Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (2-Disc Collector's Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
I agree with San Francisco

There are 3 kinds of movies are enjoy the most when done right: Horror, romantic comedies, and of course PIRATE MOVIES!!! :D
The plot revolves around William(Orlando Bloom) and a girl(Forget her name, played by Keira Knightly) who have a run in with some pirates. Keira Knightly's character has a medalion that Caption Barbosa(Geoffry Rush), the caption of the Black pearl(hence the title), needs so that they can become mortal again. So of course Keira Knightly is kidnapped and William goes to her rescue with the help of captian Jack Sparrow(Jonny Depp). And well I wont say anything more in regards to the plot.!
I guess its basiclly your typical pirate movie in the plot sense, but its GREAT.! Its better then average.! It has marvelous music, action sequense, beautiful locations, and great acting all around(Especially Depp he is absolutely perfect and amazing as Jack Sparrow. He really makes the movie. Though Geoffry Rush is quite good as well and of course Orlando Bloom is just plain hot and hahahaha anyways...). It seems like you're reading a VERY exciting book and it was A LOT better then I had expected it to be.
So go ahead and see it. If you don't enjoy it, there must be something wrong with you.!
God Bless ~Amy

One of the Best DVD collections ever

No matter how many times i watch these movies, it just seems that i would never get bored of them. Rambo is going to always be a meomorable character. The good work came from the People who made this astonishing action hero especially David Morrel, for he is the one who had written the first story "First Blodd".

TheBest Movie You'll Want To Go See

When I come out of a movie such as this it feels good. It's nice not to be buried in pretentous philosophy or slapped in the face with false sentimentality. This is an extremely well-made American action picture. No beautiful fights, or martial arts, it's all about noise and strength. Big, loud car chases that leave you wanting to drive very fast after leaving. Characters that are cool enough that you want to know them, even if they are hyper-violent crazy nutjobs. You need half a brain to get the plot, and the dialogue is pretty atrocious, but all the actors have good charisma that overwhelms the mediocre material at the core of the movie. It is a pleasure, but not a guilty one as some have said, good action movies have been hard to come by recently. Swordfish and Tomb Raider seem to be the cream of the action movie crop lately, which is really pretty bad. One last thing, if you're tired of all the artsy directors, who tear down these types of movies for being worthless. Just see it, and show them that in order for a movie to be good, it has to be entertaining.

Great Period Piece

Very authentic timeframe depicting the tattered, oppressed Civil War South. Not terribly fast-paced, but life back then was this way. A must for your Clint collection. This 1971 installment from his long career exemplifies his broad acting range. Buy it if you like Clint and his style, and the story aint bad either!

The thought of a lord trying to be funny, is ludicrous, but Clint Eastwood did it. "Bronco Billy" is the best shot in the West, so he says. Watch him shoot plates being tossed up into the air. It's pure ability. Yes! I liked watching Billy jump from side-to-side of a galloping horse. It was almost comical. Good thing there was a bar fight in this movie, it was enjoyable. Why did that noisy blonde woman have to join the show? Those poor people who actually paid money for an already bad Wild West Show had to also listen to her? A lord does make a mistake here and there, Schwarzenegger with "Junior" and Eastwood with this. Oh well. But, as long as Clyde, the monkey, didn't show up, this movie would've been a complete nightmare.

Looney Tunes - Golden Collection - movie DVD cover picture
Wonderful set; complaints are unwarranted.

I have a large collection of DVDs, as I'm a connoissuer of film (new and old), and can say in earnest that this is THE BEST DVD purchase I've made, dare I say, ever! Certainly I would much rather have it that Warner released another option (perhaps a 'Platinum Collection') offering even more tunes. However, complaining isn't justified, as the tunes collected here look vibrant & colourful (sorry, I'm Canadian), and capture an era of animation filmaking that's come and gone - and is sorely missed! Do yourself a favour and buy the Gold set (buying the 'Silver Edition' should be outlawed!), and enjoy the masterpieces contained within, for years to come.

Magical and Enchanting

The secret garden .. I walked out of the cinema spell bound.
What was it which was soooo beautiful? Was it the innocence of Mary? The simplicity of the plot? The scenery?
An absolutely fantabulous film. A must, although definitely not for the shoot-em up action fan.

First-Rate Drama

Once again, Alfre Woodard shows us why she's one of the top American actresses. I do not understand why she isn't in more big-budget films. Just remember, this is the actress that lit up the stage twenty years ago in Ntozake Shange's For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide. . . ."
Down in the Delta is a splendid film, rich in character development, themes, and filmmaking. Angelou is to be applauded.
We need more films like this!

Enjoy Sixth Sense to its Maximum Potential

Although is a thriller movie is Good though. If you haven't seen it, It would be a good idea to stop reading any more reviews. Since the movie is unveiling mysteries as it develops, you should not know any of these ahead of time by reading reviews. It has good acting and decent effects. Perhaps the best part of the movie is the way it finishes. Have a good day!

Rear Window (Collector's Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
What else can you say?

"Rear Window" came to my attention 20 years ago, courtesy of my mom. She and I were talking about our favorite scary movies, and mine, of course, were confined primarily to blood and gore. She then told me about this amazingly simple story about "a man confined to a chair who may or may not have seen a murder." When I asked her how he could've seen a murder from his perspective in an apartment wheelchair, she told me "that's where all the suspense comes from." The movie was then rereleased in theaters, and I saw it for the first time. To put it simply, I was floored; no film with such a simple skeleton should have this much flesh and blood packed in a running time of 114 minutes. I went out and purchased it the moment it became a home video. The single-set confinement, the sub-stories involving the other neighbors, the cat-and-mouse interplay (not just with Jeffries and Thorwald, but with Stewart, Corey, Kelly, and Thelma Ritter) is spellbinding. (Sorry, that's another movie.) It's also a wonderfully adult movie, with more than a little sexy entendre betwixt James Stewart and the gorgeous Grace Kelly. One of my top ten favorites, I can honestly conclude that it is Hitchcock's masterpiece.
