Great Hitchcock Movie!

Always beautiful Ingrid Bergman is great as a psychiatrist looking into "wooden" Gregory Peck's mind. Many disagree, but I think Bergman pulls off this role quite well. Peck is a little too stiff for me and detracts from the movie. The DVD offers a clear picture and good sound.

One of the best of 2004

Every once in a while you will sit down to waste two hours by watching some random movie and instead of having your corn popped by the equivalent of cinematic bubble gum, you are treated to something very special, a film experience unlike any you have ever had, a movie that totally surprises you with its quality and depth. I must say that I had this experience while watching Brad Bird's The Incredibles. I don't have enough space here to write of the endless ingenuity, original perspectives, and overall cleverness that pervade this film. In essence, it is something of a parody of the world of superheroes, and yet it is a parody that somehow seems more indicative of normal human experience than any of those other "real" superhero movies do. Like Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films, the heroes here are superhuman, but they are not unhuman. If anything, the fact that they have superpowers only enhances the difficulty they have as they try to make it through life. Part of the brilliance is that this is done in a family context. When you see Mrs. Incredible (aka Elastigirl) trying to wrangle her kids around the dinner table with arms that can stretch to ridiculous lengths, you understand that it is a metaphor for what a real mother has to do every day. The Incredibles is inventive, exciting, funny, and very poignant. I anxiously await the sequel, which, given the success of this one, is surely to be made.

Rurouni Kenshin OVA

The first disc did a great job of getting you into the story with fight scenes and intrigue yet the second disc brought me only more into the series with great storytelling and a dramatic finish. The second disc only made me want to watch the two together again. I watched both of them through a few times before I was satisfied that I had noticed every little detail of this great story.
Although I enjoyed this second part of the series very much it might be a little slow for some viewers who are expecting a bloodbath like the first disc. I enjoyed the fight scenes in this second disc even more because they were done more thoroughly than those on the first disc. I would reccomend this for anyone, just don't be suprised that there are not as much blood.

MOST UNINTENTIONALLY FUNNY MOVIE EVER

That's not a declaration I would make lightly, but this is IT! The most highly scoring movie on the unintentional comedy scale, EVER. The shower scene, the horse scene, and countless others, just gold. I might have to buy this movie. Everyone should at least rent it.

Great Value

"Carrie" is definitely one of the best DVDs I own in terms of value. Rarely do you find a DVD at this price with great extras, picture, and sound, but "Carrie" definitely succeeds in this department.
The film is both entertaining and disturbing. Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie received well-deserved Oscar nominations for their excellent performances. Brian De Palma achieves excellent direction en route to one of the most memorable climaxes in cinema history. The score compliments the film well, although some of the 70's music is rather cheesy at times. Overall, a great, entertaining movie on a great DVD.

the good one

When I saw the first one I thaught thats a good movie. upon seeing this one i thought it was kind of sillythe fact that he said "guyver" before transforming(keep in mind that i'v never seen the cartoon, which i'm trying to get)but when I realized that the second one was almost exactly like the one comic of the series that I have.I reccomend screw the first one,who wants to see Mark Hamil turn into a giant cockroach anyway(that is the ONLY part of the movie that remotely makes sence),and buy this one. and is any film companys are reading these reviews me and about 3000 other fans are waiting for the third one.

Great job on a classic anime!

If you like the classic anime then this IS the DVD to get. Well...after you've bought the first 6 individual discs. This box set starts off where those ended. More great Gatchaman Madness.
One reviewer was pissed that the box set didn't include the first 6 discs. Not sure what sense that would make since they are already out! This is an old show so the sound was orginally Dolby Stereo (2 channel) and the video does show the age. But this is no worse than the other TV shows I have from the time. It's much better still than any VHS I have ever seen plus it's complete. If you are used to the new style it might put you off. Personally I love the classic series, especially Gatchaman, and the old style doesn't bother me.
And you do not just get Battle of the Planets version but also the Gatchaman & G-Force. ALL THREE SERIES!!!! I can't understand how anyone can complain. Definitely one of the few classic series done right the first time.

Good price for a great product!

I was using a private tutor twice a week to help me with my math homework but it got too expensive. This DVD is doing a good job of being my 'home tutor'! Recommended!

Simply Amazing

Mel Gibson spiked up another great mix of "Brave Heart" and "Gladiator" in this flict. "The Patriot" is not just another movie to fit in the occation of the 4th of July; it explained why they fought and found a nation. There was a lot of violent but this is another war drama, and war always not pretty and glory like Hollywood depicted in the past. This time, we got to see the brutality that the British inflicted upon the civilians inorder to oppressed the colonist. This is the story of a man, who took care of his children and forced to bear arms and defend his family and later a cause that his love ones belived in.
