Incomparable mix of beautiful audio and stunning visual acting, directing, and cinematic prose. Facial expressions captured within the musical emotions forever. Truly a production for the ages, and for all ages! This movie captures the essence of Beethoven and his Romantic visions and emotions within the awestruck eyes of the wonderful actors; participants all within the composers tragic and compassionate expertise, beyond kingly understanding!

Wonderful DVD

The true ending to the great anime series Gundam Wing. Both versions of the movie itself are wonderfully drawn, voice-acted, and the music is wonderful. The dubbing is one of the best out there. But as a true anime fan, the Japanese version with subtitles is the only way to go. The 3-episode OVA is great. The extra footage isn't much, but it's worth watching. The different versions of the ending with different music is great. All in all, a wonderful ending to a great series. For any anime fan it's a must buy.

a million time watch kind of movie

I've been dying to get my hands on this since 1998. when I finally dead, i bought as many copies, and gave it to friends. this is a must-see, honestly! the kind of movie that makes you laugh one second, and cry the other. the most moving scene to me would be when Dora listened to her husband and baby in the concentration camp. it goes straight to the heart.

"You're all going to die down here." I LOVED this Movie!!!

Okay, here's some facts about the movie before I start this review.
Fact: Yes, this movie isn't too close to the storylines in the "Resident Evil" games. I've played a couple of them, but not much to know the storylines.
Another Fact: This movie SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME SO BAD! And I don't scare easliy when it comes to horror movies.
I happened to love everything about "Resident Evil." I was a little worried at first, because we all know track records of movies based on video games. They're not that good. So, I was going into this movie with some kind of hope, but I was worried. Well, I ended up enjoying EVERY MINUTE of the movie. It was so good and so scary. It was dark, twisted, and sinister.
Though the movie does tend to seperate itself from the orignal video game some, the basic elements are still the same. Zombies, killer dogs, mutant killers, and a nasty virus that can destroy mankind as we know it.
The story: The Umbrella Corporation is a very wealthy business. It sells household products everywhere. But what the public doesn't know is that it makes most of its money off of human experimentaion and biological weapons. One day....something goes wrong. Very wrong. That's all you need to know. There's a bunch of twists and turns this movie takes that I am not going to give away. But let me say this....this movie has one hell of a dark and twisted ending that really made the movie that much better.
The DVD looks and sounds incredible. Too bad that there isn't a DTS option available, but they might release this in Superbit. But it looked and sounded awesome. It also has some nice extra features. Not a lot, but enough to keep you happy.
(Note: If you're wondering why they didn't load this DVD with extras, it's probably because of all the negative feedback this movie got and how little it made in the box office. So don't complain about it and accept it. How in the world do you expect them to put a lot of money on the DVD when it did so poorly at the theatres?)
All in all, this movie was fantastic, and I loved every minute of it. Let it be known, if you are a die hard fan of the video game, then maybe you should pass on this one. Because you might be disappointed. Then again, I read some of the other reviews from people who are fans of the game and enjoyed the movie. If you are looking for a really good scary zombie movie, instead of these stupid teen-slasher flicks that have been coming out, see "Resident Evil." If this doesn't sound like anything you'd like, maybe you'd be better off with seeing "Jason X" or the latest "Halloween" movie. This was an awesome movie that scared the hell out of me. I loved every second.
(Favorite scene in the movie: When they are trying to shut the power down, the Red Queen is telling them it would be a mistake. As soon as they're about to cut the power, she turns her head, looks at them, and says, "You're all going to die down here." Creepy and awesome!)

Friends: The Complete Fifth Season (1998-1999)

When we watched Ross and Emily tie the knot in the final two-part episode of the fourth season, we did not expect Ross to do what he did. It looks like Ross might be seeing Divorce #2. But there's more laughs for you as the actors head into their fifth season.

Picking up precisely where the fourth season left off, Emily and Ross tie the knot anyway, in spite of Ross saying the wrong name. At the reception, Emily hides in the bathroom and refuses to come out. Ross tries desperately to get Emily out, but she continues to tell him that she refuses to even look at him, where she then leaves the reception. Monica and Chandler try to hook up again, but they can't find a place to be alone.

