Judy's star shines better than ever on DVD set

This new set of the Judy Garland television series has got to be one of the best things that could happen to a Garland fan. The quality is exceptional. I'll bet the shows didn't look this good on the dates of their initial broadcast in the early 60's! Judy's program still holds up all these years later. As I said to a friend of mine who is not a fan of Miss Garland's, even just to watch the guest roster. Judy had some of the all time greats on her show. From Peggy Lee to Lena Horne to Ethel Merman to Jack Jones. Can't wait for the second set, scheduled as I understand, to be released in the spring. Try it, you'll love it!

"now i know you're really MAD"

OK, i write few reviews, so any one who rates this zero or one star isn't a Who fan......I rate it 5, as i think it is a starter for those getting into Who, especially those wanting to find quality Troughton videos to watch..........it has the ever entertaining Troughton and Frazier (Jamie) and also Victoria (a conservative1800's kinda girl).......my quote/title is one of merit........all the "scientists" find the Doctor and challenge him at every turn or each conclusion, and he has a smart remark for each of them.....when Kleig explains his insaine plans, Troughton plays along a few lines and when Kleig proclaims himself a God and a Brilliant Genious, the Doctor says "oh, yes, i wanted to know for sure that you were absolutely mad...now i see you are".......OK, also, there is an American character, he is a stereo-typical "John Wayne" speaking character.......i wasn't offended, i found him worthy of some quality samples (or at least sound bytes).......this is typical of 60's Britt shows........Americans and especially American Blacks have to follow a stereo-type.......so, the Americans come across as Cowboys and [i promise i will find his name and edit this] looks like like a mindless, brute idiot.........but he also becomes the hero as he is partially converted to a Cyberman but still over throws them and plays hero as the "scientists" try to flee
All in all, this is a Cybermen episode and also one of Troughton's finest..........Troughton is a GREAT Doctor and the Cybermen are CLASSIC enemies.....that makes this one great episode to own........i still watch it and show it to my friends

Great GREAT Movie!

This movie is everything I thought that it would not be. And the first thing I thought it would not be, is good. I thought "Musician+Movie=Bad thing" once I saw "8 Mile"(which sucked BTW!) But Cradle of Fear, Hell I'll tell ya, It's actually quite a good movie for a low budget one, with an awesome plot. The story is about a commited child killer and cannibal who used to work as a hypnotist. But this killer secretly was killing children at his shows by subliminally giving them commands to do his bidding, then he killed them. He was caught, and eventually imprisoned and thrown into an asylum. Here he dwells in an asylum, going mad. He calls upon "The Man" (played by none other than Dani Filth) to kill those who have wronged him by having him imprisoned. This is where the FUN begins in the movie. The Man ends up killing the series of people in many frenzied gory ways, only to die by having his head blown in half in the end. We then discover that The Man is actually the son of the child killer cannibal, whom also "dies". Then the actual ENDING...MAN I'LL TELL YOU IT RULED! Never would have expected THAT to happen. I wont give it away, but the end was simply amazing and a huge huge shocking suprize. The only thing this movie really lacks, is better graphics in the gore. I mean, you can tell when Dani Filth is ripping a guys head apart in the begining, that It's totally fake. A better more realistic gore scene is when the "baby" bursts out of the woman. And then, the final gore in the movie where Dani stabs and slices and slits a few people to shreds. All in all, this movie deserved way more than just 5 stars, it deserves 100!GREAT JOB CRADLE OF FILTH, AND GREAT JOB DANI FILTH MOST OF ALL, YOURE A GOD OF HORROR AND BLACK METAL!

Not the best one, but still very good.

Like other trilogies, the third lacks what the first two delivered. This being said and true, it is still a very good movie. It is funny and does stay true to the whole "what you thought to be true you will find to be false" character of a trilogy. Plus, Britney's video in the extras is quite nice as well. Just sit back and put your brain on pause and enjoy....

Great DVD

This Mexican popgroup performs very well on stage and on their albums. When I first heard from Mana (Donde Jugaran Los Ninos, not on this DVD), I thought I heard the Police singing in Spanish. For sure, you will enjoy listening this DVD in Dolby 5.1 and watching this inspiring musicians making a 'pure' show. Mana could be the next Ricky Martin or Jennifer Lopez breaking out Latin and South America.

Classic performance with extra material--what a guy!

This new-edition DVD set is simply great! It includes the concert version that was originally telecast in the US in April 1973, and the version shown live to much of the rest of the world via satellite (a big deal in 1973) three months earlier. It also includes the "alternate" concert, which was the rehearsal for the live telecast. These are awesome concerts performed just before Elvis' health began its major decline, showing his generosity (Kui Lee Cancer Fund) and patriotism. The first segment shows footage of Elvis' arrival at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, taped for the concert introduction. (He stayed in the Rainbow Tower there, visible in the footage.) My favorite bonus segment of the set, however, is the taping of the "extra" songs which were inserted, with scenery, for the US telecast. These were taped in the middle of the night, just after the arena cleared immediately after the live satellite telecast. How he, and his musicians, could perform so well, recording five quality songs on the spot, just after doing a concert beamed live to billions of people is astounding!! His remarkable talent and stamina really come across here! My personal favorite, "No More," was not used in the telecast and is seen nowhere else in the set. His interactions between takes with the director and musicians during this segment, never intended for public viewing, show a personal side of this GREAT performer. The credits roll over the beautiful song, "I'll Remember You," and we certainly always will. This is a classic set to be enjoyed for years.

Thank God I missed the hype!

It just goes to show you how being pelletted by hype can ruin a film for some people. I don't watch any tv and so missed all the hoopla about this film and thus was truly mezmerized by it. Yet I did know the story was fictional. While it dragged a bit in the beginning, it paved the way (without unrealistic effects) for a rather disturbing climax. It was that very lack of a computer-generated "monster" that nailed my last nerve to the wall in the end of this film. Excellent! ...but best viewed, like many movies, without having been subjected to the pre-publicity.

Quite Creepy!

Pet Sematary is by far the most disturbing horror film I have ever seen. From the creepy opening credits to the tragic ending you will either be creeped out or disturbed by this movie. The most unnerving part of the film is that you can't root for the killers demise because he is an innocent little boy who did nothing to deserve what happened to him, it is a complete injustice. The fact that Rachel Creed (Denise Crosby) is seen with red, swollen, tear filled eyes after her little boy is taken away from her only makes the tragedy seem real. As well, the flashbacks of the Ludlow town's hidden secrets, told by Jud Crandall (Fred Gwynne), are intriguing and make you wonder why people wouldn't move far away from that place. Having picked the cutest little boy to portray the tragic role of Gage Creed (Miko Hughes) is one thing, but him giving such an outstanding performance at the age of 29 months is incredible...incidentally it took 2 girls to play the role of Ellie Creed! All in all this film is great for people who can stand emotionally unsettling situations, it is truely a horror film.

Al Pacino was Grimey....

Scarface is not only a timeless classic in Hollywood but also in the hip hop nation. Al Pacino has one of the widest fan bases of all actors. This movie has so many famous one-liners..."say hello to my little friend"...lol ...Scarface is dark and grimey. Tony Montana (played by al pacino) will go down as one of the most notorious characters to ever hit the cinemas...
