Good videos by the top synth band!

I wasn't quite impressed with the plot of the videos. Some don't even relate to the song. I thought that "Enjoy the silence was going to be a bit more dark- or gothic - but we have Gahan walking around dressed as a King with a chair. Senseless! But some videos do give you 80's nostalgia - the 80's with a youthful band- which is now aged and somewhat tired. The packaging's art fits well, since it looks like the cover of "Black Celebration".The menus are easy to browse and select. The songs are perfect for a DVD project of this magnitude. All are hits and stories by themselves - it is the soundtrack (videos) of our lives. I'm most fond of the songs included here from "Violator". It is one of the best electronic albums of all times. By taking something from each production, the DVD flows and provides a glimpse of the band's evolution. Should not be taken for granted.......get it!

Story about NOT meeting

Gwen and Nick spend their whole lives just missing eachother.

They bump into each other (literally) when they were about 6 years old and over the next 20 years they just miss meeting eachother. There are so many times that they might of seen each other if only that by the time that they actually do meet each other going for a cigarette at a meeting for people to try to stop smoking that you want to say "finally."

All in all though it is a very good movie and Dylan McDermott and Jeanne Tripplehorn are both excellent as the older Nick and Gwen and Sarah Jessica Parker is also very good as Nicks girlfriend Francesca a washed up former television star whom everybody thinks is dead.

Another brilliant movie from an incredible director/writer

From the same brilliant mind of the writer who gave us "Beetle Juice" and who would later give birth to "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and the director of "Big Fish", came "Edward Scissorhands". Unforgivable as it is, until yesterday I had not had the honor of watching this jewel in its entirety. Now, I can say with confidence Tim Burton has my respect and admiration and is definitely my favorite storyteller.

Edward Scissorhands, in retrospective, brings to the forefront some elements that modern society and us as humans are so full of. A rejection towards new things and different-looking people, while we claim to be so open-minded. Our inevitable doom to hurt even those whom we love the most, while we are afraid or under (perhaps) too much pressure or anguish. But most of all, the natural ability to love innocently that resides in the heart of us all, if we let it flow and don't suppress it with loads of artificial fluff that only fill but don't fulfill.

Edward Scissorhands is, quite simply, a classic that will stand the test of time, as it has so far. Fifteen years after its making (at the time of this writing), it is as fresh and packed with lessons as it was back in 1990.

A hilarious spoof of "Lethal Weapon"

Emilio Estevez and Samuel L. Jackson are the Mel Gibson and Danny Glover of this film. There are spoof scenes from the Lethal Weapon trilogy and one from WAYNE'S WORLD. This filn was dircted by Gene Quintano who previously directed 1986's POLICE ACADEMY 3-Back In Training. This film reunites Quintano with Lance Kinsey. Kinsey was Lieutenant Proctor in many of the Police Academy sequels. Many people who have seen this film also saw THE BREAKFAST CLUB,THE MIGHTY DUCKS films,STAKEOUT,ANOTHER STAKEOUT(Estevez's other films),and PULP FICTION,one of Jackson's later films. Also many people who have seen this film also saw movies that Estevez's brother Charlie Sheen starred in.

Almost great

Criterion has just announced that their long-discontinued DVD versions of Jacque Tati films will be put back in print in 2004. They released a statement that reads, "At long last Criterion has succeeded in renewing its rights to Jacques Tati's classic films Mon Oncle, M. Hulot's Holiday, Jour de F?te and Playtime. The original Criterion editions of Mon Oncle and M. Hulot's Holiday will be back in print starting in January of 2004. These DVDs will be identical to Criterion's original releases in every way. Watch [ Criterion's web site ] for further news about Playtime and Jour de F?te."
Hence, to those who are planning to buy these DVDs, avoid buying those highly-priced used discs from other sellers.
(For those who are interested in the film, please refer to my April 19, 2001 review.)

Ewan McGregor's first major role is a definite winner!

