Non stop rollercoaster ride

I found this movie to be a realistic portrayal of the dramatic realities of babysitting. Liz Shue was a prodigy actress in her youth and played the role of Chris Parker as if she was really babysitting on film. They really take you to another realm in this one. Hop onboard for a thrilling rollercoaster ride! There will be hilarious scenes that have you falling off your seat, and others where you're holding your breath or ripping out your hair in anticipation!

Romance can be complicated

"Shake It All About" (orginally titled "en kort en lang" in Danish) is a romantic comedy reflecting the blending of the lines between straight and gay today. When Jacob proposes marriage to his boyfriend of many years, J?rgen, he truly does want to marry him. However, things get complicated when Jacob falls in love with Caroline, who is married to J?rgen's brother. To make things even more complicated, Caroline becomes pregnant with Jacob's child.
Jacob still loves J?gren and he loves Caroline - who will he choose. Who does Jacob want? And if it's J?rgen, will J?rgen take him back?
Well worth buying. You'll love it for the story, you'll also love it for the soundtrack.

The Dark Times

Set 10 years after THE PHANTOM MENACE, Lucas again throws us into a mix that includes speeder chases, clone armies, and death arenas. Yes, it's EPISODE II!
The Republic is divided. Due to corruption in the Senate, many star-systems have left. Led by former Jedi Count Dooku, this Separatist movement has made it uneasy for the Jedi Knights to keep the peace.
Palpatine, the new President of the Republic, proposed creating an army, to aid the Jedi, but many Senators, including Padme Amidala of Naboo, opposed such laws. Upon arrival on Coruscant - the film's opening scene - she was set to vote against this law when death threats against her life were made.
After she met with Palpatine and Yoda, the decision was made for Jedi Anakin Skywalker to escort Amidala back to Naboo to hide while Skywalker's master, Obi-Wan Kenobi was to track down Padme's assassin(s). Little does Yoda know that the Sith are still in action.
If you'd like to know what happens to Anakin, Padme, Kenobi, the Senate, the Jedi, and the rest of the story, you'd just have to watch the film.

Once Bitten - movie DVD cover picture
Hey, it's the white guy from "In Living Color"!!

Brief plot synopsis: A female vampire needs the blood of a virgin to stay young; she finds Mark Kendall(Jim Carrey); hijinx ensue.
I first saw this when it came on tv; at the time Jim Carrey was either a nobody or "that white guy from "In Living Color" (btw why ...isn't that on dvd yet?). Shortly after I saw this JC started getting big with movies such as "The Mask" and "Ace Ventura". With those films in mind "Once Bitten" is somewhat of a novelty. Even though it is billed as a comedy, JC's character is a far cry from the rubberfaced madman we see in the aforementioned comedies. This is the Jim Carrey we saw in "The Truman show" the man who can play a character that we just like; someone accessible enough that we could know the guy or someone like him. JC's acting is brilliant here, I do enjoy JC's other work but it's refreshing to see him in a role like this. If you're a JC diehard it's a must buy, If you're not a diehard, there's still a good chance it will be a welcome addition to your movie collection. ...

Very intelligent

Very intelligent track order as well as selection (you get all the jewels with one exception of Us and Them). Very intelligent, relaxed filming that allows you to feel like you are there rather than watching another fast-cuts nonsense. Very intelligent stage decor.Your perfect gig. Roger Waters.

I really enjoyed this film!

I first heard about this film quite a while ago, and have wanted to see it for a very long time. I am a very big fan of Soleil Moon Frye, and she is the main reason I wanted to see it. When I saw that it was released on DVD I was extremely happy.

From the moment the film started, I was drawn in, and I stayed drawn in until the end. Casey's (Soleil Moon Frye) opening and ending monologue was great, and an awesome way to open and end the movie. The ending is very good, and it leaves you feeling complete. The movie is really about two college roomates who are very different. It is about one of them wanting revenge on the other. The movie is very real, and that, to me, is very refreshing.

The only problem I had with the film was the editing. It is very choppy, and isn't put together all that well, but it isn't a big problem. I only thought about it during a few scenes.

The two main characters are compelling. I have to say that Soleil gives the best performance in the film. The other lead, Cat Taber (who plays Grace), was good, but it felt like her performance was missing something. The other actors were all great as well (Notably Wil Wheaton as Grace's fiance, and Gary Wolf as Casey's friend).

The DVD has no extras at all, though. It only has the film and scene selections (a total of 8 chapters), and if you leave it on the main menu for too long, the movie starts by itself. The lack of extras doesn't bother me, though. It took the film long enough to get released.

While this movie isn't for everyone, I loved it, and will watch it more than once. The DVD doesn't seem to be a big release, so you may have a hard time finding a rental, but it is well worth the purchase price here! If you are a fan of one of the actors, this is a must have DVD!

In closing, I would like to say "How nice, How very, very nice!"

Pollack and Redford Combine

Sydney Pollack and Robert Redford combine their talents for this impressive suspense film. Robert Redford plays a reader for the CIA and gets lucky one day. He then has to piece together a rather complicated puzzle. This movie unravels its secrets slowly and surely, leaving the audience stuck within it's web. Other movies nowadays like to spring it all on quick and thick, not so with this film. It piles twist upon twist, and the plot doesn't seem contrived or pre-destined to get to the big revelation, common in most suspense films. It flows wonderously and smoothly. The characters are believable and real, not caricatures or superhuman action heroes. It remains a favorite of mine after watching it years ago, and that is a testament to its staying power. A truly impressive film.
