Josie Rocks The House !

Of all the movies this year that I've seen so far, you should see Josie and The Pussycats, the movie based on the famous Archie Comic Book and Hanna-Barbera Cartoon. Thus it is a slap to our corporative society of product placements and imposed trends, this is a fun movie not to be taken seriously. The story of an all girl punk-rock band signed by an unscrupulous manager of a record company (excellent Alan Cumming as Wyatt) playing with the consuming brains of the teenagers. However, Josie and her friends, Valerie and Melody (Tara Reid has the essence of the original blonde caracter) unfolds the plot of Fiona, the leader of Mega Records, in "cahoots" with the Government after one week of quick success... And Josie has a hard times communicating her true feelings to Alan M., who woos her mostly when his truck breaks down... Three ways to enjoy is to not take it seriously, see it as a good old Archie comic and have fun. The caracters are simply cartoonesque (mostly Parker Posey and Alan Cumming). And all the original caracters of the comic book, Alexander and Alexandra Cabot (the latter being there because she was in the comic book...) and Josie's flame, Alan M. are there. Old fans of the comic book like me will miss the skin tight leopard suits, but the soundtrack is great. Even the boys bands like the Backstreet Boys are spoofed as a group called "DuJour". And Rachael Leigh Cook as Josie proves she can play any role (being comic, serious, ..., sweet...and sexy !). It's up to 90 minutes of good time given by the creators of "Can't Hardly Wait !". Three small words: See this one !

BIG KROFFT FAN

I would definately recomend this video collection to anyone who grew up in the 70's, how fun it was to see the shows I watched when everything was so much simpler! It brought back all the memories of being glued to the TV on Saturdays, waiting with anticipation to see Jimmy on H R Pufnstuf, and watch Sigmund and the Sea Monsters! And of course, what would happen to Will and Holly on Land of the Lost? Would those Sleazestaks finally get them? It's such a blast from the past. I share them with my five-year old now, and he loves them. The funny thing is, once I started watching the videos, I remembered all the songs and characters which I was sure I had forgotten! My son now sings the songs with me, and he likes these shows so much we do a Saturday morning routine just like when I was young, just sitting in front of the TV and wearing our PJ'S eating cereal. It's Grrrreat!!

Fantastic

Batman:MOTP is hands down the best comic-book/superhero adaptation ever; live-action or animated. It is better than Tim Burton's classic 1989 feature and any other comic based adventure to grace the small and big screen.
The irony in this is that this series, if you want to admit it or not, was an animated spin-off of the then successful live-action movie series. This movie became a spin-off of the hit Fox series and now it is probably the best interpretation of the character to date.
In the movie, a mysterious killer is knocking off gangsters and Batman is taking the blame. Meanwhile a former love interest of Bruce Wayne returns after suddenly skiping town several years later leaving then husband-to-be Bruce heartbroken. And to make matters more interesting, the Joker devilishly starts to cause trouble. Above all these fun and games is the love story which drives the story. It's an exploration of the loneliness in the life of the main character.
Mask of the Phantasm to me is what Tim Burton's first feature could have been. Beware that the origin of the Joker in this movie also assumes the Jack Napier/organised crime beginning. The animation, though not Disney quality, works well with a terrific screenplay. What I liked about the movie was the role fate or destiny plays in the life of Bruce Wayne. Fans of Frank Miller's Batman:Year One should be pleasantly suprised by an action sequence involving the caped crusader against a swat team.
A fantastic movie with a brilliant score by Shirley Walker. A must see movie for any Batman fan.

So what is foreign about this film?

This Story is told on so many levels that any one interview is sure to miss a major point. So I am not going to rehash the story or the point that it was trying to make. It was great on a cinematic level as well as the story. However the thing that I found interesting was that the people, missing the mark, thought that Babette was doing something weird. Some thought it was sacrilegious. Others thought she was showing off. Still others thought that with all of her winnings she was cheap to just give them a meal. The decision not to eat the stuff is played out in other movies as "Theodora Goes Wild" where they are not going to meet a train. Again in "Chocolat" they suspected an ulterior motive. But this movie is more moving when you find out the truth behind the gesture and the cost.

