Keeping it all alive

I currently have an old old copy of Let It Be. The music and realism is fantastic and the closest thing to a glimpse inside their world. The arguments, chatter and songs rock me and never let me forget the greatness of all four Beatles or the importance of George Martin. They shaped my world.

One of the best movies from the eightes!!

FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH is one of the best movies of the eightes. The movie is based off of Cameron Crowe's book "Fast Times At Ridgemont High", Crowe went undercover as a student at Clairmont high school for a year. This movie started careers for Forest Whitaker, Nicholas Coppola [Nicholas Cage], Jennifer Jason Leigh, Anthony Edwards, and Sean Penn. This movie is a all time classic. The soundtrack is great. My favorite character is Jeff Spicoli.Their was a kind-of a sequel made 2 years later called "THE WILD LIFE", none of the orignal cast where in it except Eric Stolz, Chris Penn is in it too. I recommend this movie if you like Cameron Crowe's work or if you like movies from the 80's. Hey Bud, Lets Party!

disney at it's best

This is a wonderful family movie. I watched it so many times when I was younger, and my sister and parents enjoyed it too. It's one of the old classics comprable to The absent minded professor and the barefoot exectutive. I've searched for the Happiest Millionaire for a long time, and it's the one movie that I can say was the favorite of my childhood.

The Blair Witch Project - movie DVD cover picture

This movie is an instant classic. I would not say it's anywhere near as good as THE EXORCIST or HALLOWEEN, but it is a rock solid piece of horror. With an extremely low budget, no written script, and set in the middle of the woods with an extremely small handful of actors, BLAIR WITCH managed to become a masterpiece. With the documentry-type filming, it was like you were there yourself. This movie had almost no special effects at all, but is very intense (especially when you watch it at 12:00 midnight, as I often do). If you want to be scared, watch this movie. If you are looking to be scared by a special effect monster, watch ALIENS instead. If you have really bad motion sickness, you might want to avoid BLAIR WITCH (there is no steady camera in the movie)

Larry David has that wit that I love. Just like the film AS GOOD AS IT GETS and the show BECKER.
The reality-show feel the show has just makes it that much more enjoyable, it gives you the feeling you're just watching this guy stumble through life. He TRIES to do the right thing, but it always seems to backfire in the end somehow, and ends with a laugh while the ending circus theme chimes right in.
Also, the woman who plays his wife ain't to hard on the eyes either!!!! ;-)

Excellent tie-in to the old series and shocking

It took me a while to get around to watching the movie, but I popped it in and sat down to watch it. Lemme tell you this movie was excellent in my opinion. Im a big fan of Batman and Batman Beyond. Sure it might have been a little edited but big deal? Any TRUE Batman fan can enjoy it. I found one part to be sad though, and I almost cried X_x because Im a big Robin fan! Anyways this movie I would have to say is a must watch! Excellent animation too, if I might add. I cant wait to work with a great team of animators like them! I Hope there will be more animated Batman Beyond movies and a Live Action one! :) Peace!

Funny Show with great Dub!

This is a great anime from the creators of the Slayers series, and staring the original voice cast too! This is not slayers though, the characters may seem somewhat similar, but they are not. The humor is very reminiscent of Slayers, but this is its own series. If you aren't interested in this title because you think its a rip-off, don't be! It's a great series that is good on its own. It has its own story, and you'll get over thinking its just Slayers in space after the first couple of episodes. Very original and very funny! This is a must have for Slayers fans, and non-Slayers fans alike. Featuring great intro and ending songs from Megumi Hayashibara, the voice of Lina Inverse and Canal in Lost Universe, and top notch animation!

Excellent Workout!!!

Both tapes are 30 minutes long. The workouts will get your pulse up and you will definately sweat. However, the cueing and editing on both videos is bad. The production is still a mess (poor editing).
The stretching portion is dangerous and the faux tai chi cool-down at the end is useless. Billy stops the workout at one point to explain form. It's a disruptive moment and you get to experience it again and again every time you workout - very annoying.

mellow my mind

If you're looking for a laid-back hour of solo acoustic, mostly new and expertly crafted Neil Young numbers, you've come to the right place. Young has put together 62 minutes of fine entertainment in this year 2000 release.
These recordings are gleaned from Young's May 29, 1999 solo appearance at the 2,000 seat Bass Concert Hall on the campus of the University of Texas. The filming has a very simplistic and classy feel to it... Neil surrounded by a crescent of acoustic guitars, a pump organ and piano. A trio of lights illuminate the performer, and the camera's provide only close-ups, and direct and angled shots from the foot of the stage. Young appears to be creating a set list from the seat of his pants, and this prompts numerous requests from the crowd... that is until a lone and timely "SHUT-UP" is reinforced by crowd applause, and an already reserved audience becomes reverant. Suffice it to say that the 'atmosphere' of the concert is a joy to behold in this age of "I paid, I can yell whenever and whatever I want" mentality.
The entire setlist for this particular concert can be viewed on the Sugar Mountain web site. Looking over that list, there are a few numbers I sure would have liked to hear in an acoustic mode, such as 'Powderfinger' and 'Southern Pacific', but I'm sure Neil would tell me to buy a ticket. There is really only one classic tune resurrected from the complete concert, that being the pump organ (yes, pump organ) rendition of 'Long May You Run'. While I suspect there has never been a poor rendition of this wonderful song about Neil's Hearst, this version is my least favorite. The solo acoustic version from 'Unplugged' and of course the original Stills-Young Band recording outdo this performance, but it's still a pleasure to hear. 'Harvest Moon' is included, although the studio track and the 'Red Rocks' video version are superior. A rare recording of 'Philadelphia' from the 1994 movie soundtrack is offered as well.
The remainder of the songs are chosen from the October 1999 Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young 'Looking Forward' reunion disc, and of course the 'Silver and Gold' audio CD. The two opening numbers, 'Looking Forward' and 'Out of Control' and a later track, 'Slowpoke' appear on the CSNY CD. From 'Silver and Gold' we have 'Good To See You', 'Daddy Went Walking', 'Buffalo Springfield Again', 'The Great Divide', 'Red Sun' and 'Distant Camera'. Two of these songs, 'Daddy Went Walking' and 'Buffalo Springfield Again' also appear on the 'Red Rocks' tape, and sound better with full instrumental backing. 'Good To See You', 'Distant Camera', and 'Slowpoke' are my personal favorites.
The video ends with a studio recording of Neil performing 'Silver and Gold' in 1997. It's a bit grainy and Neil rolls the credits over it, so it has a throw-away feel to it. Only Neil would do it this way. Nothing's good unless it's imperfect. Ya gotta love the guy.
There isn't a bad song in the bunch, and mercilessly, MERCILESSLY, while the audience is audible at times, they are completely invisible to the camera, and there are none of the dreaded audience sing-alongs. Neil's voice is at times strained by that insidious Mother Nature, but these recordings reinforce the reality of Young's continued musical relevance. Only a handful of performers, among them Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton, have managed to do what Neil has done... not only survived, but thrived in both the 1960's and the 1990's, and every decade in between. Thank You, Neil. You've help make it a wonderful trip.
