Enjoyable entertainment for your young ones

I first encountered Care Bears when my baby sister started watcing them even though they've been around in my time. I have to say they're really addicting to watch. She loves them and has about 30 of them which she plays with them by having a Care Bear Conference and it's no suprise she loves this movie. I've always been a fan of Mickey Rooney and he was wonderful in this film. This story follows the care bears as they battle an evil spirt who has tricked a boy named Nicolas into destroying all the caring in the world. They encounter the care bear cousins as they search for the two remaining children who care in the world. The story teaches lids about caring and loving and it is a great movie for children. My only problem with this movie is that they change the story in the next movie but overalll it is a must buy and your kids will want to watch it again and again.

George Pal Does It RIght!

The Time Machine is a Science Fiction classic. George Pal too H.G. Wells?s classic story and made it a reality. From the costumes to the intricately detailed Time Machine itself, the movie is a stand out in special effects, art direction and make-up.
Rod Taylor was fantastic and played his character with a real sense of amazement. (If you have seen the new version ? it lacks a real important element ? characters anyone cares about.) This movie has a charm and romance that Yvette Mimoeux could only portray.
Even George Pal?s visions of what the 80? and 90?s would be like are not far off. Who could forget the classic mannequin in the window sequence ? watching fashion styles change before our eyes. The key to most of the special effects in the film was of course ? stop motion animation. Whereby, elements and props and sets are shot one frame at a time while slight movements were made between each exposed frame. Thanks to CGI technology these days ? this has almost become a lost art form. When it is done well, like in this movie ? it really is effective and shines.
The DVD extras on this one are great. A television retrospective shot in the mid 90?s with some of the original cast is really well done. The behind the scenes and event he history of what happened to the original Time Machine are on this documentary.
This is a must DVD for Science Fiction fans. A true classic and a very good DVD for anyone's collection.

This movie has the pacing of an elephant walking through quicksand. Orsen Welles is an okay actor, but he's no Frank Stallone.

A truly enjoyable show - good, clean fun. Very quotable!!

I've seen this movie at least 30 times and it's still a lot of fun. If you haven't seen it yet, allow me to recommend it to you as one of those *few* movies: it's clean, funny, won't put you to sleep, has no surprise sexual scenes - your entire family will enjoy it!

t-o-r-e-n-c-e all the way

I really liked this movie. I thought the soundtrack was second to none, the athletics aspect of the movie was wonderfully choreographed, and the actors left nothing to wish for. Although the plot was rather simple and flimsy, and some of the situations were not very realistic, the actors pulled it off and made it seem as though this was a serious problem in a high school girl's life. In conclusion, this movie is fun,the actors are entertaining, and the soundtrack just makes you wanna get up & dance ! Or cheer, as the case may be. To sum it up, a feel-good movie that lacks neither imagination or spirit.

Not a horror movie

When first watching this movie I thought it would be an action packed horror movie like DEEP BLUE SEA. But after seeing it I realized that it was definately not a horror movie just a action/comedy. Even though it wasn't scary it is still a very enjoyable movie, but it isnt showing us anything new.

Cooper cracks necks with the best of em'

The Westerner is simply one of the best westerns ever made. It has all of the elements of the genre, the lonesome drifter (Cooper), the half-evil judge (Brennan as Judge Roy Bean), the "searching-for-a-real-man" women, the gang of thug rustlers (played by a gang of various thugs), the wimpy farmers (played by a bunch of wimpy farmers), the raunchy bar-room singer (played by a lock of golden hair), and the climatic shoot-out (Cooper versus Brennan). The scenes that steal the movie are those in which Cooper kindly agress to gently crack Judge Roy Beans stiff neck with a quick twist. You can hear the pops and also feel the relief as you watch.

Syndication vs Showtime

With the exception of the audio problems in The Nox all other episodes were great. The only thing that saddens me is mgm released the syndicated versions instead of the showtime version. On Showtime the episodes ran 45:30 with a shorter opening. The Syndicated version have only 43:45 with a longer opening. What was left out of the syndication version for extra commercials apparently is not missed on the dvd's.
