The Pretender - The Complete Second Season - movie DVD cover picture
Excellent show... excellent season.

As Jarod started to feel more at ease in the world, "The Pretender" started to take more chances with the formula. Enter new baddies... primary among them Jamie Denton as Mr. Lyle. What he lacked in opposing thumbs, he made up for with sheer determination and deception. The enigmatic Mr. Raines had a greater presence here as well. They were soon followed Harve Presnell as Mr. Parker, and Pamela Gidley as Brigitte.

As the second season went on, The Centre lost faith in Miss Parker's ability to bring Jarod back. She was hounded by Lyle and Brigitte. And was never really sure where her beloved Daddy stood. To make matters worse, she began running into her own health issues. And what did happen in that Centre elevator all those years ago?

The tapestry that was the central storyline for this great show, got woven a bit further. Though for every question that was answered (and there were very few), another series of questions would manifest themselves.

While Fox is still being stingy with the extras on the sets. It is nice to see that they are following up with the second season release. Hold your breath for seasons three and four.

who would stab that old guy anyway, he was cool

Robert Altman, after doing his last movie Dr. T and the women, has brought us this fine grande awesome british movie called Gosford Park. I liked it on so many levels, one being that Clive Owen and Ryan Phillippe did excellent jobs in this one. I am a big Clive Owen fan, he character was great in this movie and I liked the fact that it was him who stabbed the old guy but you know, that old guy was cool. They couldve done with out all those people and it got confusing to watch them walking and talking about but thats probably part of the plot. hooray for Altman and it shouldve won best picture darnit. it was better than A Beautiful Mind. and another Altman movie I recommend is M.A.S.H., watch it, Dr. T and the women was horrible and boring.

Wonderful Movie

This was the best Japanese movie I have ever seen. There are some violent parts but they are well done and don't last that long. The animation was great and the translation was better than any of the others I've seen. The movie's plot stays focused and all of the characters add to it. Everyone that I have talked to has liked just as much as me. I hope that this was helpful to you and enjoy the movie!=)

Wonderful gothic nightmare

So many times, watching horror movies, I have thought to myself: They don't make them like they used to. I stand corrected! This is a film the like of which hasn't been seen in about 40 years. Waves of fog under a pale moon, the headless horseman, his innocent victims, none of which appear corny. And hearing this story as a child, I think anyone imagined the evil horseman emerging from the tree just the way it looks in this movie. A great hommage to the old Hammer Horror, a modern Classic in an old tradition.

One of my all time favorites!

When I started with a particular interest in animation around mid-1993, this co-production of Steven Spielberg and master animator Don Bluth really made me go out of my head. Can't tell exactly why - it simply has everything that appeals to me: great character design, color palette, a great attention to detail etc. So much so I was compelled to write the guys at Amblin Entertainment to congratulate them for such a great, great flick! Needless to say I hunted for a lot of related memorabilia afterwards.
Anyway, this is indeed one of Don Bluth's finest animation masterpieces (along with his other film, "The Secret of NIMH") that shows their technical and developing artistry at its true best. Too sad I can't say the same of the other films released after "The Land Before Time". I'd give it 10 stars if there weren't only 5 :)

Touching story about class and cultural differences

Originally intended only as a television feature film, MBL is one of the quietest but stirring movies you will see.
The story is about one Pakistani man (Warnecke) and a long time Englishman friend (Day-Lewis) who both live on the wrong side of the tracks as they grope for success in a world replete with multiple forms of discrimination -- racism, sexism, groupism, homophobia, cultural elitism, snobbery, reverse colonialism, neocolonialism and fascism -- which they successfully grapple and topple in the form of their launderette with the power of economic enterprise.
These squabbling goblins are left to each others excesses as economic success lifts them up and out of these, but many questions remain: will they subsist? Would others succeed; What does luck have to do with it?
Kureshi had [upset] all groups who find themselves part of this smashing satire, prime among them the identity conscious confused second/third generation subcontinental British kids, the same contingency that staunchly supported the Rushdie fatwa (the kind also sharply profiled in "My son, the fanatic").

Fascinating and spooky if you are a kid.

Darby is always telling tales about local folklore. Soon he finds out that the tales he tells are real and must take the consequences as he meets the little people and confronts a banshee.

I grew up with this film and it was not until much later that I realized that Sean Connery ...Michael McBride was the 007 guy. Everything is so fascinating when you are young. And the special effects are superb for the time. However I did have to take time to get over the banshee.

A Great Lone Ranger Movie!

This Lone Ranger movie is action-packed from the beginning until the end, and it's even in color, too! This was the last Lone Ranger movie ever made, and it was the last film in which Clayton Moore was the Lone Ranger and Jay Silverheels was Tonto. A great finale to their careers! The whole plot centers on five silver medallions cut from the same plaque that, put together, lead to a long-lost city of gold. These medallions belong to Indians, three of whom have been killed by the Hooded Raiders who wish to obtain the riches for themselves. Can the Lone Ranger and Tonto stop the Hooded Raiders from killing the two remaining Indians? Buy the film and find out. Anyone who loves the Lone Ranger will love this movie! A must-have for any Lone Ranger fan!!!

This is my favorite alfred hitchcock film. I highly recomend it this movie is awsome it is so much better then the remake the truth about charlie. They have made alot of remakes of old films but I don't know how they thought they could improve upon the steller casting and acting of Cary Grant, Audrey hepburn, and Walter Matthau

Still Walking Tall

I would reccomend the trilogy of "Walking Tall" to anyone interested in a great classic action show. It will be a great addition to my movie collection. Recently though I had the chance to visit Buford Pussers home in Adamsville in McNairy County, TN. His house has been turned into a museum and is open to the public. If you ever have the chance to visit the town and museum please do so. You will see how Hollywood can distort the truth ... Buford was a great lawman, there is no doubt but Hollywood really messed things up from the way that things actually happened. The tour of the museum will really open your eyes to the real Buford Pusser. He did not carry a big stick as the movie portrays, but he did carry a gun and he did break up a mob that was running illegal booze and gambling. He deserves to be rated as one the nations top heros but I wish Hollywood would just make a follow up movie that actually tells it like it was during his days as a lawman.Again I would reccomend this set to anyone to buy for their collection, but just remember that it was made in Hollywood ... is not very accurate in it's content. If you would like to get more information about Buford and the way things actually happened visit the official web site for him ...
