Sudden Fear - movie DVD cover picture
"I was just wondering what I'd done to deserve you."

Successful, wealthy playwright Myra Hudson (Joan Crawford) sacks actor Lester Blaine (Jack Palance) from rehearsals for her latest Broadway play. Myra just doesn't see Lester as the great romantic lead she's looking for, but on a train bound for San Francisco, Lester 'coincidentally' meets Myra and shows her just how romantic he can be ...
Myra is a great character. She's so used to writing scripts that she mentally writes one for her life as a newlywed. Even though Myra's close associates regard free-loading Lance with suspicion, Myra only sees what she wants to see. She scripts herself as blissfully married to the most wonderful man on the planet, and that's how it plays out. But then Lester's girlfriend, the slightly sleazy, Irene Neves (Gloria Grahame) pops up in San Francisco, and Myra finds out the hard way that Lester is more interested in money than anything else. Myra handles the truth by writing another script in her mind, but carrying her plans out to their inevitable conclusion is a lot tougher in real life.
Joan Crawford is spectacular in the role of Myra. She seems to visibly age as events take their toll. Several scenes focus on her wild-eyed neurotic stares, and she manages to have a few hysterical scenes into the bargain. Gloria Grahame is my favourite B film noir actress, so it was a treat for me to see her teamed with Crawford. And Jack Palance as Lester is impressive--there are scenes in which he's so good, it's possible to read his mind and gauge how he wants to murder Myra. Director, David Miller's style is evident, and quite reminiscent of "Midnight Lace" (another husband and wife drama). The 50s San Francisco scenes are phenomenal and accentuate the plot (you'll see why). The DVD transfer leaves a lot to be desired--the picture is grainy and dark, but at least it's on DVD and in print. Joan Crawford fans, seek out this film, and prepare for an evening of suspenseful entertainment--displacedhuman.

It's never been so quiet at the end...

A very good suspense, worth paying the general price to see at night. Don't go alone, this is something you should share. Truthfully, I've never walked out of a theatre with everyone so quiet, like they finished the kindergarden trip to the morgue. I'll spare any actual details of the movie because you should see it for yourself. The plot was very well written; beginning, middle, an excellent ending (not anti-climatical). Go see it.Before you die, you see the ring.

An inspirational piece for animators.

This is the greatest movie that ever flopped at the box office. Im a computer animation student and watching this is just an inspiration. This film is for anyone who misses the Millenium Falcon. It doesn't live up too Star wars or Matrix but as an animated film it's greater than any weak rip-off disney can come with. Titan Ae brings back memories of old animated classix like Heavy Metal and Transformers the Movie, among others, where there is awesome animation, booming soundtrack and characters who are driven by their desires and agendas (despite the lack of depth). Nowadays we have sissy cartoon movies like Pokemon out, selling stupid toys but Titan Ae actually delivers. So far the best movie to be inspired by Star wars, among the ranks of Independence Day. I love this movie and i'll get the sequel which won't come out now since so-called sci-fi/action movie lovers didn't show up to support it.Pity . I liked it on Vhs but this movie is made for DVD. So dont miss out.

bravo jen and ben at their best

If you like cheap "made for tv movies" (as I do) you'll love this movie. The acting is stilted, the dialogue makes no sense, the plot is meaningless. The scenery is amateurish. I give it five stars because it's so bad that it's actually quite good.

The best action film ever!!

This film contains all the elements that make a action good, and more. With the best villain ever, Alan Rickman, and Bruce Willis in his only decent role ever, Die Hard I is a classic. The only thing bad about this film is that the sequals are poor.

X-Men Evolution Collection - movie DVD cover picture
This is a great version of the x-men!

I've seen almost every episode up to date, and i feel that this is a great version of the x-men! Even though some characters are different from the comic versions, I feel that this show does its justice. Even though some characters are not shown to be as powerful as they can be, you have to keep in mind that most of the characters are still in high school. This season is an introduction to all of our favorite characters, as well as others that were not seen in the last cartoon version of the x-men. The last two episodes are great and are a must see. All together, if you are a fan of the x-men, this is a must have!

Ryan Gosling and Michael Pitt Shine

I was very intrigued to see this movie because my mom had told me about the Leopold and Loeb killings. Also I remember watching Ryan Gosling on the Mickey Mouse Club when I was younger and he was wonderful as Bosely in Remember the Titans not to mention Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses. The movie definetley managed to keep my attention preventing my brain from letting my legs get up and head towards the bathroom even until after the movie. There was a great amount of sexual attention between the characters Cassie (Bullock) and Richard (Gosling) that definetley added to the plot twists. Anyone who did not want to beat the snot out of Richard right up until the very end of this movie is crazy. He bullies Justin (Pitt), who Michael does an outstanding job playing, and just uses everybody in order to further himself. There is a surprising twist at the end that I for one did not see coming. A definete must see.

An American Classic

The absolute best movie Sally Fields ever made. Her performance in this movie is extraordinary, and she is so believable in this role. Shows the strength, courage, and resourcefulness of a woman facing adversity. The cotton field scenes are incredibly realistic.