Phoebe is still at Monica's waiting for Monica, Chandler, and Joey to return. They come in and greet Phoebe. Joey goes across the hall to unpack as Phoebe goes home. Chandler and Monica then decide that they should become a couple, but vow to keep it as a secret from the others. Ross sits in the airport, hoping for Emily's arrival. He sees Rachel as she tries to get a ticket back home. But Ross is convinced that Emily won't show, so he invites Rachel to go with him to Athens. As Rachel boards the plane to Athens, Ross goes to get his jacket, but winds up chasing Emily, who bailed after seeing him with Rachel.

Phoebe then goes into labor and gives birth to the triplets. When Phoebe was pregnant, she was told that the triplets were two boys and a girl. Frank had named one of the boys, Frank Jr. Jr., in other words, Frank III. Alice had named the girl baby, Leslie. Being that Phoebe was doing them the favor of carrying the babies, they allowed Phoebe to name the second boy baby. She named the second boy after Chandler. Frank Jr. Jr. was born first, followed by Leslie. Chandler was born third, but Frank and Phoebe were shocked to find that little Chandler was a girl. Frank and Alice decided to let the name stand, despite the fact that the third baby is a girl.

Monica and Chandler continue their relationship. They plan to go away to Atlantic City for a weekend together. Being that it'll sound suspicious to the others, Chandler tells them that he's got a business meeting there, while Monica tells them that she has a cooking convention there. They go out to AC, but they come back early after a little argument. The next day, Joey gives Chandler a message from the hotel in AC, saying that there was an eyelash curler in his hotel room. Chandler lies and says he knows nothing about it and says that he saw Donald Trump getting on the elevator. Everyone then gathers at Monica's apartment. Monica reveals that she too saw Donald Trump. Joey begins looking suspicious. Monica then asks Rachel if she could borrow her eyelash curler, since Monica lost hers. After hearing that, Joey finally realizes that Chandler and Monica had lied about their business stories and went to AC together and realizes that they are dating. Chandler and Monica swear Joey to secrecy. Joey agrees.

Ross continues to call Emily, but cannot find her anywhere. Emily finally calls him. She promises to move to the states with Ross as long as he promises to never see Rachel again. Hurt by the decision he has to make, Ross is desperate to make this marriage work. He agrees to do what Emily wants, as well as moving out of his apartment and getting rid of all his furniture and buying new furniture and a new place with Emily. While having dinner with Monica and the gang, Emily calls. Everyone covers for Ross by saying that Rachel is not there, even though she is, but Ross knows better and says that Rachel is there, which leads into his second divorce.

Rachel, later on, finds out about Monica and Chandler, but they have no idea that Rachel knows, but she agrees to help Joey keep it a secret from the others, but she cannot tell Monica and Chandler that she knows. But soon, everyone finds out, except for Ross, who is busy trying to get Ugly Naked Guys apartment. Ross finds out, but winds up being happy, for Monica and Chandler feel love for each other.

The season ends with the gang going to Vegas for the weekend. Monica and Chandler are so in love that they decide to elope. But they are in utter shock when they find Ross and Rachel, who are more drunk than they could imagine, come out of the chapel a married couple.

Shocking, isn't it? But you'll laugh and laugh and laugh until your heart stops as this season unfolds. All the laughs are worth the money when you buy the complete fifth season. Guest stars include: Helen Baxendale, Jennifer Saunders, Michael Rapaport, Christina Pickles, Elliott Gould, & Morgan Fairchild.

It's a Wonderful Life - movie DVD cover picture

Why can't Hollywood make positive, warm-hearted movies like this anymore?!? This film, along with lots of other films in the early days, are the real movies we're speaking here...
Now, back to the film. You can notice that not all of this movie takes place on Christmas. It's good to see year round. The opening sequence is, of course, when George Bailey (ha, got his name) was a boy, and he saves Harry from drowning to death in frigid waters. Then he attends the graduation dance (I'm sure some of you teens and young adults as well as people of all ages will never forget that night.) He falls in love with a girl named Mary, they get married, (I warn you, don't try some of the antics he does.) and George becomes a banker. His business runs short on money and he tries all he can to get it booming again, with a few obstacles along the way. On account of a guardian angel, George gets to see what the town would be like without him (Hey man, why wish that in the first place? NEVER feel discouraged.) But it all comes to a happy ending, with the full company on screen.
Try this classic for yourself.

