JEEEEzus! (no spoilers)

I don't know what else to say besides what's already been said. I'll just summarize it the best way I know how. If EVA is the best anime series ever (which it just might be), then episodes 18-20 have got to be the BEST ANIMATED ANYTHING I've ever seen. Holy geez, even the dub pulled off a great job. Buy this disc. Just friggin' BUY it.

The Passion of the Christ (Full Screen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
Very Good, Very True

First off, many of you may or may not believe that Jesus Christ was and IS the Son of God as I do. I'm not writing this review to beat you over the head with my bible, but this movie was not a "cool bloodfest" as other individuals so inconsiderately stated If you can watch this movie and NOT feel anything more than a "cool" sensation brought on by the blood and violence, then you are missing the ENTIRE point of the film and should reconsider watching it with a more open mind. I believe it is much more than just an ordinary film (although, yes, it is a movie), it is a powerful depiction of the last 12 hours of Jesus' life on earth. Was it a little too violent? Well, that would be something better left in your hands to decide. The movie is as violent as it needs to be. However, younger individuals (maybe some older) may find some of the images disturbing. All I can recommend is to use discretion when viewing. If you have not see the film, though, I would strongly suggest (as well as the other millions of people who witnessed and were touched by the film) to buy it or even just rent it!

a cult favorite

lots of jokes. some noteworthy appearences by allen cummings, posie parker, and some other underground names.some of the jokes require knowledge of other events, which makes it unaccesable to some viewers. a nice, light, kinca-cult movie.

Best show I have ever watched

This is without a doubt the best series I ever got into. Right from the first promo before the show started here in Australia I thought I really want to watch that.

Great stories, great acting and plenty of action. Leaves most shows for dead.

i wouldnt go as far as to say that this film was one of thegreatest horror films ever. but it definitely is SCARY(the beginningand the end, that is). the middle of this movie was justbad. watching some jerk walk around like a lost kitten was justpathetic. but the opening scene and the finale were horrifying andliterally scared the mess out of me. i dont think ive ever screamedas loud as i did when i saw the ending.

Dark and Disturbing

Frailty is the first movie that I've seen since Seven that I've left the movie theatre with a deeply affected air. This movie is not a traditional screamer that freaks you out. It is more in the vein of a Poe short story or even one of King's darkest novels. It follows the story of Finton Meeks a man who apparently knows who the hand of god killer is and wants to tell a Sheriff at the F.B.I. headquarters in Dallas, Texas. As he unfolds his story it becomes more apparent that he is telling the truth but also that he is hiding something. The ending is absolutely brilliant. This movie is so good that it will actually blur the lines between good and evil and what is real and unreal. All the actors gave great performances especially the boy who played Finton Meeks as a young person. Also Bill Paxton did an excellent job with directing the film. This is a classic horror movie that is on the same level as "The Shining" and "Pet Semetary." This movie is not recommended to those who can not stand disturbing movies with Religious themes. But it's a great horror film that is reccommended to all other adults.

Kylie Minogue - Live in Sydney - movie DVD cover picture

I have to admit, I have only heard the name Kylie Minogue for the last ten years. At least until last year. "Fever" was a big deal here in this country, and I bought it, and loved every minute. It was a pop album, but it didn't sound like Britney, or Christina, or even Madonna. That's MY kind of pop album. Then, I heard that a couple of her concerts were out on DVD, and I got a Playstation 2, so I dove in and bought "Live In Sydney". All I can say is that this is like no concerts I can remember. Yeah, I saw Madonna, and Janet Jackson, and Britney (against my will). This concert was different for one big reason...
1) Kylie sang all the songs live, and her voice was intact from start to finish!
Having seen the other pop concerts, lip synching is a big turn off. Kylie really shocked me in a good way, and the fact that her voice just stayed pretty steady (even when she was dancing) the whole time sold it for me. I wasn't familiar with most of the songs, but when all was said and done, I heard some new favorites of mine. This DVD captures her energy and kindness and class so well. The crowd was great (what did you expect, it's her home country!), and the music was fun. This was also the first time that the smash hit "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" was played live. Very organic sounding compared to the version we know of. But, it got me off my chair, so mission accomplished. This DVD is a good look at this woman's career at it's peak (before Fever), and it's definitely recommended for Kylie newbies or old fans. You'll have fun, and that's all that matters!

Shall we dance?

This delightful musical brings back a lot of songs from my childhood - so many in one musical that many people can easily relate to.I purchased this because of another movie I had recently seen, "Shall we dance?" which has English subtitles in the Japanese film. Both movies bring joy to one's life as we learn about the cultural differences, customs, dance, and music from other countries.... and as we share the same song and love of dance. The King and I is a timeless masterpiece. The cast is perfectly placed and the viewer is magically transported to their kingdom of Siam where they believe their country is the greatest and largest (see the map they have of the world during one of the children's lessons) and then learn how they deal with the truth.....I would highly recommend this movie and suggest purchasing it as a timeless classic.
