The Moody Blues - A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra - movie DVD cover picture
A stunning sight and sound experience. . . .

Moody Blues fans have long enjoyed and admired the group's unique ability to capture visual imagery in music. In this respect, Live at Red Rocks is a crowning achievement.
The beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheater provides a uniquely appropriate setting for the Moodies' haunting blend of rock melodies and classical accompaniments. The video does an excellent job of incorporating the scenery into the musical flow of the presentation.
Several facets of this production are noteworthy. The film masterfully captures the interplay between the band and the audience, long one of the group's touring trademarks. It also does a wonderful job of documenting the three generation span of Moody Blues enthusiasts, scanning the attendees to reveal middle aged grandparents in casual clothing, twenty-something hippee wannabees, and some fully involved pre-teens, all lost in the rapture of a major Moodies event.
Viewers with a good ear will notice that many of the vocals have a slightly strained quality, not sounding quite as good as one might expect from the likes of Hayward, Lodge and Thomas. This is because Justin was fighting a nasty case of laryngitis the night the video was filmed. Even with that disadvantage, the music still manages to be far beyond ordinary.
So far as the music, the normal repertoire is here. Standard stage versions of classics like Nights in White Satin, Lovely to See You, Story in Your Eyes and their traditional closer, Ride My SeeSaw are included. A true highlight is a magnificent version of New Horizons, powerfully enhanced by a dynamic orchestral background score.
When all is considered, A Night at Red Rocks is a true five-star experience. Don't miss it!

Yes, the acting is bad, but if you love Olivia, and Gene, this is great. I used to dance around the living room to the songs when this movie first came out, (age 4), and even through growing up and having my own family, it is still one of my favorites.

Wayne's World 1 & 2 - The Complete Epic - movie DVD cover picture
Wayne's World! Wayne's World! Party Time! Excellent!

What started off as a simple SNL opening sketch in the beginning of the 90's has become one of the greatest classic movies of all time. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey star as Wayne Campbell (Myers) and Garth Algar (Carvey) in both of these movies.

In the original "Wayne's World", Wayne is on a quest to make his television show bigger than ever, but the only things standing in his way are his new girfriend and his ex-girlfriend. This movie is a classic. Buy it now!!!

The second movie is just as funny. Now, Wayne and Garth have to create a show called Waynestock, but where are they going to get all the bands? With the help of the late Jim Morrison, they strive to achieve their goals. Wayne also finds out that his girl is cheating on him. (A glitch in this movie that makes it funnier is when the airplane flies, the line it's on is visible.)

Buy both movies. They are worth your money. The late, great Chris Farley also makes his very first cameo appearances in these movies as well.

genius, why was this film forgotten at Oscar time?

SLC Punk stands for Salt Lake City Punk, when I first heard about this film I simply said "what the hell does SLC stand for?" This movie takes place in 1985,which is genius showing the early punk years. That's why your not going to see any Green Day, Rancid, or The Casualties t-shirts or posters. But they do talk about the "Sex Pistols" and the "Ramones" The thing that caught the corner of my eye was that James Meredino decided to shoot this film in 2:35:1. Shouldn't it be in 1:85:1? But I guess that's James Merdino's style. For a movie which they only wasted eight hundred thousand dollars, it looks pretty damn good. It looks like they wasted more than eight hundred thousand dollars.
This film is about two punkers named "Stevo and heroin Bob (Matthew Lillard and Michael Goorjian) who are college graduates who's dream is to make pure anarchy all over the country. Stevo's dad is a lawyer, who wants Stevo to go to Harvard Stevo has the grades, but he doesn't want to go with the system. After hardcore punk shows, and punch of drugs taken in, the two punks don't know what to do in Salt Lake. Heroin Bob doesn't really do heroin, infact he is scared of needles, that's why they call him that. What really caught my attention in this film is Til Schweiger and how well he played his character mark. My favorite scene is when Mark explains how his whole family died, I know you will love that scene. Til Schweiger did that part so well it deserved an Oscar. This film talks about the history of punk, and what a punker thinks.
This DVD includes audio commentary by Matthew Lillard, Michael Goorgian, and writer/director James Meredino. The commentary is really funny. What I noticed in it was the fact that they mentioned they took out some scenes, so where are all the deleted scenes? This DVD also includes the trailer for this film, and the movie "go". It also shows art stills from the original comic book. There's not a behind the scenes look, but I guess it's still cool. There is a lot of flash backs in this film, which when Stevo goes back into talking to the person you go, "woo I forgot he was talking to that guy". It is fantastic to see those effects. If you listen to punk music, or is interested in the punk philosophy, you need to watch this slightly twisted film.

I can not believe this movie. This is a very explicit movie with very harsh sexual language. I love Reese Witherspoon and she acted her part very well, but it does not make up for the horrible content. This movie took a little girl and turned her into something horrible. Not even half way through the movie I had to turn it off. I would not recommend this to anyone to watch or waste their money on renting it.

I first viewed this DVD about two years ago when I had a number of free NetFlix rentals and chose to view this. I was incredibly awe-inspired and emotionally moved by the contents of this disc. It sucked me right in and kept me well after the final credits rolled.
If there was ever any need of a piece of Anime to demonstrate that good Anime is not your run of the mill animation, I can't think of a better movie to watch. GOtF's story sets it apart with distinction.

a must have romantic movie

After renting this movie several times I finally bought it to save money. I think watching the 1st time is when I fell in love with Michelle Pfeiffer. Al Pacino is quite humorous & amorous as Frankie with M.P. as Johnny. If you like romantic movies with humorous & serious scenes, I recommend this. The soundtrack is good too.

Soul Food - The Complete First Season

When I watch Soul Food, I am reminded of my own upbringing as well as the upbringing of many of my friends. This family has many of the same problems and crisis' that almost every American family faces (Black, White, Hispanic and Asian). It's well-written, well-acted, and it lets its characters be vividly real. It reminds us that not all African Americans are living in desperate poverty; we are just like many other American families. Soul Food explores storylines that many network series delve into with predominantly Caucasian casts, such as class, crime, religion, sex, but the networks rarely show them from an African American perspective. Soul Food almost never made race a central concern but it surely never tried to cover up the fact that race plays an important role in these character's lives. I can not wait for the rest of the seasons to be released. This is a show that everyone should have in their collection.

Very good perfomance

This movie is one of if not my single all time favorites. This is saying an awful lot, as I generally don't favor dramas. However, the plot was fairly unique, the script was amazing, and the acting was great on all accounts, but highlighted by career-best performances from Damon and Williams. Edgy enough to keep you interested, and dramatic enough to truly move you. A fantastic movie.
