Cross of Iron

I saw this movie only on TV. This is a very realistic war movie and almost rivals the famous "Platoon".
The historical accuracy (equipment of the soldiers and the arms etc.) is quite good and far surpasses that of the average US-made films such as "Battle of the Bulge".
The story is rather unusual, in this sense it resembles "Apocalipse now". The story of "Platoon" is better than "Cross of Iron". The reason of the reality of "Platoon" comes from the fact that the Director Oliver STONE actually participated the Vietnam War.
All in all, this is a classic of the realistic WWII land warfare. Viewers can feel the Antiwar feeling in the film.

Madonna the Queen of Videos... Ever

The Video Collection 93:99 is Madonna's second video compilation DVD after The Immaculate Collection. This DVD covers from the Erotica Album until the Austin Powers them song. I will ve review the videos, not much the songs since this is a DVD review.

There are 14 videos in this compilation:
1. Bad Girl(1993).- This video is like a movie, the oscar-winning actor Christopher Walken plays the angel that looks over Madonna's caracther a lost woman who looks love in the wrong places, a video with a sad storie but great looks. 10/10
2. Fever(1993).- This video from the cover of Fever is very stylish, there's a lot of red colors since I guess represents fever, the version is dancy and the video somehow erotic. 9/10
3. Rain (1993).- If in the Fever video there was a lot of red in this one there are a lot of blue, Madonna looks very great in black short hair and very deep blue eyes. 10/10
4. Secret (1994).- From too much color ve go to blac and white, I like this song very much, Madonna, a blues band and a new your 'hood is part of this video visual. 10/10
5. Take a Bow (1994).- Spain, a bull fighter and a hurt lover are part of this sepia video, this is my favorite Madonna ballad and the video trasmite the lyrics perfectly. 10/10
6. Bedtime Story (1995).- This video is full of special effect, very cool and different. 10/10
7. Human Nature (1995).- This video is very simple, but the black vinyl and leather that Madonna and her dancers wear makes it very sexy. 9/10
8. Love don't live here anymore (1996).- A video from an old song (from her like a virgin album), not too complicated. 7/10
9. Frozen (1998).- Very dark video, excellent visual effect from Madonna become animals and vice versa, nice song. 9/10
10. Ray of Light (1998).- Classic video, winner of MTV awards, showing the hectic of everyday life, great. 10/10
11. Drowned World (1998).- This video tries to reflect how is Madonna life regardiong with fame and how her priorities have changed now that she is a mother. 8/10
12. The Power of Goodbye (1998).- Beautiful cinematography, filmed at the beach with that ER actor as guest, nice song. 9/10
13. Nothing really matters (1999).- I like this song and the video, Madonna is dressed as Geisha, the video is odd, but I like it. 9/10
14. Beautiful Stranger (1999).- From the Austin Powers movie, Madonna in stilleto shoes dancing with Mike Mayers, fun video.
8/10

king of the zombies

King Of The Zombies is a very fun movie for the entire family to enjoy...This film stars comedian Mantan Moreland who is one of the funniest men ever in movies...Although the film is very low budget it is well worth watching or buying just to see Mantan Moreland...Watching this film is time well spent and will make you feel better and laugh more than you ever have...I would advise any serious movie fan to watch this almost forgotten classic and enjoy it again and again...thanks...Jeff Johnson

Movin'

This is an incredible movie! It's original, intelegent, and the music... GAAH! If you are a fan of any type of electronica (this movie covers most of the bases) you will love it. Like when DJ Snaz hits a sick blend, you'll go nuts. If you're not moving by the Bedrock track you must be dead. (the Digweed set at the end of the movie has the best tracks) Great collection of music from some of the best!

Reveiwer: Big Zach NOT A KIDS REVEIW although a kid

All three of these prequels were terrible in many many ways. If you disagree you're either in denial or simply have no artistic film sense or taste. Come on, you know I'm right.

BUT, as sorry prequels go, ROTS is not the complete crap-fest it could have been.

The special effects were good, but so what? Good effects do not a great story make.

The acting was lame and stiff, but much blame with the scripted dialogue.

The best thing George Lucas ever did after the original "Star Wars" was to hand over the Directing and Screenwriting chores to better-qualified individuals and use his Exec Producer status to get his vision on the screen. It is a shame he didn't do this with Episodes I-III.

ROTS has so many laughably bad things about it, as did TPM and AOTC, that I'm surprised George didn't get laughed out of the screening room at the previews. But it made money, and that was the whole point. The DVD will have oodles of goodies and folks will flock like sheep to the stores to buy it.

But anyone who tells you that ROTS was "a great movie" should have his/her judgment called into question.

a must for any film buff

this is a masterpiece and is required viewing for any of you wannabe directors out there. it's a beautiful mix of narrative, montage, a Surreal scene here and there, and some great acting. the female lead, Bibi Andersson i think, is a particularly striking woman. she plays the daughter of an aging professsor who is going on a trip to receive and honorary award from a university (you've probably already heard that Woody Allen based much of 'Deconstructing Harry' on this movie and of course, Allen is a Bergman fan...). along the way, he relives memories of his life and begins to bond with his somewhat estranged daughter.
if you found this movie at Amazon then you're probably looking for something interesting, moving and stimulating. Wild Strawberries is all of that. a film everyone should see...

Tremors - movie DVD cover picture
For sheer fun, "Tremors" can't be beat

Director: Ron UnderwoodCast: Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Finn Carter, Michael Gross, Reba McEntire.Running Time: 95 minutes.Rated PG-13 for violence, language, and mild amounts of gooey monster gore.
A classic monster movie in line with the 1950's onslaught of similar films, "Tremors" is a devastatingly enjoyable film that will mark high on most viewer's richter scales. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward star as a quirky duo of garbage collectors for the small town of Perfection, Nevada. Just as they are ready to leave town for good, start up a new business, and sail into the sunset as new men, their quiet little desert town is not all that it seems. Seismologist Finn Carter discovers strange rumblings in the ground and suspects that their area is to be inflicted with a massive earthquake, but there is no past evidence of quake occurences.
The town of Perfection is soon put into a terrible frenzy as they are traumatized and gobbled up by flesh-eating, snake-like monsters that actually live underground. They have no eyes, but can sense movements and sound--forcing all of the remaining citizens to read higher ground in order to survive. Michael Gross (yes, that Michael Gross from "Family Ties") and Reba McEtnire (yes, the famous country star) organize a military onslaught to protect and hold their neighborhood. "Tremors" develops into a devilishly hilarious and campy monster movie with lovable characters, thrills and chills, and superb special effects. Bacon is very good in the one of the lead roles, depicting his reckless character with charm and determination.
The screenplay created by S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock does not miss a beat, increasing in intensity and humor as the film goes on. The firearm standoff between Gross/McEntire and the huge soil-slithering creatures is a a fun, ten-minute epic scene that is truly dazzling. Rivals "Aliens" as the best monster movie of the latter part of the 1980's, "Tremors" might just be the most fun a horror cinematic experience can be. Unheralded and somewhat forgotten; should be considered one of the best of its kind.
