J.Lo ROCKS in "Enough."

I am a hardcore Jennifer Lopez fan and I just had to see this movie....J.Lo stars in the screen with action, grit and determination. It was very refreshing to see her portraying a vastly different situation from her other the movies. Basically, the movie is about a innocent woman ("Slim")who earnestly believes she has met the right guy and lives the perfect life. But when her husband, Mitch befomes a total coward and becomes unfatithful to her..she finally protests against his infidelity. This is when the good part comes in.. he constantly stalks and pursues her and their child, Gracie, until Slim has "Enough" and decides to finally even the score with an indomitable passion. In the end, the two go head -to-head, with Jennifer knocks the livin' daylights of him. Others may have their opinions, but this is a true A+, action-packed movie. Lopez keeps the screen in a wonderful, stunning performance.

A perfect non-hit.

This is greasy-haired, mid-90's, existentialist anti-drama at it's finest. Cliff Spab walks the world, like Camus' Stranger, unaffected by the violence, sex and drugs that inundate him. He stands, balanced on the edge of a knife, sometimes loathing the people around him for their foolishness and self-serving pretensions, and at other times loving them and embracing them for their helplessness and curiousity.

Not all people are capable of enjoying this movie.

Scenic, sexy, funny and non-stop action! Bond at his best!

This is my personal favorite of the Bond films, with Diamonds Are Forever and You Only Live Twice following closely behind. Miss Goodnight might not be the brightest Bond girl but I hardly blame Britt Ekland's performance. I believe the character is supposed to be a cute blond who looks good in a bikini and does more harm than good when she tries to help. Britt plays this character well and the character works very good opposite of Roger Moore's James Bond. It's also not that different from the bond girl in Diamonds Are Forever.

Excellent Memories

Wham! - The best of. This is a trip down memory lane, excellent for both the music, and a good laugh remembering how we all used to look back in the 80's. This is a good collection of Wham's song's, and in typical Wham! style, the production on this DVD is excellent. The audio is brilliant - Dolby Digital really enhances the enjoyment. The picture transfer is also Fantastic. This is what we expect from both Wham! and DVD Video. A must have for all fans of Wham!, and music lovers of the 80's era. No need to Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go!.

Best Christmas Film Of All Time

The film starts out slow but builds at a perfect pace. It is very high quality Horror Porn! It's like what if Stanley Kubrick made Last House On The Left. I highly recommend this film.

A Beautiful Actor

I've seen this film twice, the second time, taking my elderly mother since she is a big Russell Crowe fan. It was really a pleasure to watch her face as she watched Russell's riveting performance and then see her cry, when "John Nash" received his pens. She was truly moved and of course, so was I.
I then came home and "Gladiator" was on HBO, and I sat there, nearly stunned, watching this very same man play an entirely different kind of role and realized what a true chameleon and utterly brilliant film presence Russell is. His ability to encompass a character to the point where he seems to change his skin and color, like the chameleon, is truly amazing. And I challenge anyone who sees this film to not believe they are looking at Russell at age 70. I have NEVER seen an actor age beyone his years more convincingly. (Did anyone think he looked just like another brilliant actor, the late Jason Robards?)
I've read a lot of critiques on this film and some have said it oversimplifies or somehow makes light of the illness. I challenge that and say this: when a film works, it works at the level of simplicity, it works when the story is told in the simplest way to achieve the inner truth of its characters and this film does this in spades. The visual way in which Ron Howard and of course, Russell, show us Nash's delusions and paranoia is at its simplest, and therefore we connect and understand. What can be better than that? I also could see so clearly how love can keep a man alive, and Jennifer Connelly was also amazing in this movie. There are also little cinematic touches (e.g., lights) that continue to show us Nash's mind. I say, bravo, Ron Howard.
See this film, then watch "Gladiator" and tell me you are not amazed (or, at the very least, "not entertained?"). If there is any doubt as to Russell Crowe's ENORMOUS talent after seeing this film, I say "what exactly are YOU watching?"

A bit of everything for the anime otaku.....

An American's first look at Naga the Serpent as Lina and Naga have another little mis-adventure in the island of Mipross. This movie has the typical Slayers humor, spell-tossing, and of course DRAGON SLAVE! Watch it, watch it again, and loan it to your friends. This movie is a good stand-alone introduction to Slayers and many times exceeds the series.

