Destined to be a cult classic.

Man, this is a cool movie. Granted that it does not have quite the feel that the book had, and a lot of the scarier stuff is gone. But it is good anyway. The movie, unlike the book, did not go on and on and on about disease and all that stuff that takes the attention away from the outline. If you get a chance, see it. And dont pay attention to the other reviewers who said that this was a bad movie because it had all the stuff an old scary movie had. The older ones had some good stuff. They should have kept them that way.

Ed Gein

I was very impressed at how close this movie was in depicting the story of Ed Gein, and I commend Steve Railsback in his portrayal of Ed Gein in this film (he even looks like him!). Some movies that are based on true stories aren't researched well, but this one was, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in true crime stories.

I first saw this movie when I was about 5-6 years old, and I remember telling my mom not to rent it because it looked scary, but she did it anyway and I am thanking her to this day for doing so! I love this movie so much that I am writing a sequel to it. This movie is so captivating that you will want to watch it over and over again it never get's old! Everyone and anyone can relate to the story, it's great for kids and adults alike, I have bought this movie at least 6 times and everytime I borrow it to someone they steal it, that's how good it is! It touches every possible genre (excuse the spelling), it's action, adventure,to a point horror, suspense, drama, romance, comedy, fantasy and a musical all rolled into one great film. I now own it on DVD for the first time, The extras are great especially the making is very interesting. The movie itself well I haven't seen a plot so well written and imaginative in a long time. For first timers out there it's really neat to see Jennifer Connelly back when she was a young girl, and to see David Bowie in those form fitting tights : ) hehe he is just so beautiful, mysterious and magical, ladies will fall in love with him over and over again. And if you are anything like my friends and I you'll find yourself not wanting to come back to reality. ha ha! It's a must see the only down fall to this movie is that it ends.

80's cartoon's suddenly coming out of the woodwork!!

Wow! This is pretty exciting! He-Man, Thundercats, Heathcliff,
and soon Zelda and Mario will follow. For those of you complaining about He-Man not coming to season sets right away,
I have something to share with you. Apparently BCI is starting
the season set wave in October. So settle down pilgrims! BCI
is acting a lot faster than other DVD companies I've observed.
Some wait six months to a year before releasing the next season
set of something. Others even wait that long to release one or
two individual dvd's with just a few shows on each one, and then
never get around to releasing season sets. Not to worry, I'm
not complaining myself. I am just simply contrasting to make
BCI look good! It seems like quite a few companies have had
trouble getting the ball rolling for older cartoons in the past
few years. However BCI doesn't seem to be one of those companies. That's because He-Man is a great way to start!
I hope they continue to have great success in the future!

Anyway, I am very intrigued by this release! This particular
release will interest people who haven't seen this show in a
long time. I do believe that 1986 would have been the last
time I saw this show. I don't recall it being on cable much.

A friend of mine told me he remembered the He-Man cartoon
being a little cheesy. Especailly Skeletor's laugh! Oh
well. When your a big Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan
like I am, you can handle films and shows that are cheesy
(to a certain degree anyway).

Gotta love the Raiders!

It's about time. I've been waiting a long time for this DVD. Why NFL films released the histories of the Packers and the Cowboys before the Raiders is beyond me. The important thing is it's is going to be awesome. The 2003 Raiders Season dvd was pretty know this one will rock. If you are a serious Raiders fan, or if you are a Chiefs or Donkeys fan who wants to learn something about this DVD! GO RAIDERS!!!

Haunting and Chilling!

Wonderful film about two kids with a doll full of cash and a mad preacher who's after them. Stunning cinematography, beautifully executed. Lillian Gish is wonderful as the kind woman who offers the kids a temporary home. Robert Mitchum is in his best self here. A haunting masterpiece!!!!

Monkees - Season One - movie DVD cover picture

On subsequent viewings of this DVD set, I finally got around to paying more attention to the commentaries by Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith, and have to say that of the three, only the good natured Jones really enhanced my viewing pleasure or lent any insight into what it was like to be a Monkee. Jones clearly still loves the show and still thinks the plots and gags are a hoot, and quite candidly has a blast watching himself and his buddies go through the motions. At the end of one of the episodes, he is most convincing when he signs off saying "We had SO MUCH FUN doing those shows, I really wish you all could have been there!" You get the feeling he really loves the show and feels warmly towards his mates. Nesmith and Tork, on the other hand, (as well as James Frawley who directed some of the episodes) deliver a dryly clinical account of their experiences that is limited mostly to describing what they see on the screen as opposed to what they were feeling at the time or what they may feel now watching it all again. In Nesmith's commentary, he struggles unsucessfully to get past describing his sense of fear and of being "lost" at the outset of the Monkees' TV career, but he never gets around to telling us how he felt/feels about Davy, Peter and Micky. The most interesting observation he comes up with is that the early episodes had "a naivite that was charming. As we went on, they seemed to get worse. The more sophistocated and self conscious we became, the stranger it got." The other high point of the Nesmith commentary is when he expresses a love of Dolenz's voice that is nice to hear, and concedes that Dolenz was "really the voice of the Monkees". Tork limits his commentary mostly to trying to remember the names of periphreal characters that mean little to most of us. While it's still nice to hear them, nobody but Jones really delivers the goods as we want them to. It will be interesting to hear what Dolenz has to say on Season Two, but for now, Davy just became my favorite Monkee!

Pee-wee's Big Adventure - movie DVD cover picture
Pee-wee's Big Adventure is the BEST !

Pee-wee's Big Adventure is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen,( and believe me, I've seen a lot of movies in my life. ) It has comedy for all ages. You can't beat this movie. Paul Ruebens is a genius! It all starts out with Pee-wee Herman, a grown man with a child sense of humor, taking a day out on his deluxe, red, super-duper bicycle. But while he's away at Chuck's Bike-O-Rama talking to his girl-friend,( she's a girl, and she's a friend,) his bike gets hoisted from the Houdini-type lock-up! After that, Pee-wee meets crooks, bikers, phantom truck drivers, and truck stop waitresses on his treck to find his bicycle. His trip takes him to Warner Brother's Studios, where he meets up with a brat child star! You'll love the ending, but I'm not going to spoil it for you ! In this DVD you will get to hear commentary from the star, Paul Reubens, the Director, Tim Burton, and the movie's Musical Composer, Danny Elfman. You also get to hear Danny's tremendous musical score without the soundtrack of the movie. You also get the original theatrical trailor that starts with the Most famous movie song ever - Tequila! You will love this movie with all of your heart. Great comedy, music, and just silly acting will leave you howling as you watch this movie with your family! It might have been Tim Burton's directorial debut, but he did it right! Check this movie out if you love great comedy, great music, and great photography in movies. I have to end this review with saying, This is the greatest movie of all time!
