Ease that aching back and breathe easier

I should start by saying I'm a beginner and never really did any yoga before now. I started this in my 7th month of pregnancy and I found the tape easy to follow, sometimes even when I am not looking at the TV screen (the head is down and the neck relaxed in several poses). The poses certainly helped me create more room in my midsection so I could breathe easier. They also distributed the weight more evenly along my spine and that helped ease lower back pain. Although this is not an aerobic workout, I felt energized and more clearheaded after doing the tape. The instructor is very friendly. She leads a class of several pregnant women at various stages (from slight belly bulge to just-about-ready-to-pop) and one student shows modifications for those who may not be limber enough to do the poses as shown. There is quiet, soothing background music -- not at all distracting, but just enough to help keep things flowing. I'm really glad I bought this tape. I may hang onto it even after I have the baby!

Probably the best baby video ever!

I was skeptical when I bought this video, but I was SO wrong! From the first moment I put it in, my infant was mesmerized! He loves the music, smiles at the toys & children & cries when it's over. My husband calls it "baby heroin"! Very simple, calming & interesting with wonderful Mozart music & great baby toys. Must have!

The perfect movie!

This film was the very first prerecorded videotape I bought for my new VCR back in the mid-eighties. It's now the first DVD I'll buy for my new DVD player, upholding a new tradition.
There is nothing to fault in this movie....nothing!! The two leads, Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant exude what has to be a charisma critical mass as they charm the bejesus out of you from beginning to end. Hepburn is casual elegance personified and Grant is witty, charming and throws off that priestly/uncle-y thing he was so famous for throughout his entire career, a career that had NO clunkers, movie-wise! Hepburn would have had similar status if Sidney Sheldon just hadn't gotten his hooks into her!
The plot is VERY Hitchcockian, with all kinds of O. Henrys all through it...for half the movie, you're almost sure Grant is the culprit as the villains are picked off one by one as they wait to find out where Hepburn's secretive, (and apparently crooked,) husband hid money that he, James Coburn, George Kennedy and Ned Glass and a man named Carson Dyle took from the Vichy French during WWII. Hepburn's husband is now dead, having been thrown from a train as the movie begins. Grant tries to charm the location of the loot from Audrey beginning with their second meeting and throughout the film. Coburn, as a character named Tex, tries to SCARE it out of her early on, but the George Kennedy character, Scobie, goes straight for Grant, thinking he's their fifth, the man named Carson Dyle. Reggie, (Audrey,) suspects he's Carson Dyle too, until he tells her his name is Peter Joshua...
Just what is going on here? Rent this movie or buy it, and find out....between the MAJOR charisma Hepburn and Grant provide, the witty, sophisticated script and the menacing acting of Coburn and Kennedy, not to mention the wizard cinematography for its day and one of Henry Mancini's best scores, I guarantee you, you will be bewitched by this film!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Seventh Season - movie DVD cover picture
Dear mike morrison

But even an average season of Buffy is better than most of the shows on television ever. So, I think there are so factors that made me give it only three stars:

1) First of all, Kennedy is annoying. Unbearable. One of the worst characters ever to feature in the show. She can't even come close to Tara. Each line, each second on screen with her made me want to turn off the TV / DVD;

2) Ok, with that out of my chest, I can go on. Knowing that show would end, maybe the producers thought it would be a good idea to make the fans dislike Buffy's character, so they would not miss her once the show was over! Because Buffy becomes sometimes very, VERY annoying in Season 7.

3) I don't know what was Nicolas Brendon's reaction when he began reading the scripts for season 7. He must have tought: "Where the hell am I?". Yes, because Xander is practically erased from the history, along with Dawn, Anya, Giles and even Willow in the first episodes. Our beloved Scoobie Gang is given a less than just treatment in the last season. Their screen time was virtually eradicated due to that infinite number of Potentials. Ok, the POtentials were the plausible reason to explain that Buffy would not need to be the Chosen One forever (or until she died), but the Potentials were lame, lame, lame. I never cared for any one of them, even for the ones who died.

4) The death of Anya. My God, Emma Caulfied must have done something wrong to the producers. How can such a charismatic and sweet character be killed in such a brief way, with no drama,no tears being drawn by her friends, nothing? By the way, as someone below wrote, by season's end it seems all Scoobie Gang had became worse people, instead of better people!! As if it was possible, sometime along the season some of the magic empathy and love the audience had learned to share with these characters seemed to vanish!!

