Chair-E Point. Cherry Point.....What about the Ball?

I love this movie. It's a classic. Fine, it didn't walk away with any awards but it's hilarious. Melio is the scene stealer however along with the mexican who didn't utter a single word. The scene in the restaurant when Harold is trying to get the waitress' attention is a classic. MISS!!!?!! [Heck} the entire movie is a classic. I got this movie for Christmas & you can't imagine how it made my entire year! This is definitely a must have!! Go Fagabeefy!!

Still the best

Okay. Firefly, being on the air less than one season, has a DVD set which is apparently selling like hotcakes. So where is Millennium (rant about FOX and my favorite Friday night shows always being cancelled - deleted :-) )? This is the one DVD set I would buy in a heartbeat - well, maybe I'd wait a while for season three... but for seasons one and two, I would pre-order as soon as that option was available! "Anamnesis," from season two, is my favorite episode. I still go back and watch Millennium episodes when reality TV is filling all the boxes on my TV guide. My tapes are getting warped. I need it on DVD!
As for actual review stuff - this was an amazingly good show. Lance Henrickson did a wonderful job, as did Meghan Gallagher, Terry O'Quinn, and Kristen Cloke (hope I spelled those right). Brittany Tiplady was absolutely adorable as Jordan. Unfortunately, I feel that they really dropped the ball in the third season, going from a "Knights Templar/Priory of Sion/Holy Blood, Holy Grail" kind of theme to a more "normal" FBI theme. I missed Seattle. I missed Peter Watts. I missed Catherine and Lara. I missed the Millennium aspect of Millennium. And then we were cheated of even having the show AT the Millennium - true, CC had a crossover to X-Files for that episode, but I would love to know what would have happened if the directors from season 2 had stayed with the show for season three, and then we had gotten a fourth season. Sigh.
On a side note, I rented the movie "The Invitation" simply because it starred LH. Not a bad movie. He made it definitely worth the rental price.
Here's hoping the review which said that it would be out this year is right...

Gilmore Girls

I have to admit that I'm as macho as the next guy. I like action movies, sci-fi and comedy. When I first heard of Gilmore Girls I just wrote it off as another show that I would skip. That is until I actually saw an episode. That one episode opened my eyes and forced me to expand my definition of quality television. I have never encounted a show whose dialogue was so SHARP and yet managed to stay so close to how real people would react. The charecters, both main and in the background, are memorable and unique. And I will say to anyone who asks, whoever made the decision to cast the parts of Rory and Lorilei were absolutely brilliant. The chemistry between the two just takes your breath away. It blows my mind that I have to keep reminding myself that they are not mother and daughter in real life. I think what ultimately draws me as a viewer is that way it perfectly mixes sharp dialogue, drama, humor, and most of all the way it shows not just whats going on on the surface of a person but underneath as well. I still proudly call myself a guy. Its just that now guys who are into quality television have Gilmore Girls to add to their list as well

Excellent movie!

Anyone who has ever worked in a corporate setting can relate to this movie. It gives a funny glimpse into what REALLY goes on in an office..from the point of view of the "worker bees" (aka peons). This is one of my favorite movies!

Trigun - Puppet Master (Vol. 7) - movie DVD cover picture
Nearing the End...

Well, sadly Trigun's almost over. After this volume is the final one with the remaining four episodes, which make this volume look like nothing. But this volume is full of great scenes and drama. It's not as *funny* (although Vash manages to get a few scenes in) as the previous volumes, almost the polar opposite of volume one. The transition started at episode 12, "Diablo" from comedy to drama is complete and everything's spiraling down...
This volume contains three episodes, "Flying Ship", "Out of Time" and the aptly titled "Alternative". Wolfwood follows Vash to a Project SEEDS ship that failed to crash. Of course, the Gung-Ho-Guns follow as well; heartbreak ensues. Meryl and Milly play a much bigger part in the third episode. In "Alternative", the four befriend a group of orphan children living in the desert. But things aren't always what they seem. The volume ends with a moral argument of Vash's idealism versus realism. Wolfwood hits rock bottom mentally.
The character interaction is what sets this series apart from others, and is really the focus of this volume.
Well, 24 days 'til volume eight! ^_^

SUPURB ACTING

HURLYBURLY WAS AN EXTREMLY ENTERTAINING FILM, AND I DO USE THE WORD FILM. IT SUPPLIED ACTING AT IT'S BEST. SEAN PENN WAS AMAZING AND MOVING, AND KEVIN SPACEY WAS EXCELLENT. WHAT EVER YOU DO, DON'T GO IN EXPECTING A TYPICAL ALL-STAR CAST FILM,WHICH USUALLY MEANS THE MOVIE RUNS ON THE FACT OF THE ACTOR'S NAMES AND NOT THE CONTENT. GO INTO THIS FILM WITH THE IDEA OF EXPECTING GREAT ACTING, AND TWO OF OUR OUTSTANDING ACTORS AT THEIR BEST. P.S. CHAZZ PALMINTERI, ROBIN WRIGHT PENN, MEG RYAN, AND GARY SHANDLING ALL GIVE ABOVE THEIR NORMAL CALIBER OF ACTING. AS I SAID BEFOR 5 STARS.

The Devil Rides Out - movie DVD cover picture
A superb film of a battle of good against extreme evil!

Hammer, known for making its B-movies look like A-Movies, releases another triumph. The movie based on Wheatley's novel, which I have not read, but am looking for, is just superb. Though some of the special effects are campy, due, of course, to the low budget of the movie, they still pull off an eerie effect for this ultimate clash between good and evil. James Bernard, once again, creates an excellent score for this fine supernatural chiller. This is a must-have for Hammer Horror fans! The casting is wonderful, though I would like to see it with Cushing in place of Lee as the Duc de Richleau, and Lee in place of Gray as Mocata. Just wonderful. If you are tired of seeing the darkside win in new horror films that leave you feeling depressed, then see this. In Hammer, good always triumphs over evil!
