This film is simply hilarious in all aspects

The comedy doesn't deliver many laughs, and I just didn't care for the movie's general atmosphere...but it was okay. I thought Dr. Evil was hilarious, and Mike Meyers delivered an excellent kind of forget that one person is playing both Dr. Evil and Austin Powers...that's how good his acting is. Well, I'm looking forward to the sequel....

Remember The Titans

Yes, I think I can Remember The Titans just as soon as I forget the Chicago Enforcers. The Titans went a whole season without lost one game. This is based on a true story.
Denzel Washington plays Harold Boone, a strict football coach. Harold sets a time when the players should show up to a bus for camp. Or they will sit out the whole season on the bench.
He replaces the Titans white coach named Bill Yoast. He is played by Will Patton. His nine years old daughter doesn't like her father not being the coach. The Titans are a high school team.
Haydenn Panettiere plays Bill's daughter named Sheryl Yoast. At a game, the players sing "We are the Titans." And thier foe coach saids, "Who do they think they are the Beatles?"
I am not a big football fan. But I did enjoy this movie. The movie mostly takes place in 1971. In Chicago we now have two football teams, The Chicago Bears and the Chicago Enforcers. If you like movies based on a true story, then I can I think you might enjoy My Dog Skip.

Excellent thriller with social concerns...

I've recently purchased "The China Syndrome" after viewing it for some time. Although I was younger than 5 when it was released in 1979, I'm really not in an authentic position to appreciate it's paralleled social impact during the Three Mile Island incident, but I do appreciate the social and technologiclal issues that it tries to explore, which still are valid today as it was in the late 70's. As an practicing engineer, I laud this film for its diligent look into the ethical and social dilemmas that Jack Adell (Lemmon) and the engineering community at large must contend with in order to create and utilize new technological concepts with an imperative responsibility to the public, even in lieu of corporate opposition. The potential hazards of nuclear power must never be shunned as a "casual inconvenience", as Lemmon's bosses seem to embrace after the plant's near-meltdown in order to salvage their attempt in obtaining a license from the NRC for a new plant. Hopefully, this film didn't tarnish America's attitude toward the nuclear industry as a whole. I almost decided to become a NUKE engr. myself, but the market just wasn't there. Twenty years later, "The China Syndrome" is a excellent contemporary drama/thriller with fine performances and underlying social messages.

Great workout - and Fun!

Another reviewer said this workout is low impact and too easy.I have to say this is not low impact, there is quite a bit of jumping where both feet are off the floor and that is considered high impact. If you are a beginner to intermediate exerciser, you will definately break a sweat. Minna is low key, friendly and approachable. The weight segment is very effective. The only problem I have with the video is that Minna's cueing is off sometimes and you really have to learn to memorize the moves because she doesn't always cue when there is a change. For that reason, it would be quite challenging for a very beginner but with time you will pick up the moves. As far as workouts go it is fun and challenging. I like doing both the workouts on the same day.

A season about passion

This is not my favorite season because there are some stupid episodes in it, like Some Assembly Required, Bad Eggs, Killed by Death and Go Fish. But this is an amazing season.. Buffy and Angel's relationship is really touching. Spike and Drusila are lovely and scary at the same time. Xander and Cordy, Willow and Oz are so cute together! The theme is love, passion in this season so be prepared for romance and some heart-breaking episodes such as Surprise, Innocence, Passion, I Only Have Eyes For You and Becoming 1&2.
The show hits its stride here and it remains perfect throw seasons 2-6. Not that season seven is bad but not as good as the previous! If you haven't watched it yet, give it a try.

if you stop comparing different versions, you'll love it

I have read many reviews on this movie, and before watching it, I have always been a fan of Michael Crowfold's phantom, and I love the book version a lot. Like many of you, I had my doubts before I watched the movie. But honestly, I just totally enjoy and love the movie version. One thing that may help you, to really enjoy this movie, you need to try to stop comparing it to other versions. I believe the producer/director/actors were trying to make something new here, and they certainly did it for me. As I was watching, I just developed a deep sympathy towards all three lead characters (Phantom, Christine and Roual). Before, I really only cared about Phantom. I think the cast and the script are both amazing. They made this love triangle the most memoriable one in film history in my opion! I especially enjoy the contrast between Gerard Butler (phantom) and Patrick Wilson (Roual): they differ in their body built, in their voice, in their acting style (GB more physical and expressive, PW more subtle)...yet they balance each other perfectly. Their contrast made me see Christine's delima clearly for the first time.
Of course, if you simply cannot get over it (that it is not like the "right" version in your mind), I'll have to say just the music, set, and costumes alone in this movie will worth your every penny. The whole production team simply just put so much efforts into it that you will love it one way or the other (story lines, acting, music, special effects etc. You will have to watch the special feature on Disc2 to really appreciate the team effort!), and that's why it is a five stars and must-have in my opinion.

A delightfully diffrent type of movie

In this dramatic comedy film by John Swanbeck we meet three salesman looking to score the big sale while in Witcheta, KS. This film is the adaptation of the stage play "The Hospitality Suite".
Phil (DeVito) is a guy who has been in the business for a while and in the middle of a divorce. He daydreams of cigars, brandy, and jumping off a high rise. Phil has known Larry (Spacey) for a while and it appears this isthe first time they have been paired up together in a while. Larry is a fast talking, honest (not blunt), and hypertensive salesman. From the moment his mouth opens he is complaining and joking around. Newcomer Peter Facinelli (Can't Hardly Wait, Supernova) plays Bob, the info guy. Bob is NOT a salesman, he just does the R & D for their lubricant company. Bob seems a lot more interested in selling God though.
The entire film takes place in the hospitality suite where they have their company - client mixer. All the while Larry goes on the hunt for the "Big Kahuna", the big sale that brought them to town. Bob is the only one that makes contact with him and it is purely by accident. Now they have to send in the non-salesman to land the deal of their lives.
All 3 actors give outstanding performances in this dramatic satire about God, lubricants, and the proper hors d'vours to serve your clients.

Known details for this release

I was surprised to find that a special edition of The Mark of Zorro [1940] was coming out and went searching through some of the bigger Internet media sellers to see what's to be known. Fortunately, I did come across a few details - I don't know if they're complete or not:

"Disc 1 side 1: Colorized Feature; Commentary by Richard Schickel
Disc 1 side 2: Black and White Feature; Commentary by Richard Schickel; Biography: Tyone Power: The Last Idol; Studio Classics Previews"

I loved watching "The Mark of Zorro" growing up, and made sure to tune in whenever it was on television. I've probably seen the 1940 "Mark of Zorro" in it's original B&W as often as I've seen it in color. And I am very glad that both versions of the movie will be available to consumers on this DVD.

Hopefully Amazon will get an update from Fox on the Special Edition DVD soon and can fill out the details for us.
