KISS EXPOSES !!!!!!!

My brother Pablo owns this DVD. I watched it last year for the first time in 5 years. And I was very entertained not because it's my favorite band of all, because I learned more about KISS than I ever did. They show videoclips I have never seen before, like: "Who Wants To Be Lonely" and "Uh! All Night".
I'm dying to wstch the videoclip of "Unholy", it is one of my favorite KISS songs. But those who don't know, I think that a DVD is comin' out this January 25th, a KISS DVD that contains both "KISS KONFIDENTIAL" and "KISS EXPOSED".
Anyway. The videoclips on this DVD have an excelent resolution for being "80's" videoclips. There is a footage of KISS's last concert on make-up of "I Love It Loud".
I only wished Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr apeared longer on this DVD. This DVD is also humorous and some of the parts are funny.
You should buy this one. It is a great DVD and perfect for KISS fans or not.

It is about time!

This is a GREAT movie! I would encourage EVERYONE to see this one... even if you have never even known someone with this condition, you should buy this movie. There are not enough movies like this one out there. We need to support this type of film making. I don't want to give the plot of the movie away, so I won't go into great detail. Watching this movie gives me hope. Hope for so many people out there with this illness. Hope that they or someone close to them will watch this and will give this diet a try. Don't give up hope. Thank you to whomever made this film possible.

Million Dollar Baby (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
friends are the family you choose

Although the story in Million Dollar Baby is not something entirely unique, and one might be tempted to dismiss it as a "female boxing movie", such a characterization would be overly simplistic and unfair. The story is really about building deep relationships with people who seem unlikely allies, about choosing your own family when your own family disappoints you, and choosing your battles (both literally and figuratively). Often, those closest to us and who understand us best are not in fact people related to us by the accident of being family but are people with whom we find ourselves sharing life's best and/or worst moments. The kind of bonds and indeed "love" that is unconditional, as the film deftly illustrates. Nothing breaks that kind of loyalty.

Morgan Freeman narrates the story of a gym owner/boxing trainer, Frankie Dunn (Clint Eastwood), who (battling his own personal demons) very reluctantly agrees to train an eager, ambitious female boxer, Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank). Frankie and Maggie build a very solid rapport, and this bond seems to grow. As it grows, this bond fills a hole in Frankie's life that has been bothering him for a long time (the estrangement from his daughter, for example, has haunted and hurt him for years, leading him to make daily visits to church, where he pesters his frustrated priest). The relationship Maggie and Frankie forge is real, is close, is loyal and familial... he looks after her and feels for her like a father for his daughter. When Maggie's family uses her and attempts to manipulate her (while making fun of her), Frankie is there for Maggie, wishing to protect her from this "sponging" family dynamic.

While the entire cast is wonderful, and Morgan Freeman turns in an amazing performance, the most remarkable aspect of Hilary Swank's career and double Oscar win is that she was once FIRED from Beverly Hills, 90210, which could easily make almost any actor give up, but Swank chose to fight and thrive on a small failure, proving her own tenacity and clout. The understated, excellent performances create a vivid, deeply moving (and quite sad) story, definitely worth seeing.

The Passion of the Christ (Full Screen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
One of the best slasher movies of all times.

I'd rank this movie right up the with the best of the slasher films. It is The Texas Chainsaw massacre or Faces of Death 5 of our generation. Just when you thought horrible fanatical death was only the perveiw of the cable news networks Mel Gibson gave us this gem of a gorefest. If you like blood, flaying, misplaced entrails and seeing a man brutally murdered this is the movie for you. Like other movies in it's genre it has no redeeming qualities but unmitigated brutality all there for you to see. What more could you ask from a movie. Now that we have this on DVD we can all sit back and enjoy the ride at home. Grab a 6-pack, a pack of smokes and turn on the surround sound and let every bone crunch and death scream remind you that movie greatness still exists in the new millenium.

Spider-Man 2 (Widescreen Special Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
A modern superhero genre classic, and deeper than the first

SPIDERMAN continues the Spiderman saga as Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) tries to juggle his responsibilities as a superhero and as a student at Columbia University trying to pay his rent and attend his classes. Things are not easy, to say the least---especially when a new villain arrives, in the form of Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), endowed with four cyber-intelligent tentacles that force him to continue with experiments that could put Manhattan in mortal danger. And of course Peter still has a crush on Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), and friend Harry Osborn (James Franco) still has a vendetta against Spiderman for the murder of his father.

