Leslie Sansone - Walk Away the Pounds Express - Super Challenge - movie DVD cover picture

First let me say that I thought that I was in good shape. I have good muscle tone but, about 30 pounds to lose to meet my Goal weight of 145 pounds. I have been walking and doing other workout videos (Such as Crunch: Turbo Sculpt) but, when I did this video, I actually had a hard time keeping up!! It was great! I have been searching for a good aerobic workout that wasn't salsa or some other dance. I'm very uncoordinated. I'm lucky I can walk and chew bubble gum without falling!

Let me include some things that other people didn't. When I was looking at the reviews, I wanted to know more about what the video itself included. I didn't realize there was a video that was simply walking in place. It's perfect for my needs as an at home mom of two babies.

Leslie gives great signals when you're going to switch to something new, and she tells you what it is you are switching to. The video does NOT include difficult steps, I thought that was great. This is so easy to follow. The four main steps of the video are side steps; hamstring lifts; front kicks; and knee lifts. You power walking place a lot. This might SOUND very annoying and repetitive but, the time flies by. I was sweating profusely! I couldn't believe it.
noticed other people saying that they didn't like Leslie's voice. I found her to be motivating and very energetic. I am a big Denise Austin fan because of that too. They both want you to GET HEALTHY, and they seem genuine in that.

You don't need any extra equipment. I loved this video because of that. Now, I do recommend you do a strength training video with this one, as it is NOT a strength training workout. You are simply moving to lose FAT. The Crunch: Turbo Sculpt video I am doing is a strength training, muscle building, workout. So, I needed something that would help me get LEAN. I don't want to be a firm 14 I want to be a firm 10! :) I hope my review helps you. I really do love this video and am contemplating getting the three pack of the 1 through 3 mile.

Really, the only "problem" I had with the video was that she said the word "NICE" a lot and her laugh is kind of annoying. But, her words were motivating and helped the video go by FASTER! It was TRULY motivating to find out that one of the ladies was 52 years old and lost 60 pounds!!! I saw tears in her eyes! I was about to cry with her~ Keep moving and never give up on your goal!!!

Kick A** Xena Action

It is about time this extremely popular show was produced on DVD. I almost broke down and bought the VHS, but am very happy I waited for the DVD. Season One arrived shortly before Christmas and my entire family (who weren't huge fans) know all the episodes by heart. I am expecting Season Two any day along with the final episode. The quality of the DVDs I purchased (on the site) are excellent. It also included an additional disk with bios, screensavers, etc and the computer game "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" or "Death In Chains". Season One of Hercules, Legendary Journeys is now available as well.

Before I saw this movie, I was definately anti-Bergman. When I heard his name, I thought only of brooding Sweds playing chess with Death. After I saw "Smiles of a Summer Night", my whole perception of Bergman changed. It is an charming film about love and it calls into question just how well we can judge for ourselves who our best partner is. Now I know why Woody Allen loves Bergman so much.

Beautiful story.

As a guy, I can't say that I would like to watch this movie over and over. (As a brother and son, however, this has already happened!) I can't say that I blame the women in my family, though, because this is a great movie. I would recommend it to anyone, and those guys who hate it but haven't seen it really should watch it. What a bunch of sweet characters! Wonderfully made!!!

Gritty, realistic and authentic. And some fine acting too.

When I rented this DVD I hadn't realized that I had seen it in a theater when it was first released in 1993. I remember that I liked it then. And, guess what? I like it even more now.

Directed by Brian DePalma and adapted from two novels by Edwin Torres, who just happens to be a judge in the New York Supreme Court, the screenwriter, David Keopp, did a wonderful job of bringing this story to the screen. Yes, it's fictional. But it has all the gritty realism of authenticity. And it also has some wonderful actors.

Al Pacino stars as Carlito, a Puerto Rican gangster. When we first meet him, he's just been released from prison because of a technicality. He wants to go straight now. Keep out of trouble. But it seems impossible. He's immediately drawn into to some heavy gunfights when his nephew gets involved in some drug sales. It's bloodshed and murder and a very exciting scene.

Sean Penn is cast as his lawyer. He's a sleazy type. He's flashy, he's obnoxious and he's addicted to cocaine. And Carlito also owes him a favor, a big favor.

Carlito really tries to go straight, and even re-ignites a flame with his old girlfriend. He's working as a manager of a nightclub and saving his money. Supposedly, if he can get together $70,000, he'd be able to move to a Caribbean Island and run a car dealership. That's his dream. And I found myself wishing it would happen.

Naturally there are complications. The mob is involved. And so is the lawyer. And Carlito is drawn into another crime, this one with dire consequences. The ending is inevitable.

The film moved fast, the story was tight and well constructed, and I felt real emotion for Carlito and the hard choices he had to make. The story was set in the 1970s and I loved the soundtrack of all the old music too.

As an added bonus, there was a wonderful special on the DVD about the making of the film. There are interviews with the judge who wrote the novel and he talks about it being based on his own experiences growing up Puerto Rican in New York. We also hear from the screenwriter and the stars themselves. All this really added to my enjoyment of the film.

The quintessential psychological thriller

This movie is a rare treat, and one worth the time to whoever gets the chance to check it out. Hitchcock at his best here, making the most of a story which was originally intended for the stage. The plot is mezmerizing as it unfolds, and the believeablility of the actors' performances are on mark all the way. This is a film I have checked every video store for, and am happy that has made it available. An absolute classic!
