Jill St John

There is not a whole lot to say of this James Bond movie. There is a cool story and cool spy stuff but Jill St John has to be one of the hottest women of all time. She is both funny and utterly sexy at the same time.

Amazing

This was an amazing movie. If you have read the reviews by "A 12 year old viewer" do not pay any attention to those reviews. This person has no idea of what a good movie/musical is and has no appreciation for these types of things. Chicago was simply wonderful and I suggest that everyone see it. The music was great and the dancing was great. The choreogrophy I think was by Bob Fosse and it was amazing. It is also amazing that all the actors do their own dancing. Richard Gere is an excellent tap dancer! Billy Flynn: That's Chicago.

Mickey still has it...

This is a pretty cool DVD/CD for anyone who is a fan of Mickey Thomas' voice. It shows him in the studio re-recording Starship's greatest hits. His new band plays the songs faithful to the originals. He still hits 99.99% of the high notes! There's an extended interview with him on the DVD where he talks about what it was like to be in Starship, and what it's like now.

I'm confused...

This series is proof (if such was ever needed) that Japanese anime is far more than cartoon entertainment. It is a tightly worked study of innocence lost and the inherent destructiveness of the virtual 'wired' mindset. Using the story of Lain, a girl on the verge of womanhood, the series follows her 'adventures' in a Wonderland gone amok. Not so much a coming of age story as a warning that too much knowledge can be poisonous.
When we meet Lain she is a computer ingénue, uncomfortable even using her Navi to talk to friends. Gradually Lain and the world within the computer become enmeshed. Almost without here awareness, her online persona takes on a style of its own - louder, more cynical, possible even evil. Lain finds that she is not sure which personality she really is, assuming that she is either one. The series spins layer upon layer, until the viewer is no more positive than is Lain.
I am not going to dig any further into the plot, since I have reviewed the individual DVDs elsewhere. But I can promise that the story is both predictable and unpredictable. A tragic whimsy where final nirvana is played in somber tones. An extraordinary essay in the visual arts.
The artwork and music for this series are as exceptional as the story. Visual and aural clues abound on a symbol-ridden landscape. Stylistically it uses static backgrounds with foreground animation to present a continually graphic effect. Both the progression of scenes and the images presented are complex, demanding viewer attention.
Lain has had a cult following for some time (it won the excellence prize in Japan's 1998 Media Art Festival) but has come to US audiences slowly. This is a beautiful, experimental piece of film work. If that interests you than you will no doubt want the whole series. And the set is the best and most economic way way to accomplish that.

utterly delightful comedy!

Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton star in the classic comedy 9 TO 5, a gem that has achieved well-deserved cult status!
Violet Newstead (Tomlin), Judy Bernly (Fonda) and Doralee Rhodes (Parton) are three savvy secretaries who have had it with the sexist, egotistical slave-driver who employs them (Dabney Coleman). After having an "old-fashioned ladies pot party", they unknowlingly lay the groundwork on a plan to kidnap the boss and change the conditions in which they have to work.
Parton wrote the chart-topping title song while sitting on the set one day, while the supporting cast , including Elizabeth Wilson as Roz, is first-rate.
Highly recommended!

Compelling :-)

Derek Zoolander is plagued by more issues than a whole season of Afterschool Specials: Dead mother, working class background, distant father, dead friends, double crossing manager, aging in a youth obsessed business, inability to turn left. Yet, somehow Derek Z. comes out all right -- because he has a positive mental attitude (PMA). If you like this movie, I suggest the DVD "Gia," and the books "Gia" and "Edie." No, really, the more you see the dark side of modelling, the more you'll appreciate just how fun, upbeat, and unbeatable Derek Zoolander is. This movie is zip-zip-zip quick funny, with amazing costumes, great music, and lots of throwbacks to the 80's (and some 60's and 70's) fashion and pop culture. If you like bright colors, fast pacing, and characters who are (at times blindly) optimistic, you'll dig Zoolander! Zoolander is funny throughout; in every scene, Zoolander and Hansel (Owen Wilson) are inherently funny and likable. And bonus -- reporter Christina Taylor looks a lot like Marcia Brady. Like Night at the Roxbury and Undercover Brother, Zoolander deserves repeat viewings.

UHF DVD ~a must have!!

Well, I received my DVD in the mail yesterday, and the first thing I did was look for the one Easter Egg I knew how to find! From the Main Menu, pick Special Features. Then, select any option that is on the other side. You will see Al come on screen to tell you you have to turn the disc over. If you select the same item two more times, Al gets more annoyed each time! Very funny! There are others, but you can find out about them from other fans.... The deleted scenes are hilarious, with Al coming onscreen to comment on them every so often. Running commentary is an option as well. Lots of great stills, and some more cool options like foreign language options for sound and subtitles. Al showed some of us lucky fans at a convention how you could watch UHF in French with Spanish subtitles! lol! The movie itself looks very nice and clear. Al did a great job making this a fun DVD for all the fans! Two thumbs WAY up!!

This is one of the funniest, smartest and most entertaining cartoon on television. Each episode is around 15 minutes a piece (like most Cartoon Network Adult Swim toons).
If like bizarre humor, you'll love this cartoon ! Plus, its cheap compared to many other seasons on DVD.

Does this classic film need any other advise ?

This is the real milestone in what historic roots concerns . It owns a superb and extremely detailed scope about every frame of the Old Days of the Civil War .
This monumental film which belongs to the artistic museum of the memory is filmed with glorious and sublime good taste ; with wonderful script and ravishiung performances of all the cast .
There was any hole in this superb work . Consider this film as one of the top five best Americna films in anyage . It owns the seal of the immortality.
Somehow that statement when Scarlett O'Hara affirms that neither no one nor nothing will stop her , are part of its multiple virtues . The names of Rhet Butler and Scarlet O ` Hara now are part of the story .
The musical score : Tara `s theme pays a deserved homage to that well designed home in which Gable will tell her the famous answer : I don' t give a ...just before closing the door .
The movie runs for three hours and forty two minutes but with splendid cast and artistic direction ; you won' t miss it .
And beware this footnote : the special charm of this timeless resides in its mythological roots present in the uncosncious collective.

Long lost favorite.

I adored this show when I was younger and was rather disappointed when it was suddenly pulled from ABC's Saturday morning lineup. A friend just bought this for and I'm enjoying watching the episodes over again. There are a lot of things that totally went over my head as a child but are absolutely hilarious now.

What I'd really like would be to see the rest of the first season (and possibly the second season, too) out on DVD. I remembered the 'Cold Turkey' episode and was sad to discover that there's no way to re-watch it at the moment.

Anyone who appreciate this show in the past should definitely give it another shot.