The Prequel to 'Saving Private Ryan!'

Indeed, Commando is a fine movie. It is full of action, suspense, humor, and moments of sadness. Other war movies can only hope to match the ingeniuty and creativity that brought this epic to life! Unfortunately, some directors have gone too far in borrowing from this textbook film on military escapades!
I must confess, that my daily viewings of Schwarzeneggar's masterpiece have led me to conclude that Steven Spielberg's 'Saving Private Ryan' is thievery at its worse! Indeed, the plot of the two films is nearly identical!
To wit, I offer the following parallels:
1. Arnold's character is a military man. *(Tom Hank's character in 'Ryan' is a military man).2. Arnold's military mission in 'Commando' is to wrest his young daughter from the battlegrounds of an island infested with guerillas! *(Hanks mission in 'Ryan' is to wrest a young man from the battlegrounds of France that are infested with Nazis!)3. Arnold storms the beaches of the guerilla-infested island and annihilates every guerilla who foolishly dares to challenge him! *(Hanks storms the beaches of France and annihilates every Nazi who foolishly dares to challenge him!)
The parallels do not end there, of course! When you watch this movie, carefully consider the scenes, the make up, the background music, and the dialogue, and you are certain to find that 'Ryan' is nothing more than the evil stepchild of this classic film!
With regard to the story itself, I am somewhat taken aback by the sad fact that Schwarzeneggar was denied yet again in his perennial bid to garner a 'best leading actor' award for himself! Arnold's range of emotions in this film are staggering, to say the least! His unforgetful character demonstrates boldness, fearlessness, and unrelenting determination in his bid to wrest his young daughter from the clutches of his enemies!
For example, in one scene, Arnold nearly reduces the audience to tears when he learns that his daughter has been kidnapped. His decisiveness and unwavering resolve to act quickly and lethally will move any who can sit through this tear-jerking scene. Instead of capitulating to the demands of his enemies, Arnold instead resorts to the sort of antics that Arnold fans have grown to love! He puts a slug through the temple of his arch enemy's messenger! He then proceeds to rush out of his lush mountain cabin to push and then maneuver his debilitated Bronco (no engine and no brakes) down the side of the steep mountain upon which his cabin sits. Indeed, one cannot help but be moved by Schwarzeneggar's great love for his child! To risk a horrific death for the mere pleasure of embracing his child just once more strikes at the conscience of us all. Would any parent's devotion to his child be so great that he would push his debilitated vehicle over a cliff? I think not!
Rent this movie! You are certain to do some much needed soul-searching after being exposed to this masterful work!

Genius makes its own destiny

Emimen stars as "B.Rabbit" a factory worker in Detroit who has a talent for rapping. After splitting from his girlfriend, he moves back home--but is ashamed to admit it to his friends. "Home" by the way, is a dilapidated trailer on 8 Mile. In scenes that make Detroit look like Berlin after the allies finished with it, we know that poverty is very real to the desperate people who nurse dreams of escape. Kim Basinger plays Rabbit's damaged, bingo-addicted, insufferable mother, and this is the best role she's ever had.
Rabbit dreams of making it and signing with a big label, and he's counting on his rapping skills to get him there. He obsesses on his rhymes and covers sheets of paper covered with hieroglyphic-like scrawl. Rabbit's misfit friends encourage Rabbit--hoping that if he makes it big, they will too.
This is raw, gritty film, and Eminem does a spectacular job--as always. No doubt this film will bring Eminem the artistic respect that he has long deserved.

Awesome Man Movie

Rounders is such a fun and exciting movie to watch. This is a very under-rated movie! I'm probably biased because I happen to enjoy poker very much, and this movie is definitely a poker player's movie. The story and plot are very interesting, but the stars really steal the show here. Matt Damon plays a smart poker player who struggles with the choice of living the "gamblers life" which is where his heart and skill reside, or trying to be a "normal" person with a normal job. Edward Norton plays his weasely friend who is always finding trouble and needs Matt Damon to bail him out. The real star of the show is the owner of a poker club played brilliantly by John Malkovich. He plays a principal role in the movie as the driving force behind a fight for the main characters life vis a vis the poker table. You will not regret watching this movie. The only downside is that some of the moves made by Matt Damon are somewhat foolishly believed to be super suave, and might actually be terrible in real life poker.