Black Hawk Down - movie DVD cover picture
Mission Ops

Based on author Mark Bowden's bestselling account of the October 3rd 1993 incident, that was originally only going to take some 45 minutes, instead it turned into a 16 hour firefight. U.S. Special Forces Rangers were assigned to take over the city of Mogadishu and capture key lieutenants of Somali warlord Muhammad Farrah Aidid. What seemed like the simple removal of a brutal leader, became deadly, after 2 Black Hawk Helicopters were shot down by ground missles operated by Aidid supporters. Forced to fight their way out and mount the rescue of fellow captured rangers, the film takes you right there with its realistic recreation of these events.
Directed by Ridley Scott, Black Hawk Down, is very intense. Its combat sequences are very well done--and unsettling. The film is well cast. There are fine perfomances from Josh Hartnett as Ranger. Matt Eversmann, Eric Bana is Delta Sargent Gibson, Tom Sizemore as Ranger Lt. Colonel McKnight, (in his 3rd military role, behind Pearl Harbor and Saviing Private Ryan) and Ewan McGregor is Ranger Danny Grimes, they're all impressive here. Some have commented on the film's graphic depictions. I, myself, had no problem with that aspect of the movie. Like many modern war films, I think if critics concentrate on the graphic depiction of war scenes too much you end up missing the point. After all any war, large or small, can get ugly. The film also doesn't spend much time preaching about the mistakes of what went wrong, nor does it apologize for the Clinton administation's actions during the icident, instead it puts you in the middle of the conflict and lets it play out. For the record, I have not read the book, as I write this, but the film is well made and makes you think. These men are portrayed as heroic and brave--and that's as it should be
I am glad to see that Black Hawk Down, finally got the special edition treatment, with a 3 disc DVD set. For those of you who don't want all those extras, the single edition with limited bonus material is still available. The extras in deluxe edition are very well presented and very comprehensive Here's how it all breaks down:
Disc 1-There are 3 informative commentary tracks. Each one takes a look at the film from a different perspective. Director Ridley Scott and producer Jerry Bruckheimer talk of behind the scenes and the process; Author Bowden and screenwriter Ken Nolan talk about how the book became a script, while real life rangers/vets discuss what it was really like. That is by far, the best of the 3 commentary tracks.. period. Weblinks and filmographies top off that disc.
Disc 2-Highlights include: an expanded look at the making of the film. It has a running time of 150 minutes and is longer than the movie itelf It covers all aspects of pre/production/post. Deleted/alternate scenes with optional commentary-offers tidbits about some of the director's editorial choices. Production design featurettes and materials, storyboards, a producer's photo album, photo galleries, altenate main title designs, and "Ridleygrams" top off disc 2
Disc 3-Features two documentaries on the real life events. One is produced by the History Channel, while the other is from PBS's Frontline series. Both serve history very well, although I preferred the History Channel doc, over Frontline's. The Mission Timeline, a multi-angle sequence, 3 Q+A sessions about the film with various participants, a music video the the film's composers, and theatrical trailers/poster concepts top off the set.
The 3 disc set is the version of Black Hawk Down to own and comes highly recomended

We saw this movie many years ago when a friend loaned a VHS tape to us. I have checked Amazon multiple times over the years for this title, but it was never available. Recently I checked again, and to my great surprise and delight, Amazon had it on DVD. I ordered it right away, and already we have enjoyed it a couple of times. It's a totally fun movie for those who enjoy that genre of movies. It reminds me of Pride and Prejudice. There's some unexpected twists and turns, and of course, the good guys win, without all the gratuitous blood and gore found in so many movies today.
