I've just sent a man to paradise for the price of thread

This is a wonderful movie! The acting, the script - evrything gels. There is a powerful message about how we treat immigrants both legal and not, or anybody who works a "menial" job. On top of that there is an intriguing mystery, a tender love story, and human drama. One of the best movie's of 2003! It is sublime.

...Different.....Shocking.....Funny....pure Genius..!!!!!

John water's Pink Flamingos was extremely shocking. This movie is deff. for certain tastes. IF you like sick, crude, and disgusting behavior then deff. buy this. I happen to be pretty sick and twisted myself thats why I enjoy vile crude humor. I didn't expect this movie to be that entertaining. Divine and her son Crackers are simply amazing. they keep you focused and entertained pretty much throughout the whole film. Divine and her lovely family which consists of crackers, cotton and Oh yes... we cannot forget about the mother in the play pen eating eggs all day. Divine and her family are constantly competing against another family who sells babies to lesbian couples. Divine wants to be the "filthiest of them All" and she certainly proves it in this amazing and stunning film. John Waters is deff. underated and derserves more credit, I just wish there was a sequel. Anyway I won't ruin the movie for you curious people out there, its just something you will have to see for yourselves......

Outstanding Movie! Recommended!

I originally saw this on TV and had to buy the DVD! Gerard Butler (Attila) gives an outstanding performance, I can't imagine who else could have the look and talent to pull off playing Attila any better - he makes Attila fierce, powerful, ambitious, intelligent, and caring all at once, and you find yourself really getting into his character and caring about him.
The movie is packed with action, drama, suspense and romance.. something for everyone! The effects are great, and the other actors are good as well. Definitely much more than I expected from a TV movie.

Looking for love in all the right places...

Accidently caught this late night movie while channel surfing in a hotel room on a freezing London night far from home and nursing a cold.I was enchanted as I'd never heard of it.Jack Lemmon as Wendell Armbruster and Juliet Mills as Pamela Pigott give convincing portrayals of a millionaire american and a working class englishwoman come to Italy to retrieve the bodies of his father and her mother, who unknown to their families had been lovers for years and had died tragically together in a car accident.Jack Lemmon displays his acumen for comedy without even trying and miss Mills gives an understated performance. But kudos must go to the person who cast Clive Reville in the part of Carlucci the indispensible hotel manager. When he blurts out 'idiota' to an incompetent underling in absolute frustration its an absolute delight. It was a while before I realized he wasnt neapolitan. What a pity his talents have not been more recognized.I would also commend the melodic theme music arranged by Mr Rustichelli. The ending was not a complete surprise but fitting all the same. Please rent this one out all you romance lovers, you will not be disappointed, ...as for my cold,lo and behold the next morning it was gone!,funny that...

Jack Bauer is back and better than before!!!

As this season opens, Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) life is falling apart. His wife was murdered, and his daughter, Kim has disowned him. Suddenly he gets a call from the President of the United States (expertly portrayed by Dennis Haysbert) asking him to stop a terrorist plot to detonate a nuclear weapon in Los Angeles. Upon accepting the mission, Jack is thrust into an emotional game of mystery and deciet as he goes undercover to uncover the location of the bomb. One of the highlights of the season is when Jack is reunited with Nina Myers (Sara Clarke), Jack's former co-worker at the Counter-Terrorist Unit, who is responsible for murdering his wife. The real-time aspect of the show helps to build the tension as things get steadily worse for Jack Bauer. Attention is given to every minor detail in order to maintain consistancy throughout the story. The characters constantly change throughout the story as the situations gets more intense. George Mason, Jack's untrusting boss, learns to respect Jack's unconventional methods and in the end is willing to sacrifice himself so that Jack can have a second chance to put his life back together. Tony, Jack's friend, will eventually try to hinder Jack's investigation, which has the potential to prevent an all-out war! Based on the features of the previous DVD, we can expect the season to be presented in the Widescreen format, with surround sound, and a preview of what is to come in Season three. I know I speak for every fan of this series when I say I can't wait!

A Little Something for Everyone!!!

You know I got this video because of the kids, but as I watched this video, I realized that there is something in this movie for everyone! Here you got this father who is deathly afraid of going anywhere after watching his wife and tiny eggs get killed right before his eyes, all except Nemo. So, he tries to protect him, and on the very first day of school, he gets taken by this Australian dentist who puts him in his fish tank and wants to give him as a present to his niece. The best thing about this video is Nemo's dad, who wouldn't go far, always stayed close to home, goes out in the deep blue searching for his son, and Dory, who can't remember Jack past a minute, she was hilarious. And the turtles, you couldn't help but love them. Get this video and enjoy!! I promise there is something for everyone.

Million Dollar Baby (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
It's not about boxing. And it's not about the twist ending.

"Million Dollar Baby" is a great, no-frills, to-the-gut movie. It's not just about boxing, despite what you may think after seeing the trailer, and it's not about the twist ending, though the movie is better if you don't know what's coming at the end. It's tightly made, carries a hell of an impact and features some of the best acting you're likely to see onscreen this year.

Clint Eastwood gives one of his best performances in years - if not his best ever - as Frankie Dunn, a grizzled boxing coach so beaten up by life that he refuses to allow his contending fighters to take any risks or any chances. Frankie counsels his fighters to approach a title bout with the sort of reluctance and pre-destined disappointment that he applies to his entire life. He goes to church every week, but he's a guilt-ridden skeptic, not really a believer. He wants a relationship with his daughter, but she has made it abundantly clear that she wants nothing to do with him. Given any number of opportunities, he's taken none of them. Frankie runs a gym with his closest friend Scrap Iron (Morgan Freeman), who used to be one of Frankie's boxers until he lost an eye.

Into Frankie's life comes Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank), a waitress who wants to be a boxer even though she has no training, is a bit out-of-shape and is way too old to start a serious career.

For the first half of the film, it does follow the formula of a "boxing movie;" however, these characters are fleshed-out and real, and the movie is more about following dreams that only you can see and rising above the circumstances that you're presented with. The last portion of the film is about how life, even when it's sweet, can be desperately unfair.

The movie's heartbreaking, compelling and grand. I highly recommend it.

The Last Days of Frank & Jesse James - movie DVD cover picture
A FIRST RATE WESTERN!

This film will please Frank and Jesse James buffs who have longed to see a film with various elements of James history and folklore that have been ignored in other films. Frank was a Southern Christian gentleman and student of the Bard and also a thief and killer and Cash does a fine job capturing his contradictions. Cash can convey intelligence, heart, spirtuality and just as believably sing about killing a man just to watch him die and he is brilliant here. Kristofferson is superb as Jesse and June Carter Cash, Willie Nelson, and David Allan Coe are all impressive in smaller roles. Sadly Willie's part is only a cameo, but it's pure gold. A fine movie that fans of the cast, Frank and Jesse James enthusiasts, and Western fans are sure to enjoy.

An Incredible Show- The Best Drama Ever On Television

This most-likely short-lived drqma (I'm betting there will only be two seasons) is heart-stopping. It is unbelievable how hard so many people had to work to make this show work. By the way, no one could play Jack Bauer besides Sutherland. This is his career-defining role. Make sure you make this one part of your DVD library.