5) Plot holes and suspense of credulity were always fundamental characteristics of the show, so I was used to it. But this season reached an all time low in this category.... How can a city be evacuated, and no authority says anything? Where is the media? Where is State police, Federal police, the Army, where is anyone who would check why the entire population of a city is leaving it?!!!

6)Good points: the return of Faith; Spike (as always); Principal Wood. It's amazing (even due to forces beyond his control) how Spike in a frenzied access of carnage killed more than a dozen people in small Sunnydale!! It seems Joss made that things on purpose, justo to annoy us. Once we began to feel "relieved" that Spike had a soul, that he would once and for all be a faithful member of the Scoobies, he made him kill (I repeat) dozen of people, and bury them, acting like the most insane and sadistic serial killer! And Buffy doesn't care the leat for the victims, the families of the victims or whatever. All she cares about is Spike. This brings me a funny question: all these murders would be classified as "NOT SOLVED" forever in the Police files?

All in all, I think this is one of the greatest shows ever, but I think Joss Whedon's arrogance won at the end and, guyided by the need to "innovate" always, he made stupid decisions a lot of times, to the point that I felt happy that the show ended before my dissapointment grew...

Great Anime

Ignoring the film, I'm commenting on the DVD presentation. It's not available with any kind of subtitles, and the only language track is in English. Maybe I'm a bit of a snob, but I hate watching foreign films dubbed. Couldn't they have spent a few extra bucks and thrown the original laguage track on here?

Amazing Study of Development and How People Change Over Time

I love the Up Series. I think everyone should watch it as it is a fascinating study of human development. Although their personality is somewhat predicted at a young age, we also learn how drive, emotional barriers and other challenges interact to influence the person they end up becoming.

I so appreciate the contributions of these fascinating people: Tony, Bruce, Suzi, Nick, Peter, Paul, John, Andrew, Charles, Neil, Jackie, Lynn, Sue & Simon. Thank you for sharing your lives with us! I hope that those who have dropped up come back for 49 Up, especialy Charles. As a child, I found Charles to be quite open minded and creative and thought it was completely fitting that he became a producer! Given his profession it is surprising that he has been unwilling to participate. I can't wait to watch 42 Up followed by 49 Up!!

Schoolhouse Rock! (Special 30th Anniversary Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
Wow! Hurray! Hey! Hallelujah!

Yes, I'm using all the Interjections from SchoolHouse Rock to sing it's praises. I grew up with Schoolhouse Rock, but to be honest I thought about it only when my husband and I laughed nostalgicly about memorable songs like Conjunction Junction. Then, he bought the 30th anniversary edition for our daughter (he was trying to qualify for free shipping when he was buying the Tripletts of BelleVille!). So, it can be said that neither of us anticipated how fantastic this DVD would be -- STILL! My 3 year old LOVES it, and I can't say enough great things about the creative lyrics that teach grammar, numbers and how the body works (maybe I should reach into my bag of adjectives, which my daughter charmlingly calls "magictives"). It is the one DVD we own that I don't feel any apprehension about evil or scary characters, dark plots or questionable character influences (which are startling present in many videos for preschoolers).
If you're wondering about getting this video, wonder no more. It is a timeless winner that won't disappoint (unless you're looking for dark plots and questionable character influences!)

G vs. MG 2 is Awesome!!!

Being the first person to own an American dubbed version which I already have, I give it a definite five. The dubbing is great and action sequences are full of suspense. Even Non-Godzilla fans will enjoy this masterpiecce. Even with the horde of monsters and huge cast, the movie is amazing. The music by Akira Ifukube is wonderful and even though two songs are played a lot in the film, it's great. The sprawling special effects by Koichi Kawakita are superb, especially in the scene when Godzilla unleahses his very powerful red heat beam. The re-introduction of Rodan and BabyGodzilla has a nice touch. A must see! I would rate this #1 next to "Godzilla, King of the Monsters" and "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah." This is a Godzilla movie that you would be crazy to miss. And what's more, no Japanese scenes are cut out. "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2" is definitely a great Godzilla film.
I own every Godzilla movie dubbed in english now.