I'm a major Ewan McGregor fan, and that's how I first came to see this movie. It's the first of three movie he would make with the now-famous Scottish film makers Danny Boyle, John Hodge, and Andrew MacDonald. This is the best out of the three in my point of view. It's about three flatmates who finally find a fourth. But when he ends up dead, and the three break into his room only to find a bag of money. First they must dispose of the body, second they must decide how to use the money. But the effects of money on three good friends comes to suspenseful and tragic ends. This is a phenomenal movie even if you don't like suspense (I don't). It's also great for anyone who wants to see Ewan McGregor with long hair that is dripping with sweat. This is a wonderful psychological thriller for even the very squeamish.

Marc Singer gives a sparkle to the play

This is a commedy about a two unmarried daughters of a wealthy Italian merchant, and while there are many suitors interested in courting the younger, docile daughter, the father insists that the older one has to marry first. The problem is she is hot-tempered, both unwilling to marry and obnoxious to anyone who even makes an attempt to court her. The situation seems hopeless, until the right man shows up on the scene (played by Marc Singer) with a perfect strategy and here the fun really begins.

The setting and the costumes are intended to replicate to a certain extent commedia dell'arte and everyone is dressed in some form of white costume with red accents - except for delightful Marc Singer, naked to the waist, in tights ... together with all the verbal and behavioral persuasion used to tame a shrew, the way he looks helps, too, to make his task easier (he has half of the job done just showing up half-naked).
The entire persuasion strategy is exquisitely calculated - whatever he does is done only to the point of obtaining a desired effect, never losing control of the situation or of his objective - and throughout the entire process he comes through as a loving husband who only has his wife's best interests at heart.

Loving Sex - Sex Around the House - movie DVD cover picture

Sex Around the House is best unwrapped! This excursion into household adventures is elegantly created to ease you into a mode of perpetual play. With the assistance of Dr. Ava Cadell, cited as one of America's leading sexologists by Cosmopolitan magazine, the author of four books and an award winning website - [URL], Julie Ashton introduces us to Dr. Cadell and her latest book, Love Around the House and commences by observing that Love Around the House is about more than just the couch rather than the bed. Apparently so, as Dr. Cadell mentions that there are many common household items that couples can use as sex toys to spice up their love life. Dr. Cadell feels that anything you use for foreplay or sex is a sex toy. This is like a prelude, an introduction. For example, in the bathroom, you have the hairdryer for drying your lover from head to toe. In the office there is the ruler, maybe a little spanking? This is all about going room-to-room, finding as many objects as you can and having the most fun you possibly can! After a brief interval of street chats with Dr. Ava Cadell and people's responses to what they would do with different household objects Julie Ashton's insightful Sexuality Report ends with an invitation extended to Dr. Cadell to attend an upcoming reunion of couples at Julie's house. So the stage is set with Julie and her beau in the kitchen as they are preparing for the presentation. Forays into the nude food zone soon evolve to the inevitable outcome of `find the honey spots on my naked body while blindfolded'. One can easily imagine the rhapsodic conclusion of this search mission. At the appropriately inappropriate moment there is a knock at the door, announcing Dr. Ava Cadell's arrival followed by two young, attractive couples. Everyone gathers in the living room and Dr. Cadell discusses the options the different rooms of the house hold offer and distributes to each couple a copy of her book, Love Around the House, some `toys': a feather duster, a ruler, a toothbrush, an electric toothbrush, a pasta spoon and others. There's lots of questions, laughter, and careful suggestions like; have a separate set of household items that are for play specifically. Dr. Cadell concludes with a smile as the three attractive couples begin playing with the toys and laughing. What follows are numerous scenes that ecstatically express the possibilities of play. We start in the laundry room with clothes literally being ripped off each other's bodies. The evolution of seduction is genuine and passionate. Next we discover the blonde female in the living room on the cordless phone having phone sex with her man. A flowing piano music duet with a flute carries one into the romance zone. The fireplace and the twinkling lights of the city at night are brought into play enhancing the mood overall. Other household explorations like cleaning the closet have never been so much fun! Even the home office concept is utilized in various ways, as is the gym and working out notion. Surprisingly this video has a somewhat social quality to it that contributes to the realistic development of each scene. There's much to delight in with Sex Around the House as it takes you on a tour through your home in rousing way opening your eyes to the possibilities of play!
