Marillion - EMI Singles Collection - movie DVD cover picture

This collection updates the existing VHS edition of the videos collection, but as the title clearly states, it includes only the EMI singles, thus, videos for songs released while on other labels are missing.
It's in chronological order (although you can see them in random order), including 11 videos from Fish's era (Market Square heroes, He knows you know, Garden party, Assassing, Kayleigh, Lavender, Lady Nina, Heart of Lothian, Incommunicado, Sugar mice and Warm wet circles). These videos were made with very low budgets way back in the mid 80's, so their quality is not that great, but that's not really a problem.
As for the h videos, there are 12 of them (Hooks in you, Uninvited guest, Easter, Cover my eyes, No one can, Dry land, Sympathy, Hollow man, Alone again in the lap of luxury, The great escape, Beautiful) including one that's *hidden* (Deserve). These are better produced videos. Notice that the three videos for the 'Brave' songs seem quite similar, this is because they're all based on a single story (it is, after all, a concept album) and a film.
The music is excellent, as one would expect from the lads, but it's also great fun to see them change through time -- anyone remembers Fish and Mark Kelly when they had hair? Or Steve Rothery when he was thin?
My only complaint is that when you play the videos in random order, there's no way to skip or fast forward the songs...but anyways, who'd want to!

I could eat a peach for hours

This is the kind of role meant for John Travolta, not the kind he plays in moves such as civil action.Cage and Travolta both give in my opinion the finest performances of their careers.Full of intense action, superb acting, surprise twists, and damn fully one-liners, this is one movie well worth watching. Well worth buying as the replay value is high.

Some Reviwers Miss So Much

For the record (are you listening, Mark Abbott?), in this film Diana Rigg's character is NOT a Spanish countess - her father is Corsican and her mother English, she was educated in England, and she married a count who was Italian or Sicilian or Corsican. You would think someone who actually saw this movie might have been bothered to pay attention. Criticism based on false foundations is just sloppy and stupid - and not worth your time to listen to.

Whatever it Takes Review

I would recommend this movie despite the abrupt ending. It is humourous. I think that the best character is Floyd (Aaron Sturtevant, Aka. Aaron Paul) because he adds the humour and fun to the movie to set it apart from from any generic, romantic Teen flick.

Enjoyment for everyone

I got this DVD because it was cheap, and long. I have to say it was not what I exspected after 30 min. I loved it. It is a light hearted enjoyable Fantasy-Adventure-Comedy for the whole family. My friends and I watched an hour a night, and we all loved it. The only guy I see who didn't love it is the idiot who thought it wasn't realistic enough for his taste and gave it one star. Everyone else gave it five. P.S. I know its a long shot, but I hope for a sequel.

Good movie

Showgirls is really good. Don't watch it thinking about what you have read about it, go into it with an open mind. The dvd includes the making of. Showgirls is not a comedy. If you buy this get the NC-17 version.I ordered the dvd, and am waiting for it to get here. I mailed the check yesterday. I have already seen the film, though.

Give it a chance!

Everyone is giving this one star reviews simply because these are colorized? I could understand if you could no longer see the black and white versions, but the color versions are OPTIONAL! You can check it out, and if it doesn't look good, watch the black and white version! And by the way, the five stars I'm putting up is for the collection of shorts, all four which I have on video and have watched tons of times for years. To see them in color, while not better than the filmed black and white, is interesting to see from a filmmaking point of view and to see them in a way never seen before unless you were actually on the set of filming! And I am a film purist in that I feel that a film should be presented with the originally intended color or black and white picture, original aspect ratio, and original mono or stereo mix. However, I'm always up to try a black and white film colorized and a mono film given a 5.1 surround track... as long as I can still watch and listen to the film the way it was originally meant to be presented... and that is the case here with Columbia. They're giving people a choice to watch some of the best Curly shorts in their original black and white or the new colorized editions. Give it a chance people!

I've got to add this to my collection!

I rented this DVD just to try it out and now it must become part of my fitness DVD collection. It is very fun and the time flies by. It is 45 minutes long, yet it seems faster than some of the 30 minute workouts I own.

Calorie Killer is led by Nancy Tucker. Nancy is not the most personable instructor at first, but she really grew on me. The best thing about this cardio workout is the variety. You will not get bored because she combines low-impact aerobics, step aerobics, and even sports drills. This workout uses the firm fanny lifter and sculpting stick. If you have a step of any sort and a broomstick or body bar, you could substitute those.

I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser and so I completed the workout but I was definitely drenched in sweat and "asassinated some calories", as Nancy puts it! A beginner would want to take it slowly, but there is an instructor who demonstrates beginner modifications, so I wouldn't say a beginner shouldn't buy this.
