Judy Garland Live at the London Palladium with Liza Minnelli - movie DVD cover picture
Judy Garland and Liza are magical together!

This was Judy's last concert at the London Pallidium and was Liza's first on-stage appearance (excluding TV). Although the B&W video quality is poor, the magic of the two on stage is excellent! If you are a fan of Judy or Liza, you owe it to yourself to add this tape to your collection - just seeing the love between Judy & Liza as they sing "Happy Days Are Here Again" is worth the purchase. And as another viewer writes, "Over The Rainbow" is magical. Yes, Judy's career was sadly coming to a bitter end and it comes through in this concert - but the audience stood and cheered as Judy closed the show with everything she had singing "Chicago" with Liza at her side. There was a special bond between these two wonderful ladies!

Beauty and The Beast - Criterion Collection - movie DVD cover picture

Visually stunning, baroque, surrealistic fantasy/fairy tale, directed by masterful french artist, poet, Jean Cocteau, starring his longtime lover and proteg?, legendary film actor Jean Marais, and Josette Day as "Belle", both perfect in their roles.
This is a sumptuous and very lyric film, a real one-of-a-kind experience, a masterpiece, and for sure, the very best version of the story. The Art Direction, the sets, the costumes, are all p-e-r-f-e-c-t....and the beast's make-up (mask) is great!!
This is one of the top examples of classic french film. Not to be missed.

"The Phantom of the Opera is there inside my mind....."

I never liked opera, but this movie is outstanding, special effects are awsome and the music even more awsome. I have watched it over and over again. What a romantic and wonderful film. Not enough stars in the sky to rate it.

Don't Forget to Breathe!

I started watching this movie around 11 PM...two hours later, I finally started breathing. The movie was exhilarating. It was probably the most intense movie I've ever seen. The suspense was incredible, the camera work was great (with several Hitchcock-esque shots added in the mix), the plot was nicely twisted. It was a great movie! If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, go check this movie out. It had my heart pumping at twice my optimal heart rate from the first minute of the movie. I can't really give any of the details of the movie away, because it would really ruin a lot of it. Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins were the perfect choice for both characters. I really wish I could say more about the movie, but this is the type of movie that would be ruined by knowing too much. Don't even read the cover of the movie
A few words of caution: this movie is not for the faint of heart. However, if you think you are partially faint hearted, just don't watch the first 5 minutes...which (at least for me), was the most disturbing part of the movie. There are several scenes of violence, and there is blood, but the violence isn't what makes this movie so is the suspense. The camera angles and the film score make the movie almost unbearable when it comes to suspense. I could have shared my seat with several other people because I *only* used the edge of it! There are many, many "jump scenes" (scenes that make you jump out of your seat), despite what says. The language isn't great, but it isn't horrible either. There are a few incidents of foul language, but it is fairly isolated.
I give this movie a thumb's up, but I can definitely think of better times/locations to watch it (I had to drive home at 1:15 AM after watching it...). I would prefer to watch this movie in broad daylight in my own house with a large blunt object in my hand.

Wait Until Dark - movie DVD cover picture

Although this film may not be as effective in the shock department as it was upon its release almost 35 years ago, it's still a thriller to be reckoned with...........A doll containing a fortune in heroine is planted in Suzy's (Hepburn) home while an incredibly elaborate and sinister scheme ensues. A gripping tale of a blind woman being terrorised in her own apartment builds up into a frenzied tale of GENUINE jump-out-your-seat suspence! - this is actually one of the first films of that evasive and unique genre........ As the cat and mouse game gets going, Suzy proves to be an elusive and formidable match for Arkin and company........... I distinctly remember seeing this movie at the State Theatre in Woodland, California at the age of 7, (1967). The scene where practically the whole audience jumped off their seats IS jolting and (obviously) unforgettable!

A film of this quality lasts 4Ever.

(This is a review of the DVD edition of Pok?mon 4Ever. It contains no spoilers other than those that could be found on the back of the DVD cover.)
Pok?mon 4Ever is a great and fun film of the quality we've come to expect from not only pok?mon films, but anime in general. If you are a pok?mon fan of any age, this is a must own film.
Graphics (5/5):Overall, the graphics are of the same high quality we can expect of any Pok?mon episode, or movie. They even do a mild increase of the graphics quality of the standard pok?mon, by giving it a mild 3D feel in certain areas.
Music (4/5):While the movie does not hold the awe inspiring music that the previous two held, the music is flawless, and does not detract from the movie in any way. While it could have been better, it is fine as it is.
Story (5/5):The movie's story holds together well. A boy named Sammy protects Celebi, the legendary pok?mon, from a pok?mon hunter. Celebi, to protect them from this threat, travels forward in time, to the time of our heroes Ash, Pikachu, and the rest. Together, they must protect Celebi, and the rest of the forest, from their new threat--a hunter more powerful than the one left behind!
The story is mildly simplistic, but as it is a children's story foremost, it cannot be faulted for that. All plot threads that are started are finished by the end of the movie, and you get a full sense of fulfillment. They did extraordinary in this area.
Fun (5/5):The story is not only fun for children, but for more mature pok?mon fans. There are several fun references for pok?mon fans to catch, and they did an excellent job of making you feel for the characters--there are several truly touching moments, regardless of your age.
Special Features (3/5):The disk holds an audio commentary, animation walkthrough, trivia game, trailers for this movie, a sneak peek at the next, and DVD-Rom features (Trading Card Game, Desktop items, and 'Hidden Content' at
The audio commentary is unarguably the best feature of the special features. Sadly, they didn't go the full way. While most movies with audio commentaries go till the end, this one goes about 40-50 minutes, before falling off completetly to the normal movie audio. With a little work, they could have made the audio commentary longer, and given it a more satisfying feeling.
The animation progression, trailers, and trivia game are nothing to be too excited about. While the trivia game is fun, it loses its novelty after about 2 goes-through it.
The sneak peek at the next movie, almost should have been excluded. It was in Japanese, and no work to translate it was given. It overall gave a mild feel of the graphics, but gave no idea whatsoever of what the next movie will be about.
The DVD-ROM feature of the trading card game was unimpressive at best. It gives a feel of what it is about, but the game boy game can give a much better feel. The 'hidden content' is through their website, and links to it were able to be found on the internet from about the moment the DVD was unloosed on the public.
Overall (4.75/5):The movie is a fine addition to the list of pok?mon movies. It will not win over any new fans to the series, but will only strengthen the love of any old ones. I strongly suggest it as a buy to any pok?mon fan, and at least a rent to any anime fan.
