Definitive Streisand

If I could give this movie 10 stars, I would. This is definitive Streisand. The story is so innovative and well written, the performances are wonderful and the songs, well, they're just so classic and so superbly performed by Barbra. Even Yves Montand--not famous for being a singer--does an admirable job in that department.
This is a "must-have" for any Barbra Streisand fan. I highly recommend it.

Anime doesn't get much better than this

It is not often I write reviews, but once in awhile an anime comes along thats too great to describe and I just have to share my views of it. First off, this is an adventure thats not filled with any funny moments whatsoever, sure there are moments that makes you smile, but if your someone who needs an intermission of comedy laced through the plot of your anime, this is not for you.
Thats not to say all people looking for even a little humor should turn away. I sure like comedic moments in my anime, but that didn't stop me from watching this one. It also feels right without any funny things happening, to me that would ruin the story otherwise.
There have been complaints about the look of the characters, but you get used to it after awhile. I think it's just the main character's sideburns. Otherwise the graphics for the mecha and the "Blue" are good. There is a good amount of action, if your an action fan like me. Even though I was actually more concerned about the character interaction and plot; it seemed at moments I even wanted the action to end, to get to the juicy parts of the plot!
A very suspense full and addictive story. One of my favs. as of now. This is definitely a recommended anime for any anime fan.

THE BEST SOUND YET

Short and sweet - I'm not a HUGE Eagles fan, but this DVD has the best sound of any concert DVD I've heard yet, and the production is flawless. Those were the reasons I wanted it initially, a good use of the home theatre system. That being said, I now watch it for the masterfull performance put on by the Eagles. What a fantastic group of musicians, and what a great concert. If you're thinking about buying it, just do it. You'll be happy with every aspect of this DVD.

Drive is a killah!

Drive is some dank stuff. The fighting scenes in this movie are so radical dude. I have never seen such original fighting scenes and moves as in this film. I love how the characters react in the most totally unrealistic ways to far out situations. Like Kadeem Hardison trying to bite off a dead hand from a machine gun! The plot and acting, are of course top quality B movie standards. That probably couldn't get too much worse, but that's not important. The movie is really entertaining and I highly recommend it. Now if I could only find the soundtrack! "Where's the party at?! ho' ho'!!!"

mysterious and terrifying!!!

I recall this movie being the all timespookiest thing I have ever seen. It's lack of clarity combined withit's setting lends to the films overall mystique. This picture I beleive proves that true horror doesnot need to rely on a multi million dollar budget to be executed well.As a child this flick left me desperately trying to figure out what this creature was...where it was.....was this true ...etc.......Thefact that this could have happenedsomewhere in those dark creepy swampsfor real as opposed to some fairy tale written by a big movie produceris what makes this cheap film seriously eerie. The primal element........the power of suggestion is what somehow get's you totally inthis flick ...real fear can be real cheap.

A MUST for all Red Sox fans

This documentary weaves history with the 2004 season and the ALCS win over the Yankees. It also shows highlights of the World Series win over the St. Louis Cardinals. It is a tribute to the relationship the fans (past and present) have with their Red Sox team. Any Red Sox fan will enjoy this.

the very best in comedy

I want to start off by saying that I am a huge Friends fan...that is, I am a huge EARLY Friends fan. My adoration for the show cuts off around mid-season 5 or whenever Monica and Chandler became somewhat of a pathetic item. I guess you could call me half a fan since the show lasted for a decade. In my opinion, it should have ended a few years sooner, but NBC had to squeeze the last living drops out of its last "Must-See-TV" sitcom.

The past four seasons have been excruciating for me and you wanna know why? Okay, so you don't, but I'll tell you anyway. The actors on Friends are (or maybe were) incredible comedians in their own right, but as the seasons dragged on, they turned into caricatures of their former selves. For instance, Monica became more and more neurotic and crazy, Joey became more of a doofus whose only concerns were food and hot chicks, Phoebe lost all her quirky charm and just became a joke, Ross got anger issues and basically lost his mind, Rachel was acting like a 16 year-old, awkward, hyper (and gangly, with her Pilates physique) girl, and Chandler... poor Chandler turned into a wimp who couldn't even pull off the few "Chandlerisms" he was given.

Also, if that's not enough, the show just became a ridiculous fashion show. With Rachel and Monica (sometimes Phoebe, but let's face it, she always got the short end of the stick) sporting the hottest new clothes from the latest designers, the show became less about comedy and more about Da-Nang, Juicy, and Neiman Marcus. I realize that with popularity comes bigger salaries, endorsements, sponsorships, etc., but if you look back to these early seasons, it really makes you yearn for a less couture Rachel. I find myself just longing for the famous "The Rachel" haircut to come back as the show's biggest fashion statement.

And I have one more point to make before I actually say something good about the show I supposedly love so much. It seemed to me that the Friends actors weren't putting as much into the show in the later seasons. They often seemed to give off the impression that they were doing the network and the fans a favor by continuing the show, like it was enough that they even showed up. You know, that "So what more do you want?" attitude. I would've been just as pleased if they had called it quits back before they became the "million dollar" men, so to speak. They felt entitled to it, being "Friends", but they didn't deserve it as actors. The Friends in the first four seasons did, though.

But hey, draw your own conclusions. Maybe I'm just bitter over Chandler losing the essence of what IS Chandler Bing. That could very well be it. But with classic episodes like "The One With the Prom Video" (season 2), "The One Where No One's Ready" (season 3), "The One With All the Embryos" (season 4), and "The One With the Blackout" from season one, how can you not agree with me? The ones I mentioned may not be everyone's favorites, but they are some of the most unforgettable ones. How many episodes are that memorable from the latter seasons? Not many.

Enjoy the first season, then move on to savor the second, make a trip to love the third, and treasure the fourth. Because after that, folks, it could not BE any worse.

"The future belongs to 3M!"

If any movie screams "Nineteen-Seventies," this is the one. Joe Don Baker portrays one of the most downright unattractive characters in cinema history, and Linda Evans is hilariously inept as the, ahem, "love interest." Fans will no doubt remember this one as Joel's last experiment; but with the guys getting off some of their best zingers ever, and Tom's right-on-target dissection of the campy incidental music, "Mitchell" more than holds up in any event. I'd get this one fourth, after "The Unearthly," "Manos," and "Pod People," then follow it with "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" (Mike Nelson's debut). Hey, does anyone know if Mobile Fidelity has Hoyt Axton's title tune on gold CD yet?

Call it brilliant. Call it flawless. Snatch it up tonight!

Probably one of the most well designed, directed, and acted movies ever. The cast, most appearing in the likewise fantastic "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels," was absolutely hilarious. The plot takes a couple of viewings to fully understand, but it goes something like this: An underground boxing world loses a prize fighter just before the high-stakes match is about to go down, and our heros must race to find a replacement before the mob takes the gambling losses out of their hides (literally).
This is a movie that will have you in the floor laughing until your head and gut ache. I've seen it a dozen times and still catch subtle jokes that I missed before. The plot is strong and relevant, the actors (mostly British) are naturally hilarious and entertaining to an unsuspecting American audience, the movie never has a dull moment. This is one that you will certainly want to buy, and only then could you possibly understand why I'm raving so.
