Justice? Justice? You can't HANDLE the Justice League!

Bruce Timm and his team have put together another great series in the vein of the Batman and Superman animated series. If you liked either of those shows, I suspect you'll really like this show as well. The three segments here (originally broadcast as a 90 minute special on the Cartoon Network) are needed to cover the "origins" stories of the League and to give any kind of detail at all to the number of characters the story focuses on. The voice characterizations are excellent, and the animation is sharp, and I think the storytelling is well done. Yes, the plot suffers some dilution due to the number of characters they have to cover, but nevertheless, this is an enjoyable story. The DVD is fairly standard stuff, without anything special in the way of extras, which is disappointing but not terribly surprising. Warner always needs a kick in the pants to give their animated products the support they deserve, and they haven't gotten it yet. It is nice to have it without commercials and it is reasonably priced. I recommend this DVD.

Mr. Magoo (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture

I thought this movie was very funny! There are alot of laughs and funny scenes. Mr.Magoo is near sighted, so he reads signs wrong and walks off cliffs. There was a little violence, like kicking and punching, but very little of it in the movie. The one thing I didn't like was at the beginning it started out as a cartoon, then went to real life, and ended as a cartoon. But overall it was a great movie! I recommend it to anyone ages 7+

Fantastic DVD/Video

I have almost all of the Baby Einsteins, and this is one of my children's favorites! My almost 4 year old son still watches them, and my 21 month old requests them by name. Love them, great way to take a shower and keep your kids preoccupied at the same time!

Kubrick's Best Movie.

I've seen all of Kubrick's movies except for Barry Lyndon and Dr. Strangelove (so this review might not be as accurate as a person would hope for) but this is his best work as far as I can tell. A brilliant and moral "shocker" that really tries to dig deep into you and successfully does so even after the first few minutes. People hate it because it "glorifies violence." If this is true, then why does the plot itself suggest that violence is an ugly thing? Alex gets my vote for best costume of the 70's (I went as him for halloween) and he did a pretty good job, although I hear him and Kubrick didn't say one word to one another after production was completed. Was Kubrick an eccentric man? You bet he was. This makes this movie all the more greater; he could care less about the criticism. He knew what he was doing. He knew it wasn't going to be a "normal" movie. And low and behold: it's still being praised after 30 years and is really clicking with generation Xers for some odd reason (LSD, anyone?). If not for all the rape and nudity scenes, this would be the perfect film to show in a religion class to teach the kiddies about the value of free will. And it's not a boring movie either. Kubrick maintains a smooth story to go along with his perfectionist style and creates one of the most beautiful and visually spectacular films of the 70's; or of any decade for that matter. Give it a shot, you're surely in for a treat... unless your favorite movie is Halloween 3. :)~

Im a Mister Bava Lova,Mario Bava Superstar!!

Danger:Diabolik is based on the same Comics wich was very cool and Mario bava was the right man for a real action movie on Danger:Diabolik! The Moviesets he created is so small but they looked like they cost lot of hundredthousand dollars, but the cost in real was maybe 1000 Dollar!??!Its a great superhero movie with the typically colourimpression of Mario Bava, the master of Italian Cinema and the creator of the Giallo Thrillers.Danger:Diabolik got some spectaculary and stunning action scenes, good looking chicks and a nice and cute superhero.Im so happy that this movie was released on DVD!Are you too?Buy and you will be!!

Katharine Hepburn's tour de force perfomance

I saw this movie on the library shelf and so checked it out. I did so because at the moment I am studying the life of Fredric March, and this was one of the plays he performed in his theatre career. I wanted to know what the play was about. He had played the role of the father in the stage version.
Anyway...this is a LONG film and I had to watch it in two evenings. It seemed depressing to me from the very beginning, and seemed to slide you farther and farther down into the hopelessness of their lives as the film went on. I am not a fan of films that are so dark, so sad, so is no joy to watch a dysfunctional family such as this. They are a strange times seeming to care for each other and saying a kind or loving word to each other, but in the next breath they are saying very hurtful words that cut to the heart. I could not believe how this pattern of "I love you I hate you" dialog went on and on in the movie. Obviously they are all deeply troubled people, and unable to really help each other. I did not care for the swearing in the movie, or all the times the name of God was used in vain. I must say I did not really LIKE this film at was too hopeless, and for it to end them no better off than they were in the beginning, well you just sit there and wonder, "What was the purpose of telling us this story?" You cannot feel anything but sadness at their hopelessness, you are wanting to do nothing but to cry for this family.
While I did not like the story, I will say the actors did a good job of portraying their characters...Katherine Hepburn stood out to me most of all; she seemed the most tragic figure in the family. This film was definately very real...there are people who do function like this in their relations to one another. Yet personally, I like to see a film where in the end the characters have grown or have learned something to better other words I prefer to feel some hope for them in the end. It is not a film I would ever watch again.

One of the best movies made in the last 1/2 of the 20th cent

Pure, and utter perfection in movie making.
Historical discrepencies aside, this is a movie first.
And, like all great movies, it can be viewed as several different stories.
One is the story of the life of Mozart. Again, not terribly historically acurate, but there it is.
One is the story of a man (Salieri) who is racked with envy.
One of the story of that same man that is at odds with his god that he so believed blessed him.

F. Murray Abraham is in reality the main focus of the movie and he was totally amazing.
His change from the begining of the movie when he is talking with the priest to how they both then look at the end says it all.
Absolutely fantasic. 6 out of 5 stars.
One of the greatest movies of all time.

Buy it now guy!

Undergrads has got to be one of the best and most underrated animated shows to come on in a long time. I love all the characters and it's scary how the four guys all resemble four of my friends VERY closely. Being in college myself I can say it is slightly exaggerated, but not extremely so. I don't dorm but I wouldn't doubt that there are some crazy RAs in our dorms at NJCU. If you are a fan of Undergrads please support the show by purchasing this season in hopes that it will send a message that Undergrads needs to continue. If it worked for Family Guy (which I hear goes back on the air December of this year) then there's hope yet. Now all we need is Daria to be put on DVD.

The only way to go where no one has gone before...

I, like most who are willing to shell out over [money] for this series, am a Star Trek Fan (I wouldn't say "Trekkie", I don't go to conventions, collect stuff, etc.) I bought this series for two reasons: 1) to be able to sit and watch the season as it unfolded originally, and 2) to be able to watch the shows without 20 minutes worth of commercials per episode. I was absolutely satisfied with the first season DVD's. I saw episodes I had never seen before (missed them somehow.) I even enjoyed that extra BS they put on the DVD's like interviews and stuff. If you enjoy watching the series, you'll love having them on DVD. I can't wait for the next season to come out.
