Flawless film noir, touching and nasty

This movie is a miracle of intertwining, seemingly contradictory tones. It manages to be a down-and-dirty murder story, filled with lust and betrayal, and also a story of genuine friendship between two male co-workers who can look past each other's flaws until murder is involved.

Best comic book movie of 2004

The Punisher is hands down the best comic book movie of the year. Spider-Man 2 was overblown and careened off course too many times...and I won't even touch Catwoman.

Anyway, The Punisher was probably the most overexposed comic book character when I was growing up, riding the tide of the violent-comic craze of the late 80's/early 90's. At one point, I think he had 5 monthly titles (Punisher, War Journal, War Zone, Original Punisher, 2099), plus popped up in every other title at least once a year. Fortunately, Joe Quesada, Garth Ennis, Steve Dillon, and Tim Bradstreet came in to save the day a few years back, and Frank Castle is better than ever. While I really enjoyed this film in the theater, the DVD release is second-to-none, as far as comic releases go. Not only do you get the excellent film and the usual "behind-the-scenes" stuff, but - get this - interviews with REAL COMIC CREATORS. What a shock, huh? Plus, a nifty little comic book inside the case. I hope Marvel wakes up and has more input to put together packages like this for other releases. Remember, these characters came from comics...and if they're so concerned about selling more books as a result of the movie, throw a comic in there with the disc. Kudos to whoever came up with the BRILLIANT notion of keeping this flick close (enough) to the comic to keep fans happy, and thrill movie-goers.

Oh...the movie gets minus 0.25 of a star for the fact that John Travolta is in it...but I'm in a good mood, so we'll just say 5.

Brilliant exploration of art and love

This film is fantastic, and I only pray that they release it on DVD some time soon! Forget all of the "lesbian romance" clips you may see about this -- it's about love, the nature of true art, and one woman's exploration of herself and her world. This film is great for anyone who looks at contemporary art and says "but I don't GET it..." It's PERFECT for those of us who look at contemporary art and say "I don't get it, but I LIKE it." If you've ever flown in your dreams; or daydreamed while working, you'll love this sweet, tender film. See it TODAY if you can possibly find it at your local video store!

The Clones Are Attacking!

This movie get a solid 4 out of 5 stars.Star Wars E2 followsthe break down of the Republic & the beging of Ankins trip toward the dark side. From the beging Ankin is shown as a conflicting padwan- Who clams too be held back by his master Obi-Wan.They are giving the task too gaurd Senator Padmee. The job falls soully too Ankin when an assain escapes. The two begin too fall in love and atthe end marry.Ankins journey too the dark side is quicken when horrible nightmares send him too rescue his mother.he arrives too late too save her but not too late too slaughter sandpeople(this is not shown-darn).Although you knowwhat happened bye Ankins discribtion that is one of many scenes fromthe book that may have worked good if it was put in(the book is better).notes:Lucas focus on poltics and tring for a love storie simlar in away toothe one in Empire.brings this movie down a bit.A little more action whould of been nice .Not much of Jar-Jar is a good thing.Yodas duel is that suppose too be comical? Finally I hope the third and final one fills in the many gaps still not covered from here.Welp if nothing else we still have the books.

Callum's best

This movie is an absolute MUST for Callum Keith Rennie fans; he shines in his role as a reluctant returning member of the Canadian punk band Hard Core Logo for their reunion tour. This movie has been described as a dark, realist Spinal Tap, and was billed as a black comedy. While the movie has its funny, often hilarious moments, it actually concentrates on the real, human emotions driving each character. This is a character-driven movie, rather than a plot- or action-driven movie, and shows a great deal of insight about the internal politics of friendship. Though the performance scenes are also very cool.

The Best Movie I Have Seen In My 14 Years On This Earth!

I couldn't tell you a part in this movie when I WASN'T crying. Mandy Moore and Shane West play the parts so well, that it doesn't seem like they are acting at all. The story is soooo beautiful, and this is definitely NOT another teen movie. Not even close. Actually, after reading the book, I didn't think it would be half as good as it was. If you haven't seen this movie, you NEED to. For Mandy's leading role debut, she certainly played the part well. I don't think anyone could have been a better actor for Landon than Shane West. Nor Jamie than Mandy. The casting was great, and the soundtrack creates the perfect mood for the movie. Like I said, if you haven't seen this movie, you need to, because it is GREAT!

It Blew Me Away

I thought this movie was well worth the money to go buy. Just when you think you know what will happen...You get blown away at how wrong you were! It is, truley, one of the most suspensful movies I have ever seen. There is not a word I can say to put down this movie, because it speaks for itself when it screams, "GREAT!" It had a well thought out plot, many great twists, and a FANTASTIC ending of which you could have never guessed! I would rate it six stars if possible, but i can't so I rate it 5 without a doubt!!!