An Amazing Treat

The hacked version of Game Of Death is, in my opinion the worst movie I've ever seen. It's poorly edited, the acting is awful and on top of that it's insulting. It's insulting to Bruce Lee, his family, Martial Arts films, and films in general. Bruce Lee had died and never got the chance to finish the film. That didn't stop a bunch of studio executives to re-write the script, get a double to fill in for Lee and even use footage from Bruce's older films. The result is a mess of a film that should have never been made. The actual footage of Bruce Lee that appears in the film is only about eleven minutes worth. When in fact there was over one hundred minutes of footage Bruce had shot. Most of which is outtakes and re-takes.
Bruce Lee: A Warriors Journey focuses on Bruce's rise to fame in both the Martial Arts world and the film world. It explores his struggles against prejudice in Hollywood. On top of all that Bruce's original vision for The Game of Death is revealed. His original script is uncovered. Completely different from the released version. This was going to be the film that finally focused on Bruce's personal philosophy.
The real gem of this documentary comes at the end. For the first time. The full thirty minutes of Bruce's lost footage for the Game of Death is revealed and let me tell you it's glorious to behold. These thiry minutes featuring some of the greatest martial arts I've ever seen on film. If there ever was any reason to think that Bruce Lee was the master it's proven in this footage. Had he lived to finish the film it would've been his masterpiece.
Skip the released version and watch this documentary instead.

Flawless

This concert couldn't be more flawless
The scenerio is perfect, the choreography, the lights, the costumes, etc.
Sarah dances, sings her heart out, plays piano and gives the best show of hers to date.
I think this is the best show I've seen in a concert EVER only probably along with the "drowned world tour" by Madonna in a sense.
The extras are great also and it includes 3 remixes of songs in her "Harem' album.

Great Documentary

I turned on ESPN and saw this and I soon got entranced by it.
It follows the stories of two High School Basketball prodigies.
Being a fan of all the prospects I knew I must watch this movie. The two kids William Graves and Arthur Agee were both guards from the Inner City Chicago and they were both many of the basketball prodigees. I turned in to see there Freshman years William was one of St. Josephs school and was a starter something that even Isiah Thomas was not at the same school.
The other guy was Agee who was the starter for the Freshman team. He ran into his problems with the school and by the time they both entered there sophomore year Agee was having trouble with the School and had to transfer to a Inner City School.
Graves was called the "Next Isiah" by many folks in Illinois.
in 1985 his brother Corey was compared to Michael Jordan but his career did not pan out. By there Junior year William had a serious knee injury and Arthur had school and team troubles. He worked hard to help his team out. By this time William had a daughter Alicia. By the time of the start of there Senior season William was invited to the prestigious ABCD Basketball camp presented by Nike. This tournament is the very best High School players by there year. His year just happened to be the class of 1991 a class that had the Fab 5 in it and also had the likes of Glenn Robinson and others. 1991 was a great year. William was injured again over the summer and was blasted by the coach of his school. Artur Agee had to get his life in line. Arthur was being scouted by many schools but chose Marquette. Arthur chose a Junior College in Missouri. There senior years were different the top team St.Josephs had a succesful but disapointing season and Arthur's school won city championships including a win over the number one team in the Nation. They would loose in the state quarters. After High School they both graduated college and Arthur played in the ABL
and William had a brief stint with the Wizzards in 2001.

Die Hard - The Ultimate Collection

It's three classic movies in one. I love all Bruce Willis's movies and they're all the best movies but all Die Hard's throws you back in your seat trying to guess what happens next. By the time you think you have the plot down some other event happens like in Die Hard With a Vengeance when you find out he killed his brother in the first one. The first one is him saving his wife and hostages from a building, the second one he saves her from an airplane with no landing spot, and the third one he saves all of New York City children when he really only discovers the best plot ever created for any movie and then he try's to go back to his marriage. I have nothing bad to say about the movies except they should be making more. Die Hard has the best plot, the best acting so why stop now when they have the "Die Hard" fans, most there movies on amazon are not in stalk, the new Die Hard - The Ultimate Collection is coming so they better make plenty copies.

My favourite film of all time...

This really is my favourite film. I've been a huge fan of Wallace & Gromit, so I was not surprised that I loved this. This film is one that both the parents and the kids will love. My daughter (3 years) and son (6 years) and I have watched this film over and over, and it just keeps on getting better...and funnier!

It is worth every cent. Purchase this film. You will not regret it...It's "absolutely outrageous!".
