Code of Bushido

For those who like a more "realistic" depiction of Japanese martial arts, "The Hunted" is a MUST SEE. The only thing that seperates the Samurai from the Ninja IS the code of honor "BUSHIDO". The Hunted pits these two age old martial disciplines against each other in a very exciting and realistic way. The sword "fight" scenes are incredible at the same time believeable. A MUST SEE for anyone who enjoys, and appreciates, "BUDO".

This film is unbeleivable, not only does it show the true lies about Bush and his stooges (RICE - POWELL - RUMSFIELD - CHENEY AND ALL THE REST), but also how stupid some Americans are about their own Gov'mnt. Michael Moore has done an excellent job and I dont care if he has made money from it. 2nd point, if this film is a lie then why dosnt the likes of Condy Rice take Mr Moore to court? I let you decide that if you have any sense. Great insight into the ILLEGAL WAR, great footage of SADDAM TAKEN DOWN ( EVEN THOUGH TEN YEARS EARLIER SADDAM AND RUMSFELD WERE BEST OF BUDDIES).

Anyone who remembers dialing up a bbs back in the 80s/90s needs to have this as part of their DVD collection. This is 5.5 hours of pure documentary and I was entertained every minute. Great research and a wealth of information ranging from origins to underground subculture of the BBS days.

Amazingly good.

I never paid much attention to Leonard Maltin, but I will pay him even less heed from now on. This was a very good movie. I didn't find it to be too dark for children. And this movie is much more kind hearted than many movies which may be less dark visually. It is hard to believe that this movie gets criticized for being too dark and violent when our kids are watching the Power Rangers and Beetle Borgs every day. Babe shows us that kindness is a far better way to deal with problems than flying kicks and karate chops. Maybe Leonard paid too much attention to the lighting and not enough to the story.
By the way, the movie was hilarious and visually stunning. Great movie.

demented fun

The idea of Halloween trying to annex Christmas is wonderfully unique and played out brilliantly by a cast of unforgettable characters.
Most of the film takes place in Halloween Town--a delightfully strange and eerie place inhabited by dozens of bizarre, yet lovable creatures. Most notably the main character, Jack Skelington - The Pumpkin King, who is in charge of the yearly preparations for Halloween. One day, Jack stumbles into Christmas Town, a world much more colorful and cheery than his own. Jack is so enthusiastic about Christmas that he figures why not have the residents of Halloween Town put on Christmas this year? After all, wouldn't scaring little children and delivering gifts like snakes and shrunken heads make Christmas even better? Jack is a sweet skeleton with his heart is in the right place, however...........well, you can imagine.
The time and effort taken to create the stop-motion animation in NBC is mind-boggling. I still can't figure out how they created some of the effects. This is one of those films that commands repeat viewing. I've watched the DVD several times and I always see something new that I hadn't caught before. The attention to detail is magnificent.
NBC is a little off the beaten path (it's rated PG), however keep in mind that even though Santa Clause ("Sandy Claws") is kidnapped and held hostage, the movie has a happy ending.
The DVD picture and sound quality (Dolby Digital and DTS) are absolutely marvelous, and the disk is loaded with tons of wonderful extras.

I know Kung Fu... Show me...

The best movie, hmmm, well, ever. From the beginning this movie is action packed and full of great acting and possibities. Let your eyes relax and drink fully this master piece. The one excuse people keep giving me for not having seen this movie is, "Keanu Reeves is in it." Well to that I say, think of "Bill" from Bill n Ted's... and make him a computer freek and you get "Neo." A line I thought to help describe "Neo", before I saw the movie is, "Woah, this world is Real, but not Real." Too all those who like Samuri Sunday... this movie is a must see.
Take it from someone who has seen this movie 6 times more than anyone else he knows... (12).

i think this is a great movie.

first of all, anyone with any common sense knows not to watch the extra stuff before you see the movie. therefore, it should go without saying that the added material does give away the twist. the ending does lose its surprise after the first viewing, but you notice so much more each time you see it afterwards. i went to see it at the theatre opening weekend, and i am glad i didn't wait. too many people gave away the ending, and i'll admit that it was hard not to tell people the end when i was telling about it. Haley Joel Osment is awesome; i hope he continues to find scripts that are a challenge for him. there are a lot of really neat camera angles and such that you wouldn'y normally think about using. if you are looking for a blood and guts horror movie, don't see this, because that's not what it is. rather, it deals more with psychological issues and pulls in your emotions, rather than your fear. i too am somwhat annoyed that the DVD makes you watch the previews, but i think i can deal with it. it certainly isn't going to stop me from watching it again. like Thomas Crown Affair, the ending does surpirse you, and is a big part of the movie's appeal, but t shouldn't keep you from multiple viewings. overall, i think this is a great movie, and it has been added to my family's list of favorites.

Amadeus - movie DVD cover picture
My Favorite Movie of All Time

Amadeus is one of those movies that touches your heart in a way that many movies don't.....through music, and the music of Mozart is one of the most perfect types of music to touch people. Although this movie is not entirely based on fact and uses quite a bit of dramatic license, two things emerge every time I watch it 1) how great a composer Mozart was and 2) how jealousy and feelings of inadequacy can haunt us all.
The movie is told through the eyes of a court composer, Antonio Salieri. Salieri was one of the great composers of the time, although he has since been all but forgotten. In comparison to the music of Mozart, Salieri feels vulnerable and inferior. As a pious man, he had earnestly prayed to God to be blessed with the ability to compose music that would not only be remembered throughout all time and eternity but that would also praise the glory of God. Salieri feels slighted by God when he comes in contact with Mozart, who is portrayed as a childish, immature, and somewhat vulgar person. His jealousy begins when he hears the beautiful music that Mozart is able to create. This causes the beginning of his downfall---turning away from God and doing what he can to ruin Mozart.
Throughout the entire movie, the audience is introduced with snippets of Mozart's music that are perfectly chosen for each scene. One truly gets the feeling of just how great a composer Mozart was. Also, the script (and an incredible performance by F. Murray Abrahm) make the audience sympathize and empathize with Antonio Salieri. He personifies all of our weaknesses, our feelings of inadequacy and inferiority, and our jealousies of other's strengths.
Amadeus is truly one of the great movies of all time. It won tons of awards which stands as a credit not only to its greatness, but the greatness of the music of Mozart and as a testament to feelings that are just as present in today's times.
