Extremely well done.

Normally, anything that "Disney" is attached to is a major turn off for an anime fan like me, but this movie is after all, an anime, so I gave it a shot... and I was not disappointed, Infact, I was impressed. The English Voice Actors did an excellent job with this movie, it was extremely well dubbed, there were a few minor changes to the script, but it didn't hurt the story at all. Disney was even nice enough to release a subtitled version of the movie as well, so you subbies and anime purists need not fear either version. The animation of this movie was extremely well done, although the plot did focus more on character development than on the building of a massive story, but the story in general was very nice. Kiki's Delivery Service is a good anime for all audiences, as it's one of the "cute" animes, but this is far superior to that Pokemon vermin that parents and us Otakus are hating with a vengence or it's two dopplegangers on Fox Kids. If your looking for a nice, relaxing anime thats suitable for the whole family, then this one is definetly worth checking out. If your going to get into anime, this is the movie I'd rather today's children be introduced to anime thought Kiki's than Pokemon.

Great movie!

This movie is wonderful. It has a message about the screwed up society we live in that turns killers into stars, has blood and interesting charitor interaction. Great acting. And also it has a great soundtrack to match.

Not just a wrestling movie, a landmark film.

This is a funny movie, including David Arquette, Oliver Platt, and Scott Caan, they make a good team, and I like the part where Scott Caan just had it with this woman. I give it 5 stars, because this isn't just a wrestling movie, it's a landmark film!

Camp and Melancholy and The Best Score Ever

There is something decidedly sad about this film. Despite all the trappings of gross, gore and camp humour (so many wonderfully daft quotable lines) the film runs a bittersweet line about class and sexual mores that underplays everything. Okay, the politics may lean a little towards being non-sympathetic to the left, but who can deny the sadness of a scene where Dellasandro, the socialist hunk of the film, sneers over a vomiting and weak Count? Especially when the scenes are accompanied by that beautiful theme from Claudio Gizzi? Indeed, the opening credits, with Kier applying black dye to his peroxide white hair and blood red to his lips as the camera languidly pans around to show no reflection - are one of the most wonderful I can think of. The theme is played in full here, modulating upwards, lilting, slightly hopeful, slightly doomed. Terrific. "Blod for Dracula' is not for everyone, sure, but nonetheless it remains a strange, 'silly and yet' kind of film.

Ribisi, Diesel: Grunts who earn an Officer's Rank

The Boiler Room is a fast-paced, well written and well acted movie. The performances by Ribisi and Diesel were excellent. I didn't think they had it in them. The firm of J T Marlin shows you that nothing ever comes easy. I love how Ribisi narrates in the beginning and states how the secretaries and groundskeepers of MiscroSoft became millionaires. They took stock options instead of Christmas bonuses. I loved it when they recited the dialogue of the film Wall Street with Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen. I laughed out loud. It was good to see Thomas Everett Scott again. Ben Affleck also showed range and Nicky Katt was really good also. Nia Long added a nice flair. This is a must see. I should have seen it at the theater but I just can't get to them all.

Color Controversy

I compared a VHS version and DVD version to check the Grinch's "color problem" discribed by some reviewers of this DVD. True, the Grinch is not bright green on the DVD, but I don't think he is supposed to be. I did not see any difference between the VHS and DVD versions of his color, and did not think his color looked wrong at all.

A Must-Have Video for any Warship Fan

A great movie. About as "salty" as they come. Tremendous scenes of life aboard an English Man-O-War coupled with the history of the period. From the Mutiny at Spithead to a stunning portrail of the status of the Ship's Captain, this movie covers it all. You'll watch it again and again.

This is the movie that made Slim Pickens Famous!

I used to be his neighbor up near Columbia, CA, and he was a customer in my store as well. More than once he reflected on this fateful movie that he did after several westerns. On those movies he was "Hey You!", after after Dr. Strangelove, he said that he became "Mr. Pickens" with a dressing room of his own. Interesting twist of fate. I met him right about the time he was in Blazing Saddles, another "classic", as this one is.....

Simple plots often say more...

This movie seems to want to be very artsy and intellectual, but really isn't. Ione Skye's (Frankie)character is frankly unlikeable, she is a self involved bore who seems to be living on another planet from the rest of her friends. Mackenzie Austin (David) is likeable enough, and for a while displays some strength of character by sticking with his girlfriend, but of course by the end of the movie he falls for Frankie, though god knows why, as she does not show a single redeeming character trait in the whole movie. You could just picture them 5 years later, and her heading for the door because "the passion is gone".The only really likeable character was played by Jennifer Aniston, but it was a waste of her time too, and you have to wonder why David didn't notice her, as she is twice the gal Frankie is.
