Great Movie

Matt Damon & Ben Affleck have been friends since they were kids and after they both got into the movie business, they decided to write a movie together. The movie they wrote is one of the most original to come along in a while. The movie takes place in Boston and focuses on relationships in the life of Will Hunting (Matt Damon). Will is a janitor at MIT, but he isn't your ordinary janitor. Will is actually a math genius. When a Professor Lambeau (Stellan Stalksgaard) puts an virtual impossible problem on a board in the hallway for his students to work on during the year. Will figures the problem in a matter of days, Lambeau catches him working on it and finds out who he is. Will spends his spare time drinking with his buddies including his best friend Chuckie (Ben Affleck). They get into a brawl on a basketball court and Will gets thrown in jail. He has a prior record and is facing time, but Lambeau offers him a chance out if he works with him on math theories. Will reluctantly agrees, but as part of his probation, he must see a psychiatrist. Lambeau sends him to his college roommate, Sean McGuire (Robin Williams), who teaches at small Bunker Hill College. Will is at first distant and dismisses Sean. He meets a college student, Sklyer (Minnie Driver), in a bar and they start a romance. Eventual Sean starts to break through to Will as they both have alot in common and Sean isn't after Will's genius. Will eventually confronts his demons and the movie ends on an interesting note. All the actors in the film give first rate performances. Mr. Williams gives the performance of his career and he won the 1997 Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Director Gus Van Zant does a great job of capturing the atmosphere of South Boston. Mr. Damon & Mr. Affleck took home the Oscar for best original screenplay. Good Will Hunting is original, funny, heartwarming and a great film.

1st season worste season

Beast wars season one has a feel that it is getting it feet under it. You are not sure if the series wants to be a childrens show or a nostalgic flash back to the generration one charcters. However the series decides not to pander to childer and instead starts to make several incredible decisions about the series.
1. It will be set up for adults. As such characters will die.
2. Moral issues will be faught and sometimes good will do "evil" acts to survive.
3. Every episode will build on each other. Their is an incredible continuity that is started in season one. This continuity is carried all the way into season three.
4. Scale, reality, and believable sci-fi are present in the show. Things happen due to a scientific reason. This may be a fantastical science as we see but they still make the show as hard edged as possible.

All in all a great season.

My favorite anime to date!!

Though not as fancy and new as some other anime, it certainly has a well structured plot (based on Rio Mizuna's work), good characters and character development, as well as a great soundtrack; the animation style and voice work is fantastic also. Truly Record of Lodoss War is the best fantasy anime out there, as compared to the Slayers and others (all respective in their own right). This OVA is a great buy for any anime fan or fan of knights and fantasy.

An Abridged Version That Works

This film is not anything like the 1986 British mini-series. This shorter version is a daring and mostly successful attempt by director Keith Gordon to fuse all the elements of the story into a madcap collection of tough reality and odd hallucinations. Dan Dark (Downey) is a bedridden author severely disabled by the worst case of psoriasis imaginable. He refuses any medication and thereby experiences hallucinations - or reality - or stories for his next book? Director Gordon teases us through out the movie. Downey is exceptional as the acid tongued, highly emotional, screaming patient who has a wisecrack quip for any lowly doctor or nurse that comes his way. He verbally abuses his wife who can barely keep up with attacks, but sometimes shines through when needed. There's a lot of paranoia in this story and the 40's film clips where Dan Dark is the detective investigating some murders is part tongue in cheek and part possible reality. The scenes are chunks of 40's detective clich?s thrown into a series of sentences. It's masterfully amusing. When Downey gets nearly unbearable to watch as the pain stricken patient, the film switches to a hallucinatory dance and signing number driven by Dan Dark's imagination. Sometimes it seems like a diversion and other times it's sheer brilliance. All the actors, Robin Wright Penn, Adrien Brody, Katie Holmes and Mel Gibson (as the nearly unrecognizable psychiatrist) do masterful jobs and Dennis Potter's dialogue is amazingly crisp. It's a good story, albeit sometimes disjointed, but the entire experience is well worth the time.

Robin Williams in great Patch Adams

The always delightful robin williams once again delivers a heartwarming performance in patch adams, a movie based on the actual real life character named Patch Adams who also wrote a novel about his experience. This is a great movie by good director tom shadyac and includes a great cast including williams and philip seymour hoffman as patch's friend mitch.
Williams stars as patch adams a guy who comes to work for a hospital with several patients who are either very ill or whose doctors have done little to improve their condition. adams though, knows that the way to improve their patients is not through medicine but through goodness and happiness. in adams case, he brings laughter and joy using an unusual brand of humor.
In several instances, adams dresses and acts like a clown complete with a red nose. He entertains the dying patients in the hospital with his gentle heart and breathes new life and hope into them.
''You treat a disease, you win or lose, you treat a patient, i'll guarantee you ll win'' that great lines is Adams philosophy toward treating patients.
He sees that one of the main reasons the doctors have failed in improving their patients conditions is because several of the doctors are cold-blooded and unfeeling. The doctors fail to get know their patients intimately and fail most of all to make their patients happy. several of william's colleagues a guy named mitch and a girl name annie are skeptical at first, but after witnessing the improvement in the patients, they see that adams is just what the doctor ordered.
However, not all the people in the hospital is happy with adams. The main boss of the hospital (obviously jealous with adams amazing ability to relate and bring joy the patients) wants adams to quit or be fired from the hospital. i liked this movie very much not only because of williams performance but because of the message. in today's age with greedy HMO's, high medical costs and unfeeling customers service, todays patients don't really get the high quality medical care. Many doctors are rude and impatient with the patients, Nurses fail to get there patients personally and so forth.
Of course not all Doctors and Hospitals are cold-blooded are bad, but it would stupid to say that all of them are good, because they are not. If you turn on the news, there's always a news segment chronicle the bad service of a hospital or doctor, or a lawsuit against both.
So the movie is very fact based. It's actually based on the 1970's real life events of Hunter ''Patch'' Adams (Robin Williams), who founded the Gesundheit Clinic. Williams does his usual great heartwarming , comedic performance that only he can do. This is a very great film. If you work in the medical profession, you'll probably learn alot.
If you're a Williams fan, you'll love it.

The World Is Not Enough - movie DVD cover picture

And you thought Roger Moore was naff. He had all the stiffness of an insurance salesman and about half the charm. James Bond is so unhip I'm surprised he doesn't wheel himself around on a trolley and bite the ankles of his enemy. A very dated figure when you put him up against 'The Matrix'. I use 'The Matrix' as a template for everything despite the fact I don't think it's a terribly good film.Bond shows a novel way of getting around the capitol's dire traffic congestion early on in the proceedings. If our present Mayor has his way then he won't get halfway down the street without stopping to pay a toll in the next one. Then after that he'll be stopped again to check his equity card for authenticity after this debacle. Double O severence pay is in order for this tired series. It's making me embarrassed to be British.

Definitely worth the risk if you haven't seen it before

If you are going what is Wonderfalls and why don't I remember it...there is a good explanation! To sum it all up it is because FOX sux! They produced 13 episodes, aired it on a death slot on Friday night at 9pm and yanked it after 3 (well 4 technically) episodes due to poor ratings. And while FOX technically aired 4 episodes...the 4th aired on a different day than the other 3 with very poor advertising about the change of night. Oh and the night they switched it to was also a death slot - Thursday night at 9pm - during the Apprentice.

The show is really great though. Super quirky and very different. People have compared it to Joan of Arcadia but in my opinnion Wonderfalls is way better (I am a faithful Joan watcher as well). If you don't trust the other great reviews on here try sites like or just google wonderfalls and you will see how loved it is.
