I Almost Missed Out!!!!!!!

Thank goodness for I almost missed the opportunityto purchase one of the best series ever! I purchased Season Oneof La Femme Nikita when it came out and have waited for this moment. I spent precious time recording ALL seasons of this exceptional show. Nothing compares to the excitement of seeing this dramatic, heart racing series on DVD!!! The personal relationships that form in such intense situations, the moment to moment cliffhangers, the conclusions, all go together to make your mind think, it can really happen!!!!

Be Prepared!!

It has been a while since I have seen a movie that made me feel uncomfortable while watching it. Having just watched One Hour Photo I can no longer make such a claim. Director/Writer Mark Romanek has brought out the very best in Robin Williams who, in my estimation, delivers his most significant performance to date. Williams subtley brings a creepiness to the screen in a character the likes of which one would not have though him capable of playing. The film keeps viewers on edge for its entire running time and manages to deliver a few honestly funny moments. I would recommend this film to anyone in the mood for darker than normal fare.

Cool Cos

A classic. While I'm very conservative about buying VHS/DVD's, this one is worth it. If you like Bill Cosby, this is a performance you can watch again and again.
His humor regarding raising his children is especially entertaining.

A Part of ALL SHE MET...

Hey Everyone:
I just saw an incredible movie! I haven't been "challenged" or felt totally connected/upset/moved/confused/thrilled/ -excited/involved or felt connected to REAL Life as with THIS movie/book in many many years...
One particular moment gleaned from this presentation that our lives are almost too full like a "series of connected and disconnected continuous swirling complimentary plus conflicting events where we and others play major, minor, and insignificant rolls usually in very fleeting and very temporary ways... and yet, some of these certain people touch us and change us FOREVER! These incredibly important people in OUR lives leave us totally different but pass through never to be heard of again... and OUR super super important TIME with them may not even register on their consciousness..."
Isn't that why a lot of us are trying to reconnect with events in our past? Are we trying to rediscover these people, events, or are we searching for the feelings that their changes they made in us? WOW!
Winona and Angelina and the loving MESH this cast created is very very compelling!

Don't miss this movie

One of the best movies I have seen in a couple years at least. The lead actress played the role of the loving but unappreciated housewife perfectly and the supporting actors brought their loveable but quirky characters to life. It is one of those rare movies that is warm, uplifting and very enjoyable without resorting to sex, violence or psychologically twisted themes to keep the viewer's attention. This is a refreshing film that I would highly recommend to people tired of the standard Hollywood fare. I'm giving it as a Christmas present to my friends and family.

The best movie ever made.

This movie is undoubtibly the most unbelevible movie I have ever seen. Not only was it the first cartoon that I ever saw other than a disney movie, (In my family that says something), but it had the best animation of a movie that I had ever seen. Any modern day movie, wiether it be live action, computer genorated, or hand drawn, it can never beat this movie. And the music is the best I have ever heard for a movie. I have bought this movie and I recommend it for anyone. This story was adapted from a book so that makes it good already. Definitly something you need to own.

Love Acturally, Actually a Wonderful Movie

This film wins your heart almost immediately. The characters are endearing and allow you to identify with them, and you find yourself cheering for them from the start. There is enough of a thread throughout the plot to tie every thing together. The most winning performances are by Liam Neeson and Hugh Grant. A real feel good movie.

This Director's Cut of Xena Finale Series (Friend's in Need)was great, The Commentary with Lucy, Rob, and Renee talking about the Finale show. I like the ending much better. They sail off together one in sprit, and one in body.

Children of a Lesser God - movie DVD cover picture

I would have to wonder about anyone who gave this movie a bad review, is it lack of empathy, or just understanding?
The acting was superior, and the tale was gripping. Even before I understood the issues personally, the movie was enlightening.
If it had a failure it was in assuming those of us with hearing understood the depth of the issues, and perhaps the play conveyed this more clearly.
One example: I learned to sign both ASL (American Sign Language) & SEE (Signed Exact English) I learned the latter first. SEE was designed by Hearing educators who felt it would help Deaf people learn to read better. It has a sign for each word corresponding to english, including signs for past participles, etc. "Going" is two signs "go" & "ing" In SEE "Are you going to the store?" requires seven signs. In ASL only three are required "You go store" The eyebrows are raised to indicate an interogative, (question) where telling someone (command) the eyes are squinted and covey a sort of forcefulness, (which is why some hearing people assume they are angry) but the same three signs are used. The "ing" is a hearing-designed sign flipping the little finger from the body towards the other person. If you sign for just one hour your eyes are getting tired, especially if you are using three times as many signs, and at that point when someone throws that "ing" at you it feels like they shot you between the eyes with a pellet gun.
ASL is simply a better language than the one designed by hearing educators who feel the deaf are "Children of a Lesser God." Whether it's thinking it's better for the deaf to learn how to speak, or thinking their language should be changed for their benefit, the message is the same, and the moviee did a good job of presenting this.