Peter Parker feels the great burden of his responsibilities, and the ways in which he tries to deal with it is part of what makes SPIDERMAN a worthy sequel to the 2001 original. SPIDERMAN was a good genre film because, through all the special effects and action scenes, director Sam Raimi never lost track of the human element, never allowed the film to sink into a brainless action spectacle. Peter Parker the character is fully given his due, and there is a wonderful authenticity to the film's emotions-nothing artificially heightened or manipulative. SPIDERMAN 2 is emotionally richer than the original, and that is quite an accomplishment for a sequel. Even better, the special effects are slightly more convincing than they were in the first film, and there are some bravura action scenes---particularly one in which Spiderman has to use all his power to stop a moving train---that equal the best of any superhero epic.

One would be hard-pressed to think of anyone else that could have played Spiderman as convincingly as Tobey Maguire does in both films. He never expresses emotions through attention-grabbing gestures, but always stays in character beautifully. The other performances are good, but Maguire helps take the film to a higher level. SPIDERMAN 2 is a great sequel, a worthy superhero movie, and terrific entertainment. Highly recommended.

I say Yay, Mike Hodges

You can't say Why don't they make films as good as this anymore..They do, just in very small amounts. This is what high quality independent film making can be when it's in the hands of a master craftsman.Clive Owen's elegant stillness is a perfect match for this cool character. Funny how gamblers and NON-gamblers can have the same tempermants. Alex Kingston is fab as always.A must see.

aSHirley = aShLEY

This was one of the most diffuclut tasks ,I believe because getting someone who could even match a glimpse up to Shirley had to be a task too hard to handle. I didnt see and big historical innaccuracies but like when she put her feet onto the Graumanns theater she didnt smile really because she had just lost a tooth and little things like that. I liked how they did this but I really wished they had showed more of her just being herself and the hard things and sad things like I really enjoyed her scene from Now and Forever where she had trouble with the crying because I could just imagine, and when Amelia Earhart died I started crying myself, one of the most tragic things is when she didnt get the part of Dorothy and when she said she didnt care but she really did and ended up basicaly crying herself to sleep. The life of Shirley Temple was very hard and wasnt all "Lollipops and Apple Pies all rolled into 1!" (Line from : Baby Take a Bow) but it was one heck of a ride and IT would be the experience of a lifetime and this movie shows you a little what it was like!

Best Halloween flick in ages!

I looooove HOCUS POCUS! This is the best flick you could possibly find for a Halloween night. It's humorous and lighthearted, and can be pretty scary for kids under the age of 8. I'm 17 years old, and I still think HOCUS POCUS is the best Halloween flick. This movie is basically about the three Sanderson witch sistes who lived long ago in the 1600s during the Salem Witch Trials, in Massachusetts. Winifred, Sarah, and Mary want to make themselves look younger and more beautiful. So in the beginning, they create a spell that will suck the lives out of children who are more beautiful then they are and then they will receive all that beauty and youthfulness. Anyway, Thackery Binks is a young boy who lived during the time of the Sanderson witches. One morning when his kid sister, Emily Binks, runs off, he realizes that she's being hypnotized by the Sanderson sisters to go to their home in the middle of the woods so they can take her life. Thackery races off to rescue his sister, only to find that he is too late. The Sanderson sisters find Thackery in their house and attack him, turning him into a black cat forever, unless someone can break the spell. That night, the Sanderson sisters are found by the townspeople and are hanged for killing Thackery. The Sanderson sisters promise the townspeople that they will come back to life when someone lights the black candle in their home. Then 300 years go by and it is the present day. Max is a young teenage boy who moves with his family to Salem, Massachusetts from Los Angeles, California. On Halloween, his teacher tells his class the story on the Sanderson sisters, like she always does every year. Max, being new in town, doesn't believe the story of the three witches. Allison, a girl in his class whom he has a crush on, tells Max that the story is true, even though Max still doesn't really believe her. On Halloween night, when Max takes his little sister Dani out trick-or-treating, they end up going to this large house which happens to be the home of Allison. When he sees Allison, Max suggests to Allison and Dani that they all go to the Sanderson witches home - which has been turned into a museum - to see if the story his teacher told them really was true. Dani believes the story and doesn't want to go. But Allison agrees to it and then Dani, who has to go since their parents are at a Halloween party, agrees to go. They get to the home of the Sanderson sisters and find Thackery, who is still a black cat. Thackery tells them about the Sanderson sisters and Max, who still wants to prove that he is right that the witches don't exist, lights the black candle, bringing the Sanderson sisters back to life. Now, Max, Allison, and Dani are on a wild and hilarious chase to catch and destroy the Sanderson sisters before it is too late (which would be at dawn the next morning) and before the Sanderson sisters can suck the lives out of all the children in town. Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker are excellent in this film, so are Omri Katz (who plays Max), Kathy Namijy, Vinessa Shaw, and a very young Thora Birch. I recommend this movie to anyone who loves Halloween!
