless Spaceballs are out to get every breath of air from Planet Druidia, so they decide to kidnap Vespa and hold her as a bargaining chip to convince her father, King Roland, to give them the combination to the sheild that stores their air. To find her, Roland calls on a space pirate named Lone Starr, who at first refuses because he's number one on the hit list of Dark Helmet, leader of the Spaceballs. But then Lone Starr remembers he owes money to Pizza the Hut, a notorious gangster made of pizza. When Roland agrees to give him one million Spacebucks in exchange for his daughter's safe return, Lone Starr is out to find her. When he does, it's obivous the princess and pirate don't get along. However, when his Winebago camper spaceship crashes on a desert moon called Vega, they get closer, and Lone Starr tells her the story of his life, which begins with his parents leaving him at a monestary, where the monks took a vow of silence not to tell him about them. His only clue is a medalion he wears around his neck, which he's taken to every wise man in the universe, but none of them could tell him what it meant, which leads them to a know-it-all named Yogurt, who is also the keeper of a great power called the Schwartz. Meanwhile, the Spaceballs intercept Vespa and take her back to Planet Spaceball, home of the Spaceballs. King Roland finally gives them the combination to the sheild. and by turning their flagship, Spaceball One, into a statue with a vacaum cleaner called Megamaid, they start stealing air. Lone Starr finds them, which leads to a Schartz battle with Dark Helmet, which in turn leads to the ship's demise. Vespa is brought back to Druidia, where Lone Starr turns down his reward. Just when it seems Vespa will be forced to finally marry Vallum, Lone Starr, now found to be a prince himself, shows up to save the day. I'll end this by saying if you're a fan of space movies and are looking for a funny one, this is the one to buy or rent. You'll be more than glad you did.

Bully (Unrated/ Theatrical Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
It's 4am...and I still can't stop thinking about it.

Before watching Bully knowing Larry Clark had directed it gave me a taste for what it might be like. Based on a true story I was taken in by the whole thing instantly. The story was a great basis for an even greater movie. Larry Clarks choice of actors was perfect. Bijou Phillips as the care free, experimental Ali was just right. Nich Stahl as the Bully, played it with such truthfulness, that in certain scenes was disturbing to see. Brad Renfro as Marty - the initial victim of Bobby's violence. Plays it with a perfect sense of fear but of also the need to rebel against him and eventually stop running.
In typical Larry style the movie uses very unusual camera angles to make things as real to life as possible. Larry Clark also likes to shock and have an impact on his viewers - small elements like the umbearable camera spinning round a group of teens for well over 1 minute made me turn away dizzy, also using an unwanted shot of Bijou's crotch, it served no purpose. The movie is very real, Larry hasn't left any stone unturned. High amounts of ...frolics between the teens and even the murder itself are as real and are played with as much truth as possible.I watched the first 10 minutes and I had to turn it off - because I was brought face to face with a grim reality - that was done in such a believable way that I had to register what I had seen. It was quite shocking to see some of the actors as their characters. For example Michael Pitt went from innocent and loving Henry in Dawsons Creek to a guy who has lots ...[of relations] and would commit ...[crimes] As uncomfortable as the scenes were, the acting was at such a high level you'd never know they were phased by it.
Although Bully is initailly a grim story of ...[crimes], I think Bully is on some level a fun, entertaining teenage flick, its the violent elements in the story that change the whole feel to it. Bully has fresh new talent and a kicking soundtrack. Larry Clark has always been interested in youth..., in this movie he has combined that and applied it to a gripping story. Bully has been a real eye opener. Its been a week or so since I watched it and I still can't stop thinking about it. Walking away from a movie and forgetting about it is a wasted 2 hours - walking away and thinking about it weeks after and wanting to know more - well thats a job well done.

I've heard the songs on the CD, and I loved it. I can identify with them because I have a best friend (which lookes a lot like Bette herself...), but I think that anyone can understand and love these songs as much as I did. It's great!

The FUNNIEST Christmas movie since A Christmas Story.

The Funniest scene was where Buddy Elf Poured Maple
Syrup on his Spaghetti because Christmas Elves eat sweet things
ALL the time.

Also when I saw Gimbels in one scene it brought back memories for The real life Gimbels closed & went out of Business
in 1985.

Again The funniest Christmas movie in years.

A good ol' vampire flick!!!

I don't know why so many people put this movie down. It's a goodmovie. Sure it doesn't have the best acting but it's still good. It's blood soaked and good. I own it on DVD.
