Don't believe the critics!!!

This review isn't just in anticipation on Star Trek: Nemesis, I actually did just go out and see it! I must say that I'd read an early version of the script nearly a year ago, and thought to myself, "Oh geez, another one of these stories that has little or no point." And when the film was reviewed on Dec. 13, the film's release date, I must say I was inclined to agree with the critics, based on the script I read. I thought it was going to be another film like Insurrection, kinda neat but with very little relevance to the Star Trek universe.
Well, after actually seeing the final version, I must say I was not just pleasantly surprised, I was blown away! I'm not going to give away a single thing about the film; I'll just say it was very nicely atmospheric, the performances were outstanding, especially that of Patrick Stewart (Capt. Picard), and the visual effects were enough to leave me sitting in the movie theatre with my mouth hanging open!
The rest of the crew were used more than in the previous two films, to round the cast a bit more this time, and the bad guy, Shinzon, was given some very real depth, which is rare lately in the Star Trek universe, especially for characters who are in a single episode or film.
I will say this about the story, still not giving anything away: the ending is actually a very pleasant was to end the Next Gen cast story, a bit happy and a bit bittersweet. Very nicely done.
This film is living proof that you can't always believe the critics, even when they seem to come to a general consensus about a film. I learned a sore lesson with Nemesis: make up your own mind about films, and don't believe what the critics say overly much. If you do, you'll miss a treat of a film

I've been waiting for the relase of this show on DVD for such along time. Almost every day for the past 2 years, I have always been checking to see if it will finally be released. Now its FINALLY BEING RELEASED. I can't wait. The fresh prince of bel air was the funniest show on tv, and it should have had more episode. The whole idea of the was great- a wealthy family who takes in their nephew from the Phladelphia. While everyone is trying to act like a gentleman, there is one person who act like he is in the hood. This is a great show and I am definetly getting it.

Moulin Rouge (Single Disc Edition) - movie DVD cover picture

If you love a good movie that includes a very hot guy that can sing like you have never heard before? Than this is the movie for you!!!! At the beginning you have no idea what going on till you get to "Your Song." Why you ask? because Ewan sucks you in with his amazing voice and beautiful smile that will melt an iceberg!! I don't care about Nicole Kidman, Ewan was the one you'll be watching the most, and I think he was the main character not her! While watching this movie I got goose bumbs sooooo bad, especially during "Le Tang de Roxanne," this song was so powerful to me it just moved me and this song made me love this movie. Don't download it right now you have to wait to see it until you can love it! I can't tell you why to watch this movie, but in the end you'll be glad you did. After watching this movie I am inspired to become an actor hopefully as good as Ewan. GO WATCH THIS MOVIE AND CHEER EWAN McGREGOR ON!!!!

Only bit of the movie I liked was the credits rolling at the end and the soundtrack 'Fallen' by a little known band called Drist. They are the reason it gets 5 stars!

The Andy Griffith Show - The Complete First Season - movie DVD cover picture

Out of all of the seasons of the Andy Griffith Show, I feel for one that the first season was the best! This dvd set is a great buy including that it was a 32 episode season. What I don't understand is how they can sell Happy Days that has 16 episodes for the same price! Well, anyway no matter what show Paramount puts on the market is a great price and a great selection for any classic tv fans. Andy Griffith Show is a true classic amongst itself!

Stunning and atmospheric gothic French "policier"

(This review relates to the French special edition release in THX. French title: Les Rivieres Pourpres) From the second the film starts, it is evident that France's Matthieu Kassovitz is more than capable of taking-on Hollywood in directing a stunning gothic chiller complete with a first class THX sound track. A badly mutilated body is found high in the Alps. The local police acquire the help of "special" police investigator, Pierre Niemans (Jean Reno), whose intent becomes not just to discover *who* committed the murder but also *why* it was committed. Simultaneously, a young Arab policeman, Karim Abdouf (played by Vincent Cassel of "La Haine"), living some 200km away is called in to investigate the desecration of a little girl's grave and a local school break-in. Both policeman are drawn slowly to the same potential perpetrator, discover two further murders and uncover a terrifying secret behind the murders. I bought the film yesterday in a French supermarket and I've already watched it three times. The style of the film, the photography and camera-work, the music, the twists and turns of the plot all make this a brilliant film. The actors are perfectly cast, with Jean Reno presenting a softer more thoughtful character than in the book of the same name whilst Vincent Cassel displays the edge of racial anger that was so visible in La Haine. The ending will probably generate a lot of discussion as to what exactly it means but, if the film is released in the same special edition form as in France, the additions on the second disc provide a level of insight rarely seen in other special edition DVDs - and supply that elusive answer! Buy it as soon as it is released!

Inspector Lynley - A Great Deliverance - movie DVD cover picture
Entertaining New Duo in Mystery Solving

This introduction of Inspector Lynley and Sgt. Havers is the start of an excellent series that has not only mystery but humor and character development as well. The aristocratic Lynley and the chip-on-the-shoulder working-class Havers start off as oil and water but their growing respect and consideration (no, no romance hovers yet, anyway) for each other is a large part of the appeal of the series. I could do with a little less soppiness on Lynley's part in his various (and so far unsuccessful) affairs of the heart and Havers' belligerence at first rather grates but both of these seem to be improving as the series goes on and the plots and humor of the mysteries are excellent. I predict a very successful run for the sexy Lynley and his touchy sidekick

A Walk I Would Like to Remember

I loved the book so it was no suprise that the movie was almost as good. I myself wish that I could experience so much love in my lifetime. This film made me want to be a better person and make something of myself before I run out of time. This movie is not only moving but pulls at your heartstrings as well.
